Hefry
Astrography
Hefry A is a K6 II supergiant which dominates the system astrographically.
Hefry is a planet orbiting its far companion Hefry B which is an M2 main-sequence star.
It should be noted that Hefry A has a solar-wind outflow of about 1 solar mass every 10,000 years.
Astrogation Notes
Hefry is outside the jump shadow of Hefry B, orbiting at .75 AU. It is also outside the Hanitable zone.
The largest vessels that can possibly be catered for in the underground Downport are 1200
dTons. Only vessels of 1000 dTons or less will normally be authorised to land (to ensure an adequate margin of safety).
Larger vessels are advised to take up positions in the lee of the planet relative to Hefry-A and use small craft for personnel and cargo transport.

The lack of an atmosphere makes the planet extremely vulnerable to bombardment and the lack of atmosphere make outside operations very difficult. As a result, the planet is almost indefensible once any defending squadron is defeated.
Colonisation
The entire colony is buried with the residential spaces at least 2km below the planetary surface.
The Imperial Ministry of Colonisation has contracted various parties to extend the inhabited caverns over the past three centuries. Each of these expansions has added about 5000 residential spaces to the 10,000 that were catered for during the initial colony set up. In order of drilling, these are: -
- Port Gate and Old Town
- Undertown
- Pyrites
- New School
- New Port Gate
- Sixth Wave (Mostly unoccupied)
Each of these key expansions has been fitted with artificial gravity to bring the space to a 1G standard.
Undertown was established at the North Pole because that was the only part of the world that had any ice available.
Scout Service Operations
The
Scout Service has moved many of its Headquarters Services to Hefry. The commanders
and strategic planning staff remain at the seat of local power, on
Regina (SM1910), for practical reasons - but the title of Scout Service Headquarters, Regina is officially here. There is a considerable push from the service to relocate back to
Civilisation Regina (SM1910)
