Character sheet updated with xp and monies. As I must divide my xp between Fighter and Thief I just barely miss gaining level 2 as a thief. Fiddlesticks! Think how much better at almost getting electrocuted by magically trapped doors Oz would have been!! Sigh...

On a side note, anyone going to GaryCon this year? I think I am on Saturday/Sunday. The only game I got into was Ernie Gygax's Hobby Shop Dungeon on Sat. But I figure I'll find some pick up games like last year.

Ok, now taking the time to update the character I just realised that Ogirdor also got a level on cleric.

Ragboneshopper, I've rolled my hp for level 2 below. If you would prefer do do this type of roll yourself let me know the numbers and I'll adjust accordingly.

[1d8] = 7 +2 Con = 9. Halved due to multiclassing = 4 hp.

First, apologies ... AGAIN ... for not getting a new thread going. My busy week was hit by some real life sh*t going down, and I can't even think about it tonight. I'll get the new thread up in the next few days, though, and I'll post here so everyone gets notice when it happens.
onlyme wrote:just to be clear, we had 1493 from the beginning + this 50 new XP, correct?
X10% bonus, so Malone has 1697?
Yes, that looks right for Malone.

Congrats on the level, Ogirdor! Yes, rolling it yourself is fine. And if I get suspicious :o I can always look it up, so no biggie about posting it here... :D

Sorry you missed it, Chub, but this new way of doing XP should help lessen the wait somewhat... I hope. And no GaryCon for me, though I'd dearly love to. My kids want to go too, but it's just not happening this year. I'll be happy to hear any good stories about Ernie's game though! :D

Chub, have a look at this post by Vargr

viewtopic.php?p=14202#p14202

Ozborn had already earned a total of 1,508 xp back when Vargr was DMing, so with the points now distributed by Ragboneshopper you should probably have reached lv 2 in thief.

Edit: Hmm, crap, having a second look at that post it seems that it had been edited by you ragboneshopper. Now I'm confused... are the total indicated there the total amount we have earned thus far? If so then please ignore my previous post and Ogirdor is still at lv 1 in both classes.

Thank you zeb. I took a gander at this thread. I must say Thurinor having only a 33% sex appeal is much too low for Sael the suave.

His sheet had 500-something when I added rags' xp, so he's still first level. Varg had 1500something given in that thread. If correct I'm 2nd. This is not so important however as that sex appeal injustice. Cousin Legalos cannot have more groupies than Thurinor.

Character sheet updated to level 2.
I rolled a 6 for additional hit points. [1d8] = 6

Ragn, what about additional spells? Andrin has acces to 2nd level spells now. Do I have free choice among all 2nd level spells in the OSRIC rulebook?

Ok, I think now I understand. The post I linked above was updated by rag so it shows the total amount of xp earned by Ogirdor.

Apologies for the confusion guys!

Real quick, to respond to Zeb, I don't remember vargr ever awarding XP. I could be totally wrong about this tho. If he did, then my numbers would duplicate somewhat and replace what he had awarded. I believe I have awarded more overall than he would have (due to bonuses, etc), so shall we just go with the overall number I've awarded, for simplicity? Or not? I'm very open to discussion on this and want everyone happy with where they're at going forward, so do chime in with your thoughts.

Thanks, Zeb, for bringing this up! Total fail on my part, apparently...

I think he did an xp distribution after the stairs or forest animal, somewhere like that.

I like the idea of just using your number and not sifting through posts looking for old values...

I'm fine with that approach as well. He did hand some xp at some point because I had some numbers in my charactet sheet. Those numbers would overlap with what you just awarded so I don't think there will be any loss of experience.

I wish I could go to Garycon, and Gencon for that matter, unfortunately family/work prevents it. I'd like to hear how it goes, what is that dungeon of Ernie's? The only con I can get to is my local one Totalcon in MA. They have an OSR track and I got into Frank Metzner And Tim Kask games which were fun. Kask is so gleeful after all these years about killing characters. His DM screen says "TPK World Tour 2014." We playtested some Mayan adventure that Eldritch may publish. Also played some Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers which is great on setting, and DCC Tales from the Fallen Empire with its author Jim Carpio.

Hey guys, I'm just going to stop apologizing (gee, that sounds like an apology, doesn't it! ) and re-affirm that we'll get this thing going again as soon as possible. Not going to be today, honestly, and probably not before Sunday. I've had some personal things that are ongoing and that I have to keep an eye on. Haven't really been in the state of mind to get back to UK5 before now, but it will happen, no worries.

So anyway, do have all your new hit dice rolled and applied for those who have leveled, pick spells (I PMed SirClarence on this, but Andrin does get 2nd level spells even though Stonjuz does not -- I want to be clear because 1e has all these little wrinkles that keep the classes fairly balanced even though if you just look at it level by level it can appear they're not balanced or "fair" at all).

You can also roll your healing rolls for resting overnight and let me know what you get so that I can update the HP tally. For help, see your healing factors on the HP tally thread (viewtopic.php?f=45&t=652) and roll the first die given (the second die is for a whole day of rest, the third item is the number of days to get back to positive HP if you fall below 0 HPs). Of course, that assumes you are only resting overnight. If you decide to rest for a whole day, you could then also roll the second healing factor die after the whole day of rest is complete. However, in that case there would be a chance of a random encounter (no chance of random encounter for the overnight rest -- I'm saying this is a safe/holy place for the night due to your actions in restoring the Kharg horse lord's honor, a thing you all can sense).

You can also ask Ston for CLW if he has any left since he'll be resting and regaining spells, that sort of thing...

I'll try to get caught up with any and all of these moves, finish up the old thread, and post the new thread over the weekend! Thanks again for your patience!

Grog, I missed this post before. I'm green with envy. Love AS&S, great setting! I've run DCC in Hyperborea, which pairs fairly well with some tweaks to demihumans. A while back I was playing around with making DCC subclasses based on the various human subclasses in the AS&S system, but haven't implemented that in-game. Not as familiar with Carpio's Fallen Empire, but it's DCC and I'm a big fan of DCC. Did Carpio run a 0-level funnel or was it higher level?

Not for the first time, Ston, I'm very jealous of your living in the same town as Tim Kask...

If I'm not mistaken Ogirdor did not cast any spell during the day before we camped in the burial site. If that's ok with you Ragbone I would have him casting CLW on those who are injured before we slept.

Rag - I added my new hp (5) to give me 15 from 19 as thought you meant us to complete level up. Let me know if this not correct.

Zeb - are you a (proper) football fan? Just under a 100 days to go I believe. Assuming you are interested - are any of them close enough to you to be able to go? Are tickets easy to get? Will you go to any games?I am excited and Englannd have no chance of winning!

Yes I am and I have managed to get tickets for 2 games in my hometown Porto Alegre. I've also applied for a couple more here in Sao Paulo and for the final in Rio but had no luck with those. At this stage it's probably difficult to buy tickets for any of the interesting matches although I am not sure how hard this would be for non-brazilians (Fifa has several different selling schemes).

One year ago I was negative about the games, disappointed as I am with football outside the four lines and with all the crap and corruption that took place in preparation for the event. In fact, by the time I moved back to Brazil I was planning to take some holidays out of the country when the games started. As it drew close however I ended up getting more involved and now I can't wait until June.
