Port Llast - The Quarry

Thurm
While the group is checking the apparent tracks, Thurm goes poke his nose under the rotten wood, moving some of it aside with the tip of his sword.

Ari looks at both the holes and the thread, wary of vermin and arachnids and other smelly beasties. In her mind she hums a merry tune, hoping it keeps such thoughts at bay.

Re: Port Llast - The Quarry
The companions are cautious...as they should be. Several check out the tracks and strange holes in the dirt, and surmise this could be a spider's den...especially with all the webs. And...waitaminute! Are those bones? Moving a few feet closer, the group can see on the left edge of a cave opening what appear to be bones of some sort...and opposite the bones is a strange looking...mushroom? Not only is it unusually shaped, it appears to be purplish in color.
While they are checking out the tracks, Thurm as wandered back to the pile of wood and is poking through it with his sword. The wood is so old and rotted it basically comes apart...to reveal what appears to be a skeletal arm with hand still attached! There is no flesh, just bone. And...are the bony fingers clutching something?
By the way, how is Moan able to see in the dark?
I think maybe Brade has a lantern...am I right?

Moan
Does Moan's magic sword glow if he commands it to? If so he will use that, otherwise he will use a torch.
"I don't like the look of that mushroom thing."
Can he tell if the mushroom is the source of the drag marks?

Thurm
The curious dwarf takes a further look at the skeletal arm, trying to see what it is the bony fingers might be holding - "Well now, what have we here?"

He's definitely heard of Shriekers > tall mushrooms with purplish tops that will let out a wail if anything gets too close...alerting everything within hearing distance. This strange looking shroom doesn't look like a shrieker though.

Raz not sure what is going on around the corner slowly walks over "What's going on over here you guys find some....oh well I wasn't expecting that." he starts off and changes his tone seeing the odd purple mushroom.

Moan
Moan readies his bow, armed with non-magical arrows.
"Do we see what happens from back here if I shoot it?"

Ari stops in her tracks at the sight of the mushroom. She readies her bow but doesn't for now point it at the thing. She wasn't sure if it was enemy or foe.
And the hungry player thinks maybe she'll make pasta alla boscaiola for dinner.

Re: Port Llast - The Quarry
By the light of Brade's lantern, Moan prepares to fire upon the hapless human-sized mushroom, while Barin invokes the power of his borrowed hammer, bathing himself and the area around him in a reddish glow. Ari readies her bow as well, and Raz is obviously unsettled by the giant shroom.
Grumble is not grumbling for the moment and Mag is supportive of the ranger's plan.
Meanwhile, Thurm turns the bony hand over with his sword and sees it is clutching a rotting leather pouch.
"Well now, what have we here?"
Actions?

Moan
"Here goes nothing."
Moan fires 2 arrows at the mushroom.
SC Bow [1d20]=1 [1d20]=18 to hit [1d6]=2 [1d6]=2 damage
First shot is a natural 1.

Grumble has held his tongue but started to get a bad feeling in his stomach a bit too late. "Why poke something that might be best left alone?" he thinks to himself.
He opens his mouth to voice his apprehension too late as Moan's arrows fly.
