Hot Times in Slateholm 6/23-24

I'd be in for this too. Gaurbal just wants to have enough to buy some chain mail after (60gp) and a bit for supplies, which certainly looks doable.

Having already entered the tavern, a big pointy black hat pokes out of the door at this point.

The bird's white beak snaps shut and he turns to hide it in his wing until Vurna goes back inside. Then he peeks a pale eye at Jake. "Oops"

I believe that we would have 110gp, so plenty for leather, or even 60gp for chain mail. Even if we each spent the additional 20gp on top to help the newcomers.

At this point there's only three waifs ready to party (Da, Elizabeth, Vurna). I think If Ohmir and Trawets don't speak up soon, that will cut down on the gold you're spotting us. So we'd get +1 each... and not sure if one Bard can "deejay" two parties going at the same time?

Ferd and Robin established at the Tavern for others to join.

While others are still bathing, Vurna enters the Trident and Shield and makes a point to look around for halflings. It would be no surprise to see Daisy Hodbringer (NPC) at the same table with Ferd and Robin. Assuming that is not a table built for halflings and it has another chair free, Vurna takes it. Assuming Daisy is present, she also collects on Daisy's offer of a free drink, ordering a cup of the local red wine.

She carefully removes the big hat and hangs it from the post of her chair, shaking free her long brown tresses.

"Zo! My fellow guilders, what can you tell me about this place?"

If we do it for both carouses the new PCs will bank up XP and be in a good position to likely level up after their first "crawl". ;)

Robin would be up for a double carouse! How better to learn about the city? Perhaps Ferd can keep him from losing all of his gold to questionable women!

OOC: Happy to have Daisy join Ferd and Robin in the tavern! And for Vurna to join them, I think Ferd and Robin haven't heard Daisy's job offer yet, so I'll repeat it here. I'm not trying to throw a wrench into Tiglith's plans, just give an alternative to those would prefer an adventure to a carouse, especially for the new folks.

Daisy waves to a young human male working behind the bar and says to Vurna, "Come to collect your free drink?"

"I was just about to talk to Ferd and his new pal Robin here about that little job I need to complete." Daisy says leaning in and lowering her voice, "I was sharing a wagon with a merchant by the name of Kessic yesterday on my way back up here from a bit of exploring down south, and we got to talking."

"Seems the Merchant's Guild here in Slateholm has been having a little pilfering problem." she says quietly, "Bits and bobs have been disappearing from a couple of warehouses on the docks. Not a lot, mind you, but enough to draw a little attention. Anyway, Kessic wondered if our Guild might look into his Guild's little problem. Just see what's going on, you know, information gathering."

"I asked what it'd be worth to them." Daisy grins adding, "And he said he'd give me 20 gold to find out who and how and report it back to him."

She grins and taps her nose, "I think he wants to be the one to tell the other merchants and earn some brownie points for being the one to figure it out."


"Now this isn't officially an Adventurer's Guild problem or job. We do our business outside of Slateholm, but 20 gold is 20 gold and Master Sikes says we're free to take on other jobs as long as we don't, ah hum..." she pauses and does a good imitation of Master Sikes' voice "Er, 'Bring disrepute on the Adventurer's Guild'...or something like that. So...."

"...I was thinking, with Vesper doing Vesper things tonight almost all eyes and ears will be focused on her antics this would be a good time to do a little snoop around those warehouses and see if we can discover how the pilfering is being done and if we find out how, maybe we can find out who and where they're taking whatever they are taking." Daisy winks, "Maybe recover some of the stolen goods and return them for a reward, sort of, you know?"

Robin stands up as the woman approaches and makes a small bow. "I'm Robin and this is Ferd. The lady is Daisy. I'm glad to meet you. Would you like to join us?"

"Hello, my name is Vurna. I met Daisy and Ferd just now at the guild hall. You have nice manners, Robin. I would love to join your party, thank you."

"You know the food is free, right? I like your hat a lot."

Vurna giggles at the halfling as she runs her small hand over the smooth leather of the hat. "Yes, Master Sikes told us about the free meals. Thank you Robin, some would say this hat is too big, but I find it practical in many ways. You know, one of the other guild ladies says she has a better hat, but I've not seen it yet."

"I see... " Vurna begins slowly, then purses her lips and leans closer. "These bits and bobs... could that be the doings of a third guild? I don't know if some kinds of theft are... you know, permitted in this town. Without official cover from our guild, we might not want to find ourselves mixed up in the, er... official activity of another guild. Do you, ah, know what I mean, miss Daisy?"

Elizabeth eases into a seat next to Vurna. She listens attentively to Vurna's and Daisy's conversation, but doesn't say anything.

Ferd offers a sincere welcome to Elizabeth as she joins the table of errant halflings, ordering her an ale and sharing the bread and cheese.

He offers a rousing tale of BARKLINGS - the schnauzer-men of the forests, stiff with dignity - and enjoys dinner as they plan to wash and clean up tonight and then meet tomorrow by second breakfast to begin a festive board.

Ferd will pass on the magic items for sale.
990gp after taxes is 247.5gp each for Ferd, Robin, Tinu, and Morvith.

He will throw in 60gp (20 for him, 20 for Vurna, 20 for Elizabeth) and go for a +1 party that is "a full day and night." Robin and others can pay 20gp to match. If more bring money, perhaps we can cover the group to the 60gp average?
