Jaelah complies while she reads the officers' thoughts.

"You are being detained for interfering with an ongoing security investigation and evading detention by planetary security."

"You play very well," she concedes. "I'd wager you get kicked out of many casinos. Not here, though. Lessons to improve come with a price tag and we pay that price. It's why we are some of the best players on Aki.”

”You must have paid quite a lot for your great education. Hope the return on the investment is solid! What do y’all do when you’re not taking all my money?”

"Don't worry, I am not setting up shop here. I am just out for a good night."

Assuming the other three are drinking.

"Single malt or choice, my treat."

Arkar will order their best bottle of single malt and pay with chips.

Arkar knows he is not here to make money, but here to look for hints on psi schools. He will play just above the level at the table and try to split the table with the other top player, if he can.

To be clear we're playin' for keeps 'ere. So, Crown Prince, if anythin' naughty goes down you might just want to keep yer "visible likeness" an' trace/contact DNA well out of it".

He then reflects "Mind you... your wife actually controls interstellar communication and the administration of interplanetary justice... Always nice to work for the team that's goin' places...".

But not planetary justice. Best to keep that firmly in mind. I’ll give helvorn a bit of time to make his triumphant return before I go further.

Yep, Garvin seems to have worked this both ways round...

He has absolutely no illusions of how hard a case this is to crack.

"That remains uncertain. Them proving we were the intruders might be difficult. However, if they have contacted the people we claimed to be visiting, that cover story will have fallen apart."

Garvin says to William "Looks like things might 'ave gone pear shaped for Roscoe and Jaelah. With near 'alf the team incommunicado now's definitely not the time to 'ave explain a firefight in the street... or missin' or dead people. Skip goin' to collect your winnings from the auction - we've identified the lawyers an' we're workin' up the foodchain not down so there's no need to end up tanglin' with their button men". He grins "Besides, we might 'ave to pull a jail break".

He and William will head back to the ship and await an update.

(OOC: We seem to have developed a slim lead with the lawyers but it seems we might need a tactical pause / re-group).

She expects to be left to stew a while, but is surprised when an older man in a somewhat ratty suit shows up, claiming to be her attorney. The guards escort you and him to a small conference room where he takes a seat across from you.

“You must be very confused,” he said kindly. “My name is Kirl Advolondis and I’m certain you have no idea who I am, but I’m here to extract you from this situation before you compound your issues.”
