"Hmm where has Tumbler gone off too?" Robert ponders out loud.

Sword drawn, Vorkath joins the others in disarming the suits of armor. He approaches cautiously, wanting to confirm the stains are not a type of slime, jelly or mold before he gets too close.

"Don't go far Tibby," he says. "Can your cat familiar go ahead of us to act as alarm?"

"Vorkath the cat probably could if Tibbius the gargoyle hadn't snatched him up."

Agrippo faces back to the entry hall and sets his spear ready to impale any gargoyle that isn’t holding a cat. None of the gargoyles pursue, however.

Gargoyle-Tibbius, Randolph Cat cradled in his hands, flies to the bend in the passage.

Robert, Iluq, and Vorkath cautiously approach the suits of armor. The brave adventurers step carefully in front of the stained suits of armor, and approach the alcoves. The suits of armor do not move.

The maces appear to be firmly welded to the armor, and cannot be removed.

"Alright that appears to be in vain so let us move forward. Thanks for checking with me sorry for my paranoia." Robert says to Iluq and Vorkath. "Always better to be safe than sorry later." then Robert smiles and moves forward following the gargoyle with the cat in it's claws.

Robert replies to Iluq "Truth be told I have been in situations before where I regretted not checking something over before going past it. I am just lucky to be alive to have learned from it all." with that Robert winks and continues on.

Relaxing, gargoyle-Tibbs sets down Randolph, who for this past little while has been squirming and ineffectually scratching at his companion's presently stony skin. The cat immediately sits down and cleans between his toes, then leisurely stands and struts forward with his tail held high.

The landing has two staircases leading up, one to each side of the alcoves. Which do you take?

Randolph Cat carefully explores his way up the stairs. Though he is no ‘fraidy cat, Randolph proceeds with all the caution of an animal that is used to being both predator and prey. You follow, your normal marching order adjusted slightly as Agrippo guards the rear. The bats grow bored with you* and flutter away as you begin to ascend the stairs.

At the top of the stairs, a large room opens before you. Dim light from the courtyard falls into this room in jagged shafts through the broken glass and iron frames of a large window in the west wall. This immense room stands in chilly, brooding darkness. Hundreds of dust-thick cobwebs drape the room, hiding the ceiling from view. Directly across from the window are double doors in the east wall. Ornate carvings in the door are obscured by a thick layer of dust. Further south, a single door also leads from the east wall. At the far southern end of the hall, a huge throne stands atop a raised platform. The back of the throne is turned to the room.

"Ah good evening again lord." Robert says to the back of the throne, scimitar still in hand.

Tibbius flies along the west wall of the room to a place where he can view the seat of the throne; at the east wall, Randolph scampers to get a view of the same, from the other side. "I gather from your very patient response to our entirely rude behavior, that you are an extremely complex person," Tibby says in a grating stony voice. "Please accept my apologies for acts that I entirely did not expect."
