Re: CHAPTER 16: Into the Jungle
Denslow points out the dark shape, warning the others as silently as he can.
Re: CHAPTER 16: Into the Jungle
Max pulls out his spyglass and attempts to figure out what is stalking us.
Re: CHAPTER 16: Into the Jungle
The Jag Oru Coast 58D/82 (Afternoon)
Wary of potential danger, everyone hurriedly scrambles off the trail in search of a suitable hiding spot. Max carefully pulls out his spyglass, adjusting the focus on the floating object. As he observes through the lens, he calls out to the others, describing what he sees.
A towering 60-foot-high monolithic structure, sculpted into the shape of a stylized bird’s head, looms overhead. Its eyes are deep, pitch-black voids, matched by a hollow space behind its curved beak. The edifice, once a vibrant bluish stone, is now weathered with chips and scratches, revealing a pale gray substrate beneath. A swirling purple-blue fog shrouds its base as it drifts silently across the sky. Its trajectory will carry it over the trader’s path, several hundred yards ahead of your position and 100 feet above the ground.

Max whispers, I say we head there.
Re: CHAPTER 16: Into the Jungle
Denslow says, As foolhardy as you are, I concur this time. That is worth exploring. Let’s avoid that mist if we can though.

The Jag Oru Coast 58D/82 (Afternoon)
Concealed in the undergrowth, you watch as the massive floating megalith drifts over the trail a few hundred yards ahead. Before it vanishes from sight, something detaches from its underside, spiraling downward and steered by a fluttering banner atop. With a heavy >THUD<, the torso-sized object strikes the trail, landing slightly askew. The colossal head continues its course to the right, sending deafening booms through the air as vivid orange beams rain down from its base. Gradually, it sinks into the dense canopy about a quarter mile away.
A flurry of small jungle animals burst from the tangled depths, racing past your hiding spots as they flee the turmoil of the structure's landing zone.

Re: CHAPTER 16: Into the Jungle
Denslow votes to check it out

"Let's check it" - the feral head growls as the other just nods.
Then the ratman moves to investigate.

Re: CHAPTER 16: Into the Jungle
Silvestri agrees we should take a look.

The Jag Oru Coast 58D/82 (Afternoon)
You carefully step toward the fallen object; a yellow stylized bird’s foot with four evenly spaced toes extending radially from a central stump, roughly the size of an adult human torso. Atop the stump, a cluster of red banners remains attached, now draped limply against the ground.

Three metal hooks encircle its upper edge, which Kurot identifies as ancient communication transmitters.

Re: CHAPTER 16: Into the Jungle
Denslow says, Maybe it was dropped for someone. If we hide perhaps we can see who it was left for.
Re: CHAPTER 16: Into the Jungle
The post by Norjax said Kurot identified it, which lead me to assume he was checking it out. Same action for Barry either way.
Re: CHAPTER 16: Into the Jungle
Zhym sometimes can't post for a while, so I will NPC Kurot when appropriate.
