Revisiting The Caves: Pt.2

Loyn steps back and away from the one sided attack to scan the ravine and outlying area to see if anything is coming to the undead creatures aid, scoochie-butting down the ledge if something is. If nothing is coming he’ll run to the cave opening and call for Bugs and Crabgrass, letting them know we need to leave now!!!

Crobeus - Human Paladin

"That would be wonderful! We shall see you for dinner later!

Turning to the newcomers, he addresses them, now that they have established they are friendly. "Sorry for not letting you guys get close, we've unfortunately learned the hard way that there are many out there who cannot be trusted. We weren't in a position to deal with more trouble. Name's Crobeus. Pleased to meet you both. Maybe I'll head back out tomorrow, make sure the others get back ok...unless anyone wants to head back right away, now that we've escorted the Lady back to safety "

If anyone takes him m up on the offer, Crobeus will head back to the cave.

If nobody wishes to head back out immediately: The paladin looks at his companions with curiosity as some of them hand over weapons before he tries entering the keep. "May I escort you somewhere, my Lady?" he asks, offering his arm to Lady LeNore.

Renna will introduce herself to Ithrandir. "What kind of work are you looking for, adventuring or a trade?"

Lady LeNore, "That is so kind - I will see what I can do."

Renna will introduce herself to Ithrandir. "What kind of work are you looking for, adventuring or a trade?"

"Looking to try my luck as an adventurer. I know how to use a sword and have some knowledge in magics.

Can I come with you? I don't deserve to be invited to your dinner, but I can sit in a table close to you and we can speak of your next mission after your dinner, if you want. I would gladly join you, if you would have me, that is."

Bugs

He comes trotting out after the group calls out. "Nothing moving back there. Hey! I thought you took care of the zombie!" Bugs maneuvers to position himself on the increasingly small ledge space.

"Fire? Oh ,yeah, I see it. Where those heads are. I suspect Crabgrass, he had those flasks, but why would he burn it all down? Anyone see him?"

Bugs looks to the left and right along the ledge. "Uh, maybe past the fire is the best option? I know we can climb down over there like last time."

[Quonundrum]

Meinhardt glances nervously glances at the far end of the ravine, wary of anything responding to the bell. "I assume Crabgrass used them on whomever owns those voices we heard. I suggest we climb to the top ledge and work our way down when we reach the treeline."

Early Evening, Clear

Returning Party

Lady LeNore is about to take her leave when Crobeus speaks up. "Oh, I would absolutely love a personal escort through the Keep, Knight Crobeus. Do you......know where the tanner lives, by any chance?"

Hearing the newcomer Ithrandir talk of not being invited along to dinner, she speaks up again. "Nonsense master elf. I am personally inviting you as well. There will be no need to have any of our new friends sitting at different tables. We will all dine together as a reward for saving me from those bandits at the caves." She looks to Renna lastly, smiling and nodding her head in a friendly manner.

When Stobart asks who he might talk to about the situation with the bandits, Sabine smiles again. "Well, you are already speaking to the right person. And I appreciate any details you can remember to tell me about. So, you say that your friends who saved you are still out there?" We probably should have taken the cue from GW and done any important business over here: viewtopic.php?t=12926

While Crobues looks confused with the other folks checking in any dangerous weapons, Sabine doesn't seem too concerned about the Paladin remaining armed as he enters. A perk of the Class, I suppose.

Actions?

Again, if you are done here, please proceed to the area of the Keep you intend to visit next. (as a couple others have already started to do) If you dont have anything you want to do here, there may be a substantial pause in the action while you wait for the others who do.

Still At The Caves

While the others still in the fight continue to flail at the last undead target, Cobb slashes the monster again, knocking it off the ledge into the ravine below.

Meinhardt and Loyn shout into the cave mouth for the return of Bugs, the only member who went back inside the caves as the rest were about to make their escape. When he pops back outside again, Loyn notices a robed figure exit the next cave mouth where the smoke is starting to flow out of the larger opening now. Without waiting around for anyone else to show up, the dwarf drops to his ample backside to start his way down the rocky ledge to the ravine.

Meinhardt sees a second robed person exit the cave immediately after the first, but he suggests the group take the time to climb up to the higher level to make their escape. Cobb and a few others look up, and then look at Loyn, already letting gravity take the lead role in his escape. The woodsman wisely follows behind the dwarfs......behind.

As the others wonder if they should follow Loyn or listen to Meinhardt, the pair of robed humans at the other cave opening spot them before turning to head in their direction. That's when they learn the whereabouts of their missing Crabgrass, as the blinded Half-Elf covered in a thick smoking textile suddenly appears behind them, rushing from the cave while waving his mace around dangerously. Clearly unable to see what is happening, the one armed spell caster plows right into the pair of robed figures as he tries to exit the cave mouth through the cloud of dark smoke.

This sudden appearance seems to catch the unsuspecting duo off guard, causing them to pause momentarily. When Crabgrass finally recovers his bearings, he also sees the pair of figures he saw earlier now standing right next to him on the ledge just outside the cave.

The ranger is relieved that the elf and his companion are innocent and not bandits who trailed them there so she enters the keep. She greets Sabine and turns over her weapons before making her way to the One-Eyed Cat.

Meinhardt, utterly helpless to assist Crabgrass can only follow Loyn and slides down the steep hill.

Clouts one of the two robed figures, figuring they will try to clout him also or bewitch him with evil spells. If he spies the others he will try to back away towards them.

"You keep to your caves and zombie horde and I'll keep to the Keep." he offers.

Rida rushes to Crabgrass' aid. Attacking the closest robed figure.

Loyn continues his descent, he looks back and sees Meinhardt following, hopefully the others will too.

As his allies scatter in front of him, Bugs spots Crabgrass and calls out. "Time to go! Down the hill!"

Bugs starts going down after Loyn, as bit more gracefully and a lot less on his ass.

Back To The Ravine
Going Down?
Early Evening, Clear

Loyn and Cobb hit the floor of the ravine with Meinhardt and Bugs following right behind them. Cobb looks towards the troll cave before looking back up to see the pair of priests who currently have Crabgrass surrounded on the first ledge. The young woodsman wastes no time after seeing the robed figures above. He runs full speed towards the end of the ravine where the trail leads into the woods and back out to the main road again. He doesn't look back to see if anyone is following him. He just runs.

Haldric and Rida have other plans, running towards the area where Crabgrass is in a fight for his life amidst a pair of powerful adversaries. The one armed Half-Elf clubs one of the figures with his mace, but hears the clank of metal on metal come from underneath those rich red robes. He is pommeled hard with a counter attack by the enemy swinging a much nicer looking mace that nearly caves in his head. 5 dam "Better yet, you and your idiot friends can JOIN our growing undead horde, fool!"

The second robed figure with the much nicer figure turns towards the oncoming pair, clearly casting a spell towards them as they charge her. She appears to stall for a moment before finishing the prayer, possibly waiting for the duo to enter the spells range before finishing. The long charge is too far a distance to make it all the way there in one sprint, so Rida's attack will have to wait. (if you two intend to continue charging forward, please include a Save vs. Spells along with your next actions)

Meinhardt runs diagonally towards the stream to gain some distance between himself and the evil priests' spells. He follows the northern bank of the stream southeast.
