Sik drops the torch and swings his axe with both hands, watching his footing in an attempt to remain at a range where the creature will be hesitant to come further ashore, while still being able to strike with his axe.

"Hey everyone. That thing is back and the others are fighting it on the beach. Care to get a ride to join in?" Kain seems calm but his eyes indicate an urgency.

When the others have boarded, he will pole off and race towards the fight.

When the Fighters approach the monster at the shore, it slithers backwards and remains out of their reach in the deeper water, keeping its distance from their dangerous blades as well.

The standoff on the gravel beach between man and beast continues, with neither side moving closer to the other, and neither retreating.

Reaching the unseen shore, Kain lets the others board the raft before shoving off back towards the action.

As Sik and Akhilleus stand their ground, when they hear Kain returning through the darkness, the monster suddenly disappears again below the surface of the water.

"Damn it. I don’t have any ranged weapons. This creature is just waiting to strike when we’re on the raft—when we’re at our most vulnerable.

Well, we’ve made it to the other shore. Let’s keep moving. We won’t forget what’s here when it’s time to return. I just hope it hasn’t recovered by then."

Kain is hard at work, poling the raft towards its destination. If he notices that the sounds of fighting have stopped, he dismisses it as too far away.

When the pair safely on shore spots the last of the stragglers arriving, they also see the monster begin to rise up from the water again.

As Kain hurriedly poles them closer to shore, the beast slithers close enough to smash the raft again, and it appears about to do just that.

I believe you can just do your normal unskilled weapon roll. Throwing a stone is a base 2/1 attack rate and does 1 damage (plus strength mod) (assuming OM rules there are stones big enough to do damage)
