Early Afternoon, Unknown Day and Year
Venturing into the hitherto unexplored forest, the party finds a low lying gully in the forest, hoping to protect themselves from lightning strikes as the storm begins to bear down on them.
After a short while, the storm hits, bombarding the ground with plum-sized hail stones. As the line of hail approaches from the west, they have but a few moments to prepare themselves for the barrage.
Need avoidance saving throws from everyone as well as any other actions you might take to protect yourselves.
Caradoc Lvl4 Bard - 19/19 FA 3 AC 5
Akrisios Lvl4 Mountebank - 13/18 FA 3 AC 4

Grom Lvl4 Magician - 11/14 FA 1 AC 9

Re: (4) The Ritual Isle
Caradoc only tries to take refuge as best he can in the gully, squatting and lying against the wall and even using his small shield as cover.
Avoidance/Device ST [1d20+2]=13+2=15
Edit: Added the shield covering.

Early Afternoon, Unknown Day and Year
As the hail storm slams against the party, they take cover against the walls of the gully. Hailstones drop for a solid two minutes before subsiding, and though they are able to limit the exposure, some stones still manage to strike them, producing small welts on their largely exposed hands.
Grom takes a hailstone to the back of his head as he uses his arms to shield Dreary from the storm.
The already injured Grae takes a strong hit from a particularly large, apple-sized hailstone, injuring her off-hand, and as she reflexively grabs the injured appendage, she is struck again on her head by another hailstone.
Caradoc: 1 dmg
Zosime: 3 dmg
Cían: 1 dmg
Akrisios: 3 dmg
Kordrak: 3 dmg
Grae: 5 dmg
Grom: 7 dmg
Thankfully, the storm is brief as it is powerful - after just twenty minutes the thunder is moving away, and the rain slows to a drizzle.
Grom sends Dreary above the canopy to scout yet again - and from within the bounds of the forest, the raven spots something peculiar on the north end of the island, about 3 miles northeast.
It is a large clearing of grass, and at its center, the shape of a huge, white bird, apparently dug into the earth - its wings seem to stretch for nearly a mile wide.
Grom relays this information to the group.

"We should probably check it out."
But first, she casts CMW on Grae and CLW twice on Grom.
"Running low on spells now."
CMW [2d8]=9 CLW [1d8]=6 [1d8]=8
9 hp for Grae and 14 hp for Grom.

Re: (4) The Ritual Isle
It'd make more sense if you inverted that. Grom's gonna have excess hp that will be wasted and Grae will be way below her maximum.Rex wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 10:32 pm CMW [2d8]=9 CLW [1d8]=6 [1d8]=8

Caradoc stands up.
"That wasn't pleasant. But we have a new place we know we can investigate. Let's go there, before the alitae think on expanding their territory." He stands up and tries to soak his cloak as best he can before they depart.
Re: (4) The Ritual Isle
If allowed, yes. But I always declare who I am rolling for first since I wouldn't know how the rolls were going to come out. Maybe after the first CLW of 6 points the DM will allow me to use the last CLW on Grae?Karaunios wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 7:09 amIt'd make more sense if you inverted that. Oops. True. My bad.
Re: (4) The Ritual Isle
Yes, I'll allow that. So 17 for Grae, 6 for Grom.Rex wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 9:51 amIf allowed, yes.
