Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
The Journey back from the initial encounter with the bandits took the party roughly 1 hour & 3 1/2 minutes on horseback.
Then the Gnolls happened. The Gnoll battle took approximately 5 minutes.
Another 15 minutes spent searching the Gnoll's bodies.
From the party vantage point they can see they are almost out of the forest, they can see the Keep from where they are.
The Party figures the Gnolls may have been scouting the Keep.
The Time of day is roughly 5:10:30p.m. now, after all of the above is finished.
The sun will set around 7:54pm. The Moon is Waxing (89.6% full) tonight (April 11, gametime) & was visible since 3:34pm.

Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
Nothing more was found on the Gnolls, other than the coins, & what looks like normal Chainmail & weapons.
Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
If Gus wanted to do the throat-slitting of Gnoll #5, that was OK with Luna!

Odderick says to the halflings, "The Gnolls seemed eager to see you fellows permanently silenced. You might keep that in mind when facing the Keep's justice. Cooperate, and you'll fare better with your enemies than you would have with your friends."
After cleaning his halberd, he says to the others, "We're nearly there, let's keep moving."

Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
When Back at The Keep
The following will be done quickly once at the keep. The time of day makes the time of our return trip a question. Oddrick will rule for the detached party on when to return.
Gus will go to the armor/smithy where he will sell 5 Gnoll chain mail, three 2 handed swords, 2 hand axes and a halberd -- assuming that none of these weapons appear "special".
Gus will then go to the tavern and spend a gold on a pint of mead which he will slam. He will then meet his brother at the pawn shop.
Clem goes to the pawn shop where he hopes they maintain deposit accounts like a bank. If so, Clem opens an account in the names of Niminis, Oakenfell, Lightwater, Holliday, Maxima, Cee and Oddrick.
Clem requests 10 "orders of withdrawal" (a note authorizing the possessor to withdraw from an account).
All of the party's coin and the silver ring will be deposited there.
The brothers will then confer with Oddrick, Rondoel, and Luna about their departure.
Oddrick will have to present the bandit's head in a bag for identification. LOL!

Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
While Gus and Clem busy themselves around town, Odderick will oversee handing the prisoners over, and reporting both the activity around the Lonely Tower and the apparent scouting of the Gnolls.
If Luna does not appear to have his own active agenda while in town, Odderick will ask him to come along, to help him recall relevant details.

Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
The Group makes it back to Lord Guido's Keep without further incident.
When GateKeeper Sabine opens the door you are all greeted by 26 Men-at-Arms, whom take the Bandit prisoners from you
& march them to the Keep's Dungeon.
Gus Headed to see the Armorer, Rafe Rankin, whom tells Gus to take the stuff to Quartermaster Moseley as he has more space, thus leaving room for his new stuff he makes.
Gus then heads over to see Moose Moseley & unloads the armor & weaponry.
Gus then heads over to the One-Eyed Cat Tavern, where he slams, a quick refresher pint of Mead, then hurries over to the Pawn shop bank.
Bro. Clem takes the coinage & silver ring to the Pawn shop bank, eyeing a sign saying that the place is under direct protection of the Keep.
Clem noticed Guards on the crenalated roof.
When entering Clem is greeted by a mercenary fighter with a battle axe & crossbow, inside the doorway.
After talking to the owner, Curly, a retired fighter, he has his clerk, a retired magic-user named Gregius, help Clem set up accounts.
As the accounts are set up Gus arrives & joins Clem.
Odderick & Rondoel meanwhile, informs the Captain of the Daywatch, Captain Crunche, about the Bandits, presenting him with a blood stained saddle-bag with a Bandit head in it.
Mentions that the party had split up, with the rest continuing to the Caves Area, tells of what was seen in the Lonely Tower area, & the Gnoll scouting party, then heads to the One-Eyed Cat Tavern.
After Bro. Clem & Gus Niminus finish at the Pawn Shop Bank they also head back to the Tavern.
Not sure what Luna Cee is up to just yet!

Clem and Gus Discuss
"Ok guys it is about 6:40pm. It took about 86/87 minutes to get to the Caves Valley, through the woods. And the sun sets just before 8:00 pm."
"If we leave this very moment we might find our party in the dark as the sun finishes setting. What is the best course of action?"

Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
Odderick: "It's a close shave, but I think I'd rather try to reunite with our comrades tonight than wait until morning. We could ask the Captain to assign some men-at-arms to us, if we felt the need to boost our numbers. Or if, as I hope, they are mounting an immediate survey of the Tower, we could accompany their force until we were nearly there."

Skradergie
Gus suggests to Oddrick that the marching order back be Rondoel in front with the humans in the middle and the Niminis brothers in the back forming a triangle. This because of the twilight and the demi-human infravision.

If Luna had business he can post it. Otherwise, off we go.

Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
Nordbo asks the nearest available party member "Do you know if one can buy leather armour around here ? If so I'd like to do that, if time (and money) permits."
Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
Magic-Users can not wear normal (non-magical) armor, as the game says it interferes with their ability to cast spells.
Though i personally can't see how at least a leather armor vest could interfere for example.
You will likely find other magic items & robes that help reduce the Magic-User's Armor Class!

Re: Chapter 3.2: Back to Lord Guido's Keep
At the One-Eyed Cat tavern, the party is met by a Guardsman that informs them:
"Good Day Sirs! The prisoners have been taken to the Keep's Dungeon where they are to be cleaned up & given new clothing & then questioned."
"Lord Macsen & Castellan Devereux have ordered a Scout party be sent forth & would like you to lead them tonight."
"It is asked that you all appear at the Common Stables within an half hour from now!"

OK GM thanks for leather armour reply - I had forgotten the m.u. restrictions, sorry

Clem:
Clem asks the guard to have Lord Macsen & Castellan Devereux meet them ASAP as the Oddrick detachment intends to rejoin the main party and day light is a concern.
