I want to keep all PC interactions that take place in the Guild Hall and the Guild's rooms upstairs to be kept in this specific thread. This is a place to start a new PC, talk to Guild Master Harold Sikes, interact with other Guild Members, and form parties.
Let's keep everything else out of this thread, if you please.

The Guild Hall 6/23
Ohmir, Elizabeth, Da and Trawets were more than glad when Cinnamon, the ship they had been traveling on, finally docked at a wharf in Slateholm. The trip across the wide sea from the north and east had been a rough one with storm after storm battering the ship. Everyone one of them had suffered from sea sickness at one time or another and getting their feet on solid, dry, land again cheered them no end!
Among all the 20 or so passengers these four had found a common ground. They were all travelling to Slateholm at the request of Duke John to join his Adventurer's Guild and had the papers from his agent to prove it.
As you four queued to leave the ship, you noticed a commotion on the docks. Several folks were confronting a child, but the child escaped and the four adults left before you could have intervened, even if you wanted to do so. Around the commotion work continued with little notice of it. You saw that several of the large warehouses lining the docks had armed guards posted outside who watched the stevedores going in with bundles and crates closely.
The queue proceeds at a snails pass and an hour passes before you can walk, somewhat unsteadily down the gang plank on to the wooden plants of the wharf. The ground is solid as you step onto the cobblestones, but your legs are still wobbly for a few steps as you relearn to walk on land.
The directions you had been given were clear and you walked through the dock workers up the street called Temple Road to where it intersected with Dock Road. On your left you saw a tavern with a sign outside proclaiming it as The Trident and Shield. You walked past it's wide doors and around the corner to the left onto Dock Road. There you saw a smaller sign posted on the wall next to a smaller door.
Adventurer's Guild read the sign. It appears you have arrived at your destination!
Pushing the door open to the sound of a bell jingling, you enter to find yourselves in the rather large windowless room, currently empty. A table and several chairs pushed back from it dominate the space. On one wall there is the painting of a rudimentary map showing what you think is the outline of the area around Slateholm, as Slateholm is the only named place on the map. On another wall is a large wooden board with a number of parchments pinned to it, above the board you read Job Board. At the back of the room is a corridor leading deeper into the interior and you can just make out a stair leading up at the back of that corridor.
You only look around for a moment before a man walks toward you from the corridor. He is wearing loosened, uncinched, leather armor and has a long sword hanging from his belt.
"Hello there!" he says, "I am Harold Sikes, Guild Master of The Adventurer's Guild."
"And might I ask who you might be?" he asks you politely all the while with one hand on the pommel of his sword.

Elizabeth
"Uhh, Elizabeth. Granddaughter of Madeera," says Elizabeth in a soft voice. She fumbles about in her pack for a moment, and pulls out the papers from Duke John. She holds them out. "Here."

Bowing at the waist to Guild Master, "I am Da, former guardsman at the Temple of Madeera. I have come to join your guild and bring an introduction from Duke John." He presents his papers to the Guild Master.

Trawets nods to Harold and then says My name is Trawets and I took have been recruited by the Duke. Excuse me while I whip this out. He then pulls out his papers from a pouch on his waist.

OOG: I've got a doctor's appointment today, so I won't post much until I get back from that. Just this...
Sikes takes the papers from each of you and looks them over nodding and says, "These look in order. Welcome to the Guild! I'll issue you badges, you'll want to wear them when you're in town, or at least have them available when dealing with the City Officials."
"One of the rules Duke John laid down for the Guild is that you only keep 9/10ths of any treasure you bring back from the wilds outside the city. The remaining 1/10th is a tariff on bringing treasure into his city. Non-Guild members have a 40% tariff imposed on them, so you see membership has its advantages." Guild Master Sikes tells you.
"As Members you have rooms available to you upstairs and meals here at the Trident and Shield." he says, "Drinks, meals elsewhere and entertainment you handle yourselves. Same with most equipment you might need."
"You can go out and explore as you will, but there is also the Job Board right over there." he points at the board on the wall, "Citizens, City Officials, the Church, and the Duke post jobs from time to time that you can undertake."
"Also, there is the map." Sikes points at the almost blank map on the wall, "The basic outline of the coast is there and Slateholm, but not much else. One of our jobs, as part of our charter with the Duke is to fill in this map by exploring the surrounding countryside."
Sikes pauses for a second looking at you, "I'll let you ask questions if you have any now."

Elizabeth
"Is there a vault or something to store our findings?" asks Elizabeth. She smiles bashfully. "Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but it seems walking around town with ancient treasures from past civilizations make us a target of the unscrupulous."

Re: In The Guild Hall ONLY
Trawets looks around at the others and then asks So do we just go out on our own or what? Will a group... draft us in or do I have to recruit some people myself? He looks very uncertain of himself and scared at the thought of him having to form a group.

"Thank you very much. I will check my room first and then take a look around if you don't mind." He ties the band around his arm as he talks. "There all official like."
