The Lost Cellar
Re: The Lost Cellar
Agis trips over his robe, almost colliding with Quintin, but catches himself, smoothes out his robe and clears his throat.
“Ahem. I do apologize for my tardiness.” He says.
“And what do we have here?” queerly staring at the wall.

Re: The Lost Cellar
Nolthar follows his companions down the ladder, and waits for someone to bring the lantern or provide some type of light to see by. He has his loaded crossbow in hand.
Winter is coming...
Re: The Lost Cellar
Antero looks a little put out. "I'm sorry, does not one of you have a torch or lantern of your own? This lantern is the only one I have and if I have to make my back up to the house..., well you saw. This is the second basement." He shrugs.
With the light you have right now, you can see the landing gives way to stairs going down across the span of 10 feet before it comes to another landing. It looks like the landing has an opening to the right once you get down there.
1 square = 5 ft. Light Source: Lantern held by Antero lasting ? (-45 minutes)
Presumably Antero knows how much oil is in the lantern; your characters do not.
Re: The Lost Cellar
Oggdrab casts a bovine look at Antero, then grunts: "Well, I guess you are right...". Then he brings out one of his torches and, given the permission, he uses Antero's lantern to light it up. Then he uses it to light the tunnels, and goes down the ladder when his turn comes.

Re: The Lost Cellar
With the light source settled Quintin heads down the stairs to the landing. He yells back up If you hear screaming and yelling and dying you might want to move.

Re: The Lost Cellar
I need to know the marching order. Remember player races have only normal vision regardless of your race. Source of light is very important in Shadowdark.
Re: The Lost Cellar
If I am not mistaken, Quintin went first, followed by Snorldrab and Nolthar before Oggdrab climbed down with a torch. Not sure about Agis and Blaghrog.
Downstairs, Nolthar seems to be willing to be last in the line up, his crossbow ready. Oggdrab brings out his broadsword as well.

Snorldrab will light a torch.

Re: The Lost Cellar
Nolthar will need to be at least next to the last in line, since he is carrying his crossbow and needs a torch/lantern to see by.

Re: The Lost Cellar
Blaghrog
Blaghrog can be closing the march, but he might not be immediately able to heal someone in the frontlines if needed.
Also I think my HP might be wrong (I have 2
) - are we starting with max HP at level 1, or not really?

Re: The Lost Cellar
Marching order (front to back): Quintin, Snorldrab (t), Nolthar, Oggdrab (t), Blaghrog. Agis is still upstairs as I haven't heard frm McThunder and he hasn't been online since Easter.
Even with Snorldrab holding a torch behind him, Quintin is able to see the entirety of the room before them. Two swollen wooden doors pierce the walls of this long, thin chamber. To the west, a set of rough-hewn steps descend into a cave.

Quintin marches confidently into the room and looks left and right and then shrugs. He walks over to the top of the steps going down into the cave and looks down.
Re: The Lost Cellar
Snorldrab
Snorldrab will check the southern door first, then the northen door. (Check for traps first, does it look locked, listen)

Re: The Lost Cellar
Oggdrab helps Snorldrab with the doors, holding the torch near her and giving a hand if required.

Nolthar
Keeping within the circle of torchlight from Oggdrab and Snorldrab, he stands with his back to them, watching the room, his crossbow ready should there be any surprises.
