If your character walked into the fight with a full 34 hit points, and took 12 damage, the ministrations provided should bind your wounds and heal 2 points of your character's health, bringing your current hit point total to 24.onlyme wrote:Does that effectively bind the wounds? "Through the gates men!" yells Deceidon, urging the soldiers on from his middle position in the pack.
Deceidon eyes the top of the wall for any bandits and will fire at them. If not, he'll fire at any bandits in front of their charge toward the gate.

my bad... thanks
Whitsell will follow in line with the others, weary that his serious puncture doesn't get worse before this is over.

Re: Chapter 3: The truth lies in the mountain...
The group charges through the main gates and into the bandit camp, ready to face another horde of the pathetic bandits. Not this time. Instead, they are greeted by only 6 of them, they seem a bit tougher however, well on their guard and prepared to duke it out. Just as you all are about to charge in two more figures step into view. 8-Finga Joe and his lieutenant. Clad in plate mail, a hulking man of apparent authority amongst the bandits, his entrance is grand and Captain Hal is quick to recognize him. "That one is mine, and mine alone, he says to the adventuring group." Turning now to face the bandit leader he says in a loud and distinct shout, "I have a score to settle with you Joe, prepare yourself!"
"This goes far beyond grudges and gold boy! We serve a greater purpose now, a much more grand design then petty thievery. We will be the shaper of new worlds, and you will not get in the way of that! MEN, CHARGE!"
Captain Hal rushes towards 8-Finga Joe and enters an epic duel of flashing steel and flying sparks. The bandits now are charging at your group. You will not be able to execute multiple attacks on these guys, so go with your normal roll patterns for now. Gustov and his basic dual dagger attack and everyone else with their single strikes.
Actions and rolls.
I will provide a map later today, gotta charge my laptop first.

Re: Chapter 3: The truth lies in the mountain...
Flynn squares off against one of the men. A lazy flourish of his rapier in the air, as If uninterested.
"Was it you that trained those others to fight? " he says smiling.
"I've seen better sword play from children with sticks." he taunts.
"A lesson is in order I'd say. Sadly you won't live to teach it to others. "
Rapier to hit roll [1d20+7] = 14+7 = 21 Damage [1d6+3] = 4+3 = 7

Re: Chapter 3: The truth lies in the mountain...
Here is an update post on the situation at hand. The four bandits that retreated into the bandit camp, are now on the front lines again. They are still susceptible to multiple attacks. Amberlynn stayed behind in the fighting pit to tend to severely wounded soldiers; there are currently only three soldiers left on the front lines who can fight. This will make sense when I post the map shortly. Feel free to edit your posts to reflect this new information before I begin the next combat round.

Re: Chapter 3: The truth lies in the mountain...
Deceidon quickly surveys the battle field and hears 8-Finga Joe's ominous words. They have magical implications. Is the bandit leader involved with the rogue mage? he wonders. We should question him.
Deceidon runs to the right and between the two barracks, north three squares, then up behind Joe for a backstab. If Hal has injured Joe heavily, Deceidon will do a regular rear attack as he doesn't want to finish him off.

Re: Chapter 3: The truth lies in the mountain...
I went ahead and rolled for you Gustov, I hope you don't mind too much, need to keep this moving.
Bandits won intiative. Deceidon, finding the clash between Captain Hal and 8 Finga-Joe to be more interesting, slips by the skirmishes and rounds around the tents to attempt a backstab attack. He fails, however, as Joe's liuetenant comes rushing in to the defense, cutting into Deceidon for 4points of damage. The fighter thief is taken by surprise from this attack, thinking that he was sneaky enough, and is unable to counterattack.
Flynn demonstrates his swordsmanship once more with a flare and loads of taunting. "Was it you that trained those others to fight?" he says smiling. "I've seen better sword play from children with sticks." Two bandits try to attack Flynn, but both miss their target. "A lesson is in order I'd say. Sadly you won't live to teach it to others." The bandit at the recieving end of Flynn's rapier takes 7 points of damage but still stands and looks even angrier. These bandits are a bit tougher than the previous ones he surmises.
The bandits in camp start to take the advantage and quickly loses it, like the flow of tides. Back and forth, back and forth, the bandits land their hits on the soldiers, wounding them, and then take wounds of their own. Gustov is quick to show them that his daggers sting and that they will not last long if they tangle with him. Though he has not dropped any bandits yet, the fighter thief makes his point by heavily wounding one of the bandits. Whitsell, however, shows hesitation in battle, sticking his sword out, hoping to hit someone who is charging him. No such luck. He misses the bandit in front of him as does the bandit as well, but another from before attacks Whitsell from the side, exploiting his opening and dealing 6 points of damage.
Mial and another soldier shows excellent peformance as they both take down one of the tougher bandits. One bandit has fallen, four are injured, and the party has taken some hits. Meanwhile, in front of the big tent in the camp, Captain Hal and 8-Finga Joe both go at each other with what looks like equal strength. Joe swings wide on his first strike and Hal takes advantage of the opening with a quick strike of his own, finding its way through Joe's plate mail. Enraged by his minor injury, Joe swings his blade once more, this time finding its target and cutting Hal for minor damage as well. Both of the proud fighters do not give up any ground and it would appear as if both are in a class all of their own. Deceidon is able take in that much from his quick observation from behind. Even then though, he is distracted by the lieutenant clad in chain mail, his fresh wound a painful reminder!
Actions and rolls please. Will update the map later.

Quick now. he thinks. Deceidon fakes a big moan pain, lowers to one knee (grabbing dirt), then launches up into the lieutenant.
He leads with dirt thrown into the bandit's face, hoping to blind, his sword thrusting into gut.

Whitsell attempts to withdraw, while the masses are fighting the bandits.
If he can tell he succeeded, he will bind his wound. If not, he will parry.

Will give NJWilliam enough time today to get his post in. If he doesn't by the time I update the map with my laptop around 3:00 PM EST, I will roll for him again and move things along.
Re: Chapter 3: The truth lies in the mountain...
I apologize for the delay in the map update; it's now posted.
The skirmishes continue to wage on into a second round of combat. The bandits start to lose more of their numbers, but find that there is no longer anywhere else to run to, they fight to their deaths! Flynn personally teaches one of them a lesson in humiliation, while Gustov takes down two himself in a flurry of dagger strikes; however, he drops his good elven dagger in the process due to a fumble in his footwork.
Whitsell manages to retreat to the pit area safely, having Amberlynn bind his wound. She can no longer provide any further ministrations on him, only once for each person a day. Mial and one of the soldiers steps up the next set of bandits and helps provide cover for said retreat. Kitra, on the bow, takes down a bandit close to Gustov, almost grazing the fighter/thief's cheek, almost. She gives Whitsell the go signal as all is clear on her end, allowing him to pass by safely. There are only 5 bandits left, and 8-Finga Joe.
Deceidon is caught in a quick scuffle with the lieutenant, but through quick thinking on his part and luck he is able to take down the man with ease. Dirt to the face and swift jab into the gut, breaking through chain mail, if not for the fact that this was all done in the shadows of a nearby tent, the display of battle prowess would have been impressive to watch. Meanwhile, just a few feet away, Captain Hal and 8-Finga Joe still wage their own personal battle. Blows are parried, and swings are missed. Classic textbook examples of how warriors should fight in a duel. They almost look like they are having fun too, but everyone knows this would be a fight to the finish. Deceidon scans the fight for an opening, but the two men keep on moving around, shuffling back and forth in their footwork.
No damage inflicted to the adventuring party this round, actions and rolls everyone!

"Don't die yet don't die," thinks Deceidon as he manuveurs wide around so Joe hopefully won't see him. He attempts a subdual damage backstab hit on Joe's head with his sword hilt.
Re: Chapter 3: The truth lies in the mountain...
Whitsell, feeling the pain from two massive injuries, remains in a defensive position. He will parry any attack, but not look for one, himself.

Flynn will head over to the bandits by Gus.
If he reaches one with time to kill:
Rapier to hit roll [1d20+7] = 4+7 = 11 Damage [1d6+3] = 6+3 = 9
