Killshot: Director's Cut

I just bought this from Drivethru. I like it pretty well so far (reading the "Director's Cut," which is pretty much all the core rules in one, but I did read their quickstart first, Killshot Files: Retribution). Basically, it's a team-based hitman rpg. The dice mechanic is a little unique (as far as I can tell) and not quite "dice pool," but calls to mind the Year Zero Engine with its inclusion of gear dice and specialized dice categories that add into checks. The game is dice happy, but it seems like it would work well enough in play.

I like the lack of moralizing, too. More The Killer or The Mechanic than John Wick. Could get very dark very quickly, which interests me, but I think this may be why it isn't talked about more by the twee One D&D types on social media. Might be worth it to people interested in modern rpgs that run without an emotional safety net. I'm not criticizing safety protocols in game sessions per se (though I've never used anything like that), but I do think if that's something your players are into, maybe take a pass on this one.

Sounds interesting.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

I'm not in for dark and gritty, but I've had a scenario idea that needs better mechanics for modern conflict than most games I know of. However, I can't find the Assassin's Journal on Drive Thru, so reading the mechanics is difficult. :(

Thanks! I thought it was mentioned that there was a $0 version of the PHB for it, a chance to see the rules without $$ spent.
