What Gods are we using in this, and is there anywhere I can read a bit about them?

Wow, really? I have never had a problem upgrading Ubuntu. In fact, there were a couple of cases where upgrading fixed drivers. I've never experienced a problem. Then again, I tend to stay with the LTS versions.

For simplicity's sake, I am using the deities from Small Niche Games' Chronicles of Amherth. A simple breakdown of them:
  • The One - creator of the universe, created the Gods and put everything in motion. Very few worshippers
  • Greater Gods
    • The Great Father - God of Men, Fatherhood, Honor, Patience, Storytellers, Vitality, Wisdom and Guidance, the Sun
    • The Great Mother - Goddess of Women, Motherhood, Wholesomeness, The Home, Crafts, Healing, Family (Safety of), the Earth
  • Lesser Gods
    • Jesil - Goddess of Desire (Lust), Spite, Trickery, Fire, the Moon, Success, Wealth, Songs and Music
    • Lodor - God of War (Might), Strength, Brute Force, Mountains and Volcanoes
    • Rangeth - God of Law, War (Tactics), Intelligence, Wealth (Commerce), Civilization, Truth, Stars
    • Viltae - God of Excellence, Pride, Love (Unrequited), Independence, the Hunt, the Sky
    • Pannas - Goddess of Water, the Sea, Independence
  • Demigods
    • Delaeth - Goddess of Spring, Life, Good Health, Fertility, Planting
    • Kiri - Goddess of Summer, Youth, Laughter, Kindness
    • Bromaltas - God of Autumn, Sadness, Farewells, The Harvest
    • Hool - God of Winter, Cold, Sickness, Greed, Aging, Death
There are also a number of beast, nature, and Demonic cults that pop up and local in extent.

One of the biggest differences in how Amherth handles Gods is that they can have any number of names and aspects. In Greek and Roman mythology, Zeus and Jupiter were the same god. Now take it a little further and pretend that Odin was also the same entity as Zeus and Jupiter. You would have one entity worshipped in multiple places, just a different name and slightly different aspect. Uto worships Wotan. We haven't worked out the specifics, but Wotan could be an aspect of The Great Father, just called Wotan in Uto's home area. There are also Saints who are worshipped. These are very localized deities and represent very minor aspects of the gods. Their worship is typically not found outside the region where-in their churches and shrines are found. A perfect example is St. Ygg. You didn't explore the village enough to find his church, but he is locally worshipped in Helix. St. Ygg is an aspect of Hool and represent's Hool's fight against the undead.

The easiest way to break it all down is to say the gods are entities of immense power. Mortals worship various aspects of them and these aspects are represented in a multitude of ways. It is possible (though very rare) to have worshippers of an evil aspect engage in battle with worshippers of a good aspect of the same god. The god in question doesn't care, as long as the conflict furthers his/her agenda.

So make up a deity of your choice. Just let me know the aspects the deity follows and how wide spread the worship is. Most aspects do not pass political boundaries. So you will rarely find the same exact worship in two different countries. There is some bleed sometimes (like when the vikings settled in other countries and their beliefs blended with the local beliefs) but the originating locale would need to be close by geographically.

I hope I explained it well enough. I tend to babble and ramble about this stuff.

I'm angling towards a God of the Forge, an aspect of Lodor.

No offense ladies, but can we pick up the pace. We haven't had an encounter yet and everyone is mincing about. Uto is going to start singing hymns and when he sings he sounds like a dying cat. :P

That's partly on me. Been a busy week at work already; to the point where I am bringing some home at night. Which sucks, as a computer tech it means remoting into client machines.

No worries. That was me last week. I took two days off and you would think I was gone for 6 months with everything that piled up.

LoL. Before I started this campaign, I took off 2 weeks. I was above my use it or lose it time; HR was bending the rules because they knew our schedule wasn't allowing for time off, but they wanted me to get some time off in. The mess I walked back into... I think it took me half the week just to figure out which end was up.

Does the smell remind Uto of the undead, those foul creatures who refuse to fully die?

There is much about the grave lingering in the smell, however the smell is so old and so powerful that you can not discern how much is natural and how much isn't.

Should we list out the marching order? Uto took point and then Dren pushed ahead to check for traps.

So the marching order is:

Dren
Uto
?
?
?
?

Is the top of the map North? If not, which direction are we marching?

The corridor ran to the West, so North is the bottom of the map.

Mortiganto is basically should-to-shoulder with Pyrrhic, assuming these halls are ten feet wide.

That way we can block the retreat of Dren and Uto, ensuring our survival by feeding them to the monsters

That is correct. North is the top of the map.

Yes, the halls are 10' wide. One block = 10'.
