010: Off to The Deeps
Re: 010: Off to The Deeps
Arkar does some research on a cleaning bot and buys some new furnishings, he pulls up a map and looks at the surrounding merchants, looking for food markets, liquor, and college like luxury items. Closest college bar, et cetra.

A trip into the city will see you outfitted in a way that doesn't stand out. The apartment building is run down and not in the best neighborhood. She lived on the 5th floor out of 15. it is early afternoon and the crowds are still out and about.
How would you like to slip in? There are regular entrances, but you also have the means of getting in through the window though that might draw eyes. She doesn't have a fire escape, but you have g/bikes.

Walt checks on the market for a new and used poker table, cards, and chip set (or what the popular spacey equivalent is). Of course, he has to find the Bulldogs Poker portrait print for the wall. He’ll get whatever is fastest deliverable.
He’ll outfit with a variety of cigars, a fridge of soft drinks, beer, wine, and snacks.

Once set, he’ll ask if Arkar is down for a bar crawl looking for a game…

Jaelah looks to Roscoe. "Think you can move the locking handle from the other side?"terrymixon wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 12:06 amNo one says squat but the door is both locked and taped off by police tape.

”Amen brother Arkar! Let’s do this!
On his way to start the pub crawl, he’ll secure comms Bona. ”Darling, if Garvin dude doesnt need you, feel free to join Arkar and me. Could be a fun night!”

The lock on the door clicks open and the door opens slightly. It seems damaged. A closer look shows a poorly wiped-off boot print on the door.

Looking for a place that likely to attract both intellectuals from the university trying to get away from that stuffy environment and those of lower society likely to prey on or supply illicits to the academics. The fringe elements to the school stiffs.
So, I guess pretty divey!

You settle on a dive called The Chaff. It's close enough for university slumming and just crawling with ladies of the evening and other low lifes looking to separate them from their cash. It's a single-story place with some hefty bouncers and sports dancers to book. Low class dancers that might need some medical screening.
How are you two going about this? Make your entry!
Re: 010: Off to The Deeps
Walt knows he can’t hide their fine physiques and thus appear intelligencia. Rather, he’ll embrace that and wear a polo shirt. His only weapons are embedded within his four rings. A grav dagger, a suppressed auto-pistol, a stunner, and a mundane sword. His intelligence Ancients medallion is worn.
He saunters in, unlit cigar clamped between his teeth. He takes a seat at the bar next to an empty one for Arkar on one side and Bona on the other. He asks for a beer for himself and whatever Arker and Bona wants; and asks for a match to light up. He pays in cash appearing consumed by whatever sporting event is on the TV. He’ll ask others around him to explain the Aki game rules and strategy. He’ll prompt for play by play explanation, buying drinks for those who do. When seated, he’ll pull out a deck of cards and idly shuffle as if by habit.
He’ll personally slow sip on a pint while generously paying for drinks for those around him. After a while, he’ll place a few bets with those teaching him the sport…losing them all. Then act disgusted by losing on the TV action and mutter something like: ”Should stick to something I know.” intent is to appear like he’s getting a bit tipsy and an inveterate gambler.
After a while he looks around for a back table with a game going. If none, he’ll eventually move to a back table, pull out a deck and start shuffling. He’ll look around for anyone watching him and makes eye contact with him. He’ll neural link for Arkar and Bona to help form a pot for the game. Cigar hanging from the corner of his lips.
Deception: [2d6]=8 +9 =17
Carouse: [2d6]=5 +5 =12
Recon: [2d6]=5 +10 = 14
As they play, he’ll neural link Bona and Arkar to adjust the odds of their bets such that their play is average. He’ll look for one or two players who seem to sustain a winning streak while adjusting his artificial front thoughts to project an attention to the game.
Gamble: [2d6]=10 +9 = 19

William will set up an appointment with Tester Services for the next morning if possible. He will attend the auction and bring a certified check or such to satisfy buying the place.terrymixon wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 5:01 pmRoscoe (the one on the ship) can handle that for you. None of the local hospital chains or medical supply companies are overflowing with cash, but one in particular--Raven's Hawk Medical Services--a low-cost clinic setup that has a rundown hospital and a dozen clinics is really on the ropes. It has declared bankruptcy and is in the process of being liquidated. Well, about to be in the process as the auction for the assets is set for later today.helvorn wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 5:11 am William will start out by appropriating one of the broker bots and setting it to look for medium sized hospital chains and medical supply companies that might be cash strapped and open to significant investment. He himself will hire a high powered but discrete law firm to aid him in unraveling the business affairs of the count.
One the medical supplies side, there are some businesses that are doing poorly, but they don't have much to offer for your needs. The equipment is terrible, and the reviews are awful. If you wanted to buy one, you would need to approach one. A random selection on the choices gives you one that seems very shady and might even be a way a criminal organization launders money. That would be Nevil Medical Devices. If you want one that is less shady, but still crappy, Tester Services might fit the bill.

Arkar will enter and act like the 'buddy' nicely dressed with a silk shirt and synth pants, He will carry in his two rings his 'everything' toolkit that was designed and fabbed and in the other 2 stun grenades and a brass knuckles.
Drinking beer and watching sportsball and also buying drinks as needed.

Jaelah ducks under the tape with a practiced motion, as she's forgotten how many times she's done this. She stops at the doorway and scans the apartment, recording everything for later reference. That done, she steps inside and looks for anything that is out of place.terrymixon wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 1:26 amThe lock on the door clicks open and the door opens slightly. It seems damaged. Garvin will back up William for the time being.terrymixon wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 5:03 pmYou have four groups: Jaelah and Roscoe, Metz and Bianca, Walt and Arkar, and William. They are going in different directions, so you'll need to pick on to focus on.
He'll source some local clothing (that he can upgrade to something business/smarter) and transport (grav taxi cab?) so he blends in.

When you play a bit at the bar, you'll get some dirty looks from some rough types, but they don't stop you. When you start to set up in the back, three of them will zero in on you. The largest of the three jerks a thumb at the front door. "Scram."Thumper wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 4:16 am Walt knows he can’t hide their fine physiques and thus appear intelligencia.
