New here, but not new to gaming

#1 Post by Spartakos »

Hello All,

Long-time gamer (mostly DM) here; for the past few years I've been hanging out at Dragonsfoot and getting back into old-school gaming. But I was told about this board for PbP, so I thought I might throw my hat in the ring as a player for once.

Looking forward to having fun. Feel free to ask questions if you're curious. :)

Cheers,
Spartakos

Hey Spartakos! I've seen you over on DF. You have a pretty cool avatar (or whatever they are called) IIRC!

Welcome, welcome! You're first two posts are moderated, then you should be a full fledged member. Hope you find, or start, some games to your liking!

My friend Alethan will be along in a bit with the Orientation packet. ;)

Be well and be welcome!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Welcome, Spartakos!

Sounds like you probably don't need much direction, but if you have any questions about running a game here, you can start with this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=32&t=859

Playing in a game here:

viewtopic.php?f=33&t=858

Lots of really well written "How Do I..." information here:

viewforum.php?f=2

The Unseen Servant Dice Roller is available for you if you don't already have a dice roller selected. We have some pretty cool features on ours, including character sheets that can be posted in your game folder under a character thread. Lots of help available on the Dice Roller site, but if you have any questions about anything there, just ask.

Oh, and if you are interested in being a GM on the Unseen Servant, you might check out this thread, fill out the appropriate form, and send it to me.

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2417

It isn't necessary, to be sure, but it helps players know a bit about you and your GM style before they sign on. Useful for those players who are interested in making sure their play style meshes well with the GM's gaming style.

Any other questions, just ask.

Cheers,

Al

Welcome to the Unseen Servant! We like long walks by the beach, candle lit dinners, crying during the move: Titanic, and the occasional Dungeon Crawl!!

Hey everybody, thanks for the welcome (especially thanks for the links, will probably come in handy). I have had some IRL stuff keeping me from doing too much extra gaming (aside from running my game on DF), but now I'm getting back into things a bit.
