Hot Times in Slateholm 6/23-24
Re: Hot Times in Slateholm 6/23-24
Master Sikes speaks up saying to the group that escorted Mazie, "You lot dealt with the taxes on your finds, right?"
Adding to the group that has been clearing the sewers, "I know you didn't have to pay the tariff as you were still technically in the city, and that was part of your commission from the Duke, but I want to remind you that if you bring treasures back from the outside world during missions or while exploring you have to pay the 10% Duke's Tax."
"Not paying the tax will get you expelled from the Guild and a long term in a jail cell...at best." he finishes looking around at everyone, especially the new Guild Members, "That's just about the only rule, other than keeping the Map updated with whatever you discover...and not being total jackasses when dealing with each other or the towns people, of course."
"Now, I think there is a bath house two doors down to the south that I think all of you should become familiar with." Sikes says, "Nobody, me included, want the Guild Hall to smell like most of you smell. Your badges and 2 silver will get you a cleaning for your clothes and for yourselves. If you want other services there you'll have to pay the regular prices."
"Oh, and remember your Badges also get you two daily meals in the Trident and Shield." Sikes says, "Not fancy, but the meals are filling and the ale isn't too badly watered down, so take advantage of your Guild's benefits."

He claps Robin on the shoulder exuberantly. "First dinner and then the baths for us," he says as Vesper and her friends strip nearly-naked in the Guild Hall and head to the baths straight away. "I like to lounge in a bath on a full stomach." He grins. He waves Morvith along with them and knows Tinu will come or not on her own conscience.
...
At a quiet table with bread, cheese, and ale before them, Ferd dispenses his advice to the younger hobbit. "Keep your wits in the big city, lad. A woman like Vesper shows a good time, but the one thing for certain is that at the end of it, you will be poor again... and she probably will have the clothes of your back, at her own admission!" he chuckles. "There's no reason to throw away all your money at once. Keep your wits, mind the drink - there's no point in not remembering it either. I say - stay at the edge of their party, enjoy the spectacle, be more frugal with our own coin and drink. Stick with me and I will show that a good tale, a rowdy song, being good company, can be as good at netting drinks and enjoyment as spending coin... but at the end of it we still have a purse."
(Proposal: Ferd provides his Bard bonus to a more frugal group, spending 20 or 60gp each. We may be in the same pub crawls for RP purposes but will have a distinct roll. New PCs welcome to join this or Vesper's lavish party. Ferd's group has a minimumroll of 3 XP results, Vesper has a 180gp each and a minimum roll of 4 XP each. Vesper's worst roll can only result in losing 5% of your money but Ferd's worst rolls could lose 10% or 15% of your money. PCs could create a third group, but man, the Bard bonuses are good.)

Robin is quite enthusiastic about the idea of dinner. He's not as dirty as the others so food definitely comes first! He eats eagerly but politely. "Vesper is certainly something. I would like to watch her and the others perform but I'm not sure if I want too go to rowdy my first time in the city. I think it would be best for me to stick with you for now until I learned a bit more."Marullus wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:25 pm He claps Robin on the shoulder exuberantly. While the battle for young Robin's soul rages...
Vesper waves cheerfully as she nips into the Trident for a jug of wine and four goblets. It seems she and her company apparently have an appointment with a bath... and their gear an appointment with a stiff brush!
(OOC: Surely awkward interacting with new folk when you smell like... sewer with a definite hint of dead rat...
Time to avoid making that the first impression...

Galreth smiles as Elizabeth's reply.
Jake
"Hard tack, sure I'll eat that, but dunk it in Galreths ale first!"
"Aye girl, you will do fine. Anything you need, let me know."
Galreth looks around.
"I'm going to take a bath[, a ale is enough for now."/dialog]
Galreth heads for the baths.

By the time the sewer crawlers arrived in the Guild Hall there was one more standing with Elizabeth, Da, and the other newcomers: a dusky young woman dressed head-to-toe in fashionable black leather. Though certain to draw attention, her attire was perhaps a bit more modest than Vesper's.
... Quieter even than Elizabeth at first, Vurna sized up the sewer group and simply listened (and smelled)... that is, until one of the many quips from Vesper prompted her:
...
After that icebreaker, she introduces herself to the group, speaking Common with a hint of an accent. "I am Vurna, and like these others I just came on the ship Cinnamon. I am pleased to meet you all."
She is polite but reticent when meeting the Human men. She seems warmer toward the Halflings, and of course the extroverted Vesper. She gestures to her new Guild armband and adds, "I'm sure we will get to know one another shortly."
After introductions and words from Master Sikes, Vurna picks up her belongings and accompanies the others to the inn. In hand she takes what looks at first to be a polished, gnarled staff but is actually a broomstick, bound at one end with a bundle of scraggly rushes. As the group makes its short trip, a bird with black feathers and a paler beak alights from the Guildhall and flits toward the roof of the inn, settling to a new perch on an eave just above the colorful sign labeled TRIDENT AND SHIELD.

The girl finally broke into a mischievous smile and said: "A succubus... so would that be you?"

{Elizabeth}
Elizabeth gives Vurna's familiar a wave as she follows the others to the Trident and Shield.

Gaurbal
Gaurbal puts his boots back on, picks up the greaves and follows the others out.
"I'm going to the baths first, food after."

Tinu, who has silently observed the proceedings, walks to one side of the group with her attention on their surroundings.

Draven is for a bath and then carousing with Vesper and the crewe.
Re: Hot Times in Slateholm 6/23-24
Ferd and Robin established at the Tavern for others to join.
Re: Hot Times in Slateholm 6/23-24
Galreth and Jake are heading to the baths.
Re: Hot Times in Slateholm 6/23-24
Vesper is for bathing then drinking (not the bath water) likely with a meal first.

Vesper smiles at the playful challenge "On no! Succubi just hang around bars lazily beguiling Priests of Ord while I am the full package!" She snaps into spin and throws up an arm for dramatic effect breaking her pose to give a wicked smile as she adds "I cut my teeth on Priests of Ord!"subaltari wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 6:05 pm Quieter even than Elizabeth at first, Vurna sized up the sewer group and simply listened (and smelled)... that is, until one of the many quips from Vesper prompted her:
The girl finally broke into a mischievous smile and said: "A succubus... so would that be you?"
She continues cheerfully "Now that is an impressive hat... nearly as impressive as mine! Though before you go delving I advise you pick up some gear that can stand being dipped in... Ugh, I sooo need a bath!"
It would appear that Vesper has taken her own advice as she wears (admittedly only about half of) her adventuring gear with no "impressive hat" in sight.
(OOC: Apologies I nearly missed that your post!

Re: Hot Times in Slateholm 6/23-24
A buoyant Vesper calls over to Galreth "I'm getting wine to go with the bath" then links arms with the two warriors in the street and says to Gaurbal "You didn't say a word to Elizabeth! You should give her some encouragement - when we get to the bath house give her a wave with your loofah!"
She then states simply "Vurna has an impressive hat" then asks Draven casually "Did you notice it?"
