Torbath

Torbath follows, the pink for some reason reminding him of the stars on a dark night. He hopes his invisible friend will give it a try.

Alordan passes through also thinking of the four-arm relentless monstrosities. He sees the lock and looks down at this sword. Looking back at the others he shrugs, ready to let loose on the lock. He, wisely, waits as it's probably not the best way to get to know this new blue person. At least not yet.

Maag

"Stand back den. I will put my boot through dat fing no problem", says Invisible Maag. After a few moments thought: "Or I could do it der 'ard way".

Maag (presumably) kneels down at the gate. Unseen hands jiggle the lock up and down. Several bits of wire fall to the ground. Someone (probably Maag) whispers "Shit!" several times. After a couple of minutes, the lock stops moving and Maag's voice says from several yards away: "Der yer go. It is open. And definitely safe. Definitely. Probably definitely. Open it whenever yer like".

"Well done." BJ exclaims aloud. "Except for the dropping and all the swearing, that wasn't too bad."

She pulls open the grate securing the tunnel without hesitation. "I could tell there were no traps from here, but I value your opinion all the same."

She points into the dark opening that is only about 5 feet high and even less wide. "It looks like we're going in single file, so........do you want me to scout out ahead or would one of you like to do that? I don't think we will run into anything dangerous until we get deeper in, but I have never been in this tunnel before either."

The direction of the tunnel clearly leads back towards the Ethereal Marketplace. There is no sound or smell coming from the darkness beyond.

Alert ranger Theo usually takes on of the front positions. But single file, with no room for passing each other... as the least experienced fighter of the group, he doesn't think he should be the leading edge.

Alordan will go first and scout the way. In response to BJs offer, however, he suggests “Maybe you should follow right behind me in case we need to….negotiate…with anyone”

BJ smiles at Alordan, happy to stay close as they navigate the unknown tunnel.

Andron wisely casts a spell that will help him see any traps and is immediately glad he did so, as a few yards into the tunnel, he spots a pit in the floor with a thin covering of dried reeds and gravel over it.

After he warns those in front of him, Alordan carefully lifts the covering to see only darkness below. BJ shakes her head, "I don't see any bottom down there, do you?"

The pit is only about 6 feet long, so getting beyond it wouldn't be overly complicated, if a means to cross without falling in can be utilized.

Alordan holds the rope - and gives some slack for BJ to grab as well. “He’s heavier then he looks..”

Theo watches with interest. It's not every day you see an invisible Maag climb a wall with a rope around his waist.

When Maag suggests a leap of faith across the pit, Andron gets another feeling of familiarity, like jumping to escape some imminent danger ... must be something about the Ethereal Plane, he thought. "An admirable idea, Mr. Maag."

"Please allow me to include an additional measure of insurance." He casts Web so that it bridges the floor and extends into the pit.

So, roughly 6' long x 5' wide x 266' deep.

Oh, you deducted a 2nd level MU spell instead of CL.

The Tunnel

After the spells and other precautions are taken to cross the pit, BJ actually looks impressed for the first time since you've met her. "Well, it seems you folks do have a few tricks up your sleeves after all. Very impressive."

The pit is crossed with ease after a rope is put into use, allowing everyone to huddle together in the tight tunnel on the other side. No other traps are discovered before the detection spell wanes.

It takes a good long while of shuffling through the dark recesses of this pathway before you find your next obstacle. Several minutes after the pit is traversed, you find yourself at an iron grate that covers the entire tunnel. This time, there is no door or padlock of any kind. It appears affixed to the wall by thick metal bolts secured through the iron brackets into the solid stone on the opposite side.

BJ smirks at another delay. "Sure, sure. Why not? Anyone got a pet Rust Monster on them?"
