First question, unrelated to Fate: present narration or past narration? I'm fine with both, just find it a little weird when narrative alternates between tenses.

I tend to do past when writing most scenes, but with PbP sometimes we don't know the results of the character's actions. Either due to rolls or something interrupting that we weren't aware of.

Let them chat in peace, as long as you enjoy it. When either of you mentions it here, we'll fast forward to the action.

Understood on life getting busy! I'm supposed to be job-searching, learning, doing my exercises, and taking care of the house. I'm busier trying to find a job than when I have one...

If you can, just keep us informed. Over time you'll get to know the people here, the real people. We've had a lot of health issues, deaths in families, and a diverse number of life struggles. Most of us are not young, and we've been through a lot of the same things. USS regulars are family, gaming is just what brings us together.

On the game, Jack isn't really a long term character concept for me, at least not right now. He was more written up to explore the Fate rules, thus he has outstanding aspects but isn't really driven to achieve anything at the moment. In hindsight I'm not sure if he's the best character concept.
