Question - is this a ‘normal’ sized cat?OGRE MAGE wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 6:21 pm Not willing to leave Tammuz behind, Daliedhur and Keya take an unorthodox approach to saving the monster before he chokes to death. "WWRRRRRAAAAARRRRRR!!!" Dealing with their coughing fit, what they hear and spot sitting in the corner of the small room beyond scares them nearly as badly. (I will need a successful Save vs. Spells before you can act again. PFE still in effect.)

Another question: where is the staff? Does Meinhardt have it or did he drop it when he was knocked unconscious?

The Mummy Cat is normal sized. Also.....I assume Cinder stayed south of the cloud, so correct me if thats wrong.
The staff is still laying on the ground where Meinhardt dropped it.

"HAVE YOU heard of mummy rot! WE can't, You don't even have a magic weapon, do you? Friend, even if we beat this thing, one touch and we start dying. Please follow me. I beg you in the name on my deity and yours. I am not strong enough even to use Rillifane's power against it." Keya is almost crying.
Keya grabs Tammuz and starts dragging him thru the dangerous fog.

Gyb
Gyb returns to the spot where Meinhardt was captured, keeping a safe distance between himself and the skeletons at all times.
Not wanting to touch such an evil relic, Gyb lifts one end off the ground with a branch. Then he slips the loop of his belt around the staff and draws it tight, double knotting it to be sure.
If the staff is more bulbous at one end Gyb will secure the belt there so the staff won't slip out when Gyb drags it along.

One Short Of A Baker's Dozen
Will Any Survive?
Early Afternoon, Warm Clear
Outside
Seeing the Skeletons up top pick up the body of Meinhardt to carry him back towards the others, Gyb walks back to where he sees the staff. As soon as he does, 3 of the Skeletons turn around to face him again, walking towards the area as well. (I can only assume Gyb wouldn't engage.)
The red robed Priest nods his head at Bugs as he swings his mace at the already injured Stobart again, hitting him squarely. 4 dam "You will both make excellent servants in the afterlife then." While neither are able to injure the man, he appears willing to continue this lopsided fight for now.
Actions?
square = unconscious
Inside
Keya sees the mummified cat and understands immediately that the group is in over their heads. He grabs at the retching Tammuz again and pulls him back towards the stinking cloud. Just before the pair enter it, the magic dissipates, evaporating into thin air, allowing undeterred passage through the area again. The huge Flind is not easy to carry, so they don't get far, but at least he seems to be kicking his coughing spree by now.
All alone at this point, wishing he would have thought this plan over a little better before following along with the others ideas, Daliedhur attacks the undead cat, but his normal sword doesn't seem to hurt the thing. When it rakes at him with one clawed paw, the Elf notices a bleeding scratch across the back of his hand. 2 dam Thanks to his defensive magic, he is able to dodge the other claw and the bite, while noticing an ornately decorated collar around the undead cats neck. The shiny trinkets dangling from the collar may indicate this animal was held in high regard during its normal life. It rears back to attack again.
Magdal, Ithrandir, and LoynBearWolf are able to hold the front line for another minute, keeping more Skeletons outside than in, but the Elf and former Dwarf are both hit, adding to their grevious wound collection. 2/7 dam
