Re: OOC
no bonuses for me though nothing related to being a cleric is 16 or above. So all set.

Re: OOC
@Spiderdown: I didn't realize Muriel was also a mage. Tella would be happy to share her spellbook and the recovered one with her. Spread that magic!

So, the spells from the wooden spellbook were:
-Burning Hands (damaged
- Dancing Lights
- Shocking Grasp
- Spider Climb
- Floating Disc
Was that all of them?

Re: OOC
That's what the GM said was in the book. If you would like to copy something from Tella's book you are welcome to if the GM agrees.

Re: OOC
OK, my current list is:
Affect Normal Fires - Lvl1
Hold Portal - Lvl1
Read Magic - Lvl1
Shield - Lvl1
Shocking Grasp - Lvl1
Levitate - Lvl2
Web - Lvl2
Tella is welcome to them.
Is the Burning Hands learnable? Or is the book too damaged?

Re: OOC
The burning hands might be able to be corrected: base chance of 40% + intelligence score + wizard level (roll under this number).
-After updating spells and leveling up, Tella and Muriel have an active thread in the Waterdeep adventure in the mage shop. (If you can actually repair the damaged Burning Hands spell it will improve the worth of the spell book!)
- I'm also waiting on Cormack or DAgmar to second the trade with Balthar before proceeding.

Re: OOC
Glimble will soon return to the others after doing his clerical duties at the temple no need to continue on with him until he is back with the others and informs them of the apartment locations.

Re: OOC
Once you guys get some real gold from hawking your items, you may want to come up with a system of distribution. You had some assorted platinum, gold, and silver coin, and then you will get some from Baltharr.
You may want to give each party member a share and then create a "party expenses" fund, which can cover rent, food, and Yawning Portal fee's, etc.... Just putting in my 2 cents, feel free to split the wealth as you like.

Re: OOC
I was thinking if there is some sort of banking business in Waterdeep we could invest there and just take out what we need to pay expenses unless we can establish a tab at some of the local places.

Re: OOC
I hope everybody had a good Easter Weekend (for those that celebrate).
I'll wait another day for folks to think a little about the decisions and post (magic items, apartment location).
I'll start collecting new HP's, THACO's, and AC's and post them in my Battle Stats thread.
Ylinnet - smithing armor with the proficiency is definitely cheaper than purchasing. But there are some up-front costs (tongs, hammers, raw stock, bellows, etc...) for shop setup and it takes a LONG time to make armor. I can do a little research into the exact costs and timing if you want me to work something out.
Also, my wife is about to give birth to our first baby, so after delivery my posting rate may get a little spotty for a week or so while I work through the new schedule.

Re: OOC
No worries Darkmane. Again congrats! and I am sure at this time frame we are pretty good to go on hold if need be.

Re: OOC
Quick Apartment tally:
-Cormack and Thorax would like the massive villa, Heroes Rest.
-Glimble is interested in the 2 floor apartment in the Trade's Ward.
Each choice has merits and flaws:
If no one else chimes in, I guess we are going with Heroe's Rest. It is large enough to sleep ~40-45 people when you add in the guest wing. Your company would be living in the family suite which has around 6 bed rooms, all of which are large. You would need to sign a year lease with 1 month collateral. There are many bathrooms, and amenities. It is set up nestled in the side of the mountain, and the road leading up to it has trees and landscaped terraces. It is surrounded by a wrought iron gate, and you only have ~ 4 neighboring villas. Alternately, the apartment in the city put you right in the hustle/bustle, and everything you need is just a few blocks away.
The suspicious among you (Muriel?) realize that renting Heroe's rest may make you a target for thieves and gossip by the nobility (the Company of the Crazed Venturers lived there!), and it will be more expensive and difficult to maintain -> you will probably end up needing some staff on hand. The apartment in the city, would allow you to blend in and remain quite anonomous for a while. The city apartment would require very little maintanence, and no retainers.
By living in the villa, you would probably be able to integrate with the nobility of the city (or they may push their way in). The city apartment would keep you right in the center of the "street" level action, you would be subject to the rumors and happenings of the common folk of waterdeep.
