OOC: Kraden had handed the one almost burned up to Etruna, in order to light the oil. He then lit up his last one and had planned to set it down on the ground before combat, obviously away from the oil. Not sure if I mentioned this but will go back thru threads to confirm.Solinor wrote:Kraden's torch was the only one?

Re: Into the Lair
(ooc: Etruna definitely is not carrying a light source. I hadn't thought about that when I had her look into room #7. She does have infravision however and the light from further down the hallway shouldn't disrupt it too much I would think within the darkened room itself.)
Re: Into the Lair
Round 8
The evil priest begins to stagger back the way he had come, clutching his eyes and wailing at the top of his lungs. As the priest retreats the area begins to grow dark as the oil fire is fading and the torch has gone out.
Nuonne pushes forward trying to reach the evil priest but is tripped by the evil fighter and he falls just past the man (just trying to justify the 3 you rolled
).
The evil fighter swings his sword back-and-forth in great arcs, keeping everyone at bay. In his dueling with Kraden he launches a nasty stab that slices into Kraden's arm, Kraden reacts enough to not have his arm completely skewered (Kraden takes 6 points of damage from the evil fighters attack).
Then Halmod finds his opening and throws his knife squarely at the evil fighter who instinctively parries it (You hit with your dex bonus and did 1 point of damage).
Rondar: Sorry, with all the activity going on in front of you won't be able to complete your plan with the rope and grapple.
At first the light spell sheds some illumination back into the tunnel that Etruna is looking down. You see a mud filled tunnel and at the far end seems a door. Then it goes dark as the light spell staggers away.

Re: Into the Lair
OOC: I know you didn't ask for intentions yet, but instead of getting up and wasting time, is there a way that Nuonne can attempt to grab the cleric and take him down. I'm worried that it's another round down for the Light spell. If not then up he gets and attacks again!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

I know intentions for round 9 weren't called for yet, but wanted to state Kraden's desired action. Not sure if that was the sword or shield arm, but Kraden, out of desperation, will do his best to try and press his attack against the armored, evil fighter. If he can position himself in a way that will isolate him and cut him off from moving in the direction of the priest, he will do so!

Does Ankhar has any luck with this?zebediah wrote:Ankhar continues to be completely useless in combat (http://www.unseenservant.com/Default.as ... one&id=431).
He keeps engaged with the creature he is fighting, but will try to check if another position nearby would be able to give him a slight advantage (higher ground, etc).
Re: Into the Lair
Etruna will retrieve a tinderbox and torch from her pack and light one.

Re: Into the Lair
While attacking Viscata attempts to move around the fighter so he is flanked, seeing that he is fighting several targets.

I will take your intention to go after the cleric who has moved into area 2?
Re: Into the Lair
rondar will go after the cleric (has infravision so not worried about the dark)
Re: Into the Lair
The only opponent fighting everyone is the evil fighter that is covering the retreat of the evil priest. There are two dead troglodytes though.zebediah wrote:Does Ankhar has any luck with this?zebediah wrote:Ankhar continues to be completely useless in combat (http://www.unseenservant.com/Default.as ... one&id=431).

Unfortunately in this closed environment there isn't any higher ground or terrain advantage you can gain.
The environment is actually favoring the evil fighter because the space is limiting the number of people who can attack him and he is proving quite dangerous.

Excellent, yes I'll go after him, if I can get past the fighter.Solinor wrote: The light spell will last 7 turns!

Re: Into the Lair
A little description:
It is a 10' wide corridor and the evil fighter is standing in the middle of it trying to prevent people from getting to the cleric.
The cleric has retreated into room 2.
I see Nuonne as trying to rush past to reach the cleric and thus with his die roll I just said the fighter tripped him to justify his failed attack.
Kraden is fighting the evil fighter and he hasn't had to give ground because no one has hit him (Kraden's attack for this next round will certainly hit).
Nuonne is going to try to stand up and try to reach the cleric again but he is almost lying at the feet of this fighter.
Rondar is now going to try to push past and reach the cleric. Viscata and Ankhar are jumping in trying to swing as well.
Halmod is throwing Knives into this crowd.
Etruna is lighting her torch back by 7.
So my point is "it is getting crowded in there."

Re: Into the Lair
Initiative:[1d6] = 2
DANG.
D20 attack, and mace damage in case it's needed for Nuonne:
[1d20] = 14 [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5

Ankhar will step back from the fray and, positioning himself behind Kraden, will cast a cure spell on the ranger.

Re: Into the Lair
OOC:

Halmod stoops down and picks up his sword, foregoing throwing another dagger at this time. "A fortunate cast, even if it was less effective than I had hoped," the Gnome says to himself. "It is best to be chary when throwing towards one's own friend, after all. They can get petulant if struck, even if the intentions are good!"
Halmod lifts his sword and begins to make his way towards the fighter. "We will see if he shows proper diffidence to us, now," the Gnome says as he takes a practice swing with his blade.
OOC:
Would Halmod have enough time to attack this melee round? I kind of assumed not since he changed weapons and wasn't charging but rather closing with the fighter in a pretty crowded area.
