Ironguard Citadel: chasing shadows ...
With Bluetongue absent until he can sort out his login password trouble and Hvakreki
not responding to my messages, this expedition will stall.

So to keep you guys still involved and rather than drag out this investigation, as I reboot Barrowmaze, I am trying to consolidate the many expeditions in order to give a few new options to mix & mingle.

Here could be a viable solution in this update:
The group note the 'person of interest' and Dadely, Selina & Sidkrake follow the suspicious lady through a series of dark alleys until the trio close upon her when she is vulnerable to a surprise halt.
Can Dadely make some kind of check to see if he can determine what her having such an 'active' shadow might mean?
You think that the woman has some kind of Familiar spirit. Her shadow being an entity apart from her or possessed in some way by what might be known as a Manitou. Through stealth, spells and superior martial skill, the trio can subdued her. I will hand wave the combat at the cost of a minor wound each.

Under questioning, (Gunter has some enchantments to help discern truths and lies plus his provost baton gives him a singular Command spell), the group find out the woman is a cultist of Nergal. Under duress, her Shadow actually animates and strangles the woman to death by its own hands. You discover that in revenge for the public execution of the Nergal cultists in Helix that an Invisible Stalker has been summoned and coerced into seeking after Lord Krothos who ordered their deaths. The creature has already been dispatched on its mission.

The news to assassinate the heir to the Duchy throne takes immediate precedence over current activities and while Gunter & Golgarth continue with Citadel investigation, Dadely & Selina are dispatched forthwith to sound the alarm to Lord Krothos.

taking advantage of this, Dadely & Selina can arrive back in the other settlement by midday on July 15th, which will enable you to report the discovery (assuming you are not too late...) and then you can either return here though with Bluetongue & Hvakreki absent this might just get shelved as an NPC project until either returns or you can mix & mingle in the Helix settlement thread and get recruited into other expedition groups.

That sounds good to me. We can mix, mingle and then decide what to do next.
