The Princess

Sorry for the long post.

She shakes her head as the druids use their ancient language of the trees. "No need for all that."

"Or that" She nods to Tzarkori.

The Princess draws herself up and dusts herself off. "I appreciate your concern for my well-being."

"First off, I had no idea that she could track me. Not just me, by the way. All of you. You've had much more contact with her than I have, and didn't mention she could track us.
My sister is alive, I think. That Succubus 'showed' her to me. At least I want it to be her. Momma first entered my thoughts as we were leaving the fun house. It was overwhelming, confusing, and loud. Soon after that, she tried again and told me the situation."

The Princess sighs and appears weary. "I have to get the gems and give them to her. Or my sister dies. Apparently, she faked Allissa's death and cooked up this scheme to force me to agree." As she speaks, the fight she had initially is wearing off, and she seems more tired and plain than you've ever seen her.

"We had a misunderstanding about what she wanted, the perils of communicating telepathically. Knowing that she is a heartless demon who tricked and killed many, I thought I could gather the gems and figure out how to use them before she knew. If I had known she was watching and listening this whole time..."

"This was her plan with everyone, wasn't it? To get the gems and use them? That bitch isn't offering me wealth or power like she did the others, just extortion."

She has to choke the next part out "As much as I hate it, I have to admit she beat me. She claims that she has others still working for her, so I was suspect of everyone. Well, except you two. I foolishly thought I could hustle her and make the gems do something to defeat her."

"Princess, I want to believe you. I don’t want to judge you or think you’re double-crossing us like your sister did. And yes, I also hope she’s alive.

But why didn’t you say anything to us? Don’t you see that now we’re hesitating to trust you? And why did you take that sword, knowing it’s possessed by evil and corrupts its wielder?"

"I have never met Momma before and until just now had never seen or even heard of her before now. If you can't trust us to ask for our help how can we trust you to help us when we are in need?"

Holmfrid gets a scowl on her face, not liking what she is hearing.

The Princess

She sighs and addresses questions that she knew were coming.

"She said she would kill her if I told anyone, simple as that. I saw no reason to doubt her after all I've heard. It was a shock when she showed up, I thought it meant Allissa was dead."

The Princess sadly chuckles. "That damn sword. I didn't believe it was evil, and after talking to it, I'm not sure it is. Arrogant, power-hungry, not good. But all those are things common in court anyway. I had no idea it was intelligent, it didn't speak up or do anything until she showed up. Cresty didn't seem affected when he used it, so I thought it was ok. And I was kinda hoping that it would help me kill Momma eventually."

"I guess the one good thing is that she decided to only take one powerful magic item from me. I still have the gem."

She turns to Tlachtga. "Those are two separate things. I've always had your backs, never hiding behind anyone or staying out of the fray. It being hard for me to ask for help doesn't change that."

MommaPamma's Return?
Late Afternoon/Early Evening

While the group discuss the latest encounter with the demoness MommaPamma, the sun sinks below the treeline to bathe the area in an apparently appropriate darker shadow.

Princess answers all the questions from the others as best she can, considering she isn't certain of the demons endgame herself.

The pair of druids discuss options in their strange plant language, eyeing their companion suspiciously as she speaks.

The confusion and slight hint of treachery doesn't sit well with the pair of newcomers whos lives now depend on this small party of complete strangers for their survival in this strange new land.

Within a short pause between her final comments, everyone in the group suddenly hears the telltale sound of a nearby twig snapping under foot.

Tlachtga readies her sling and scans in the direction of the noise.

Wes' face remains stern. He opens his mouth, clearly ready to add more to the conversation. At the sudden sound of the twig, Wes turns and darts behind a tree, likewise reaching for his sling.

[Monsieur Rose]

The Princess

She snaps her head around to the sound. "Oh, what the hells is it now? Come on out, I'm not in the mood."

The Princess looks like she's itching to fight someone other than her friends.

Holmfrid

Holmfrid points her Halberd in the direction of the snapping twig - ready to engage.

[Karaunios]

Elnaerel gets close to The Princess, since she's a bit apart from the rest. She gets her morning star ready.

Lerrick

The cleric moves back and two the right of where the sound is coming from. Once she stops she loads a bullet into her sling.


Tzarkori

The fighter moves five feet to the right of Holmfrid and hold his great sword with two hands ready to strike.

The Invisible Demon?
Late Afternoon/Early Evening

The group leaps to action as soon as the sound is heard, some diving for cover while others prepare their weapons.

There is no response to the call from Princess, and when you look around the area where the noise came from, there is nothing to be found.

In fact, nobody sees any indication that someone was there at all.

"Let's see", Wes replies. He casts Faerie Fire at the spot where the noise came from.

The spell description says it outlines creatures "otherwise invisible". I'm not sure if this means it reveals invisible creatures, or creatures that turned invisible whilst affected by the spell.

Elnaerel waits to see the results of Wes' spell.

The Princess

She looks up into the trees, determined to never make that mistake again.

"Whatever happened to those tree-creatures?" She suddenly turns completely 180 degrees and looks back where they were. "A distraction. A spell to draw us over here."
