Crobeus - Human Paladin
Seeing that the bandit is heading in the same direction as the drag marks and blood, the paladin offers up some friendly advice. "You aren't heading back toward the cave, so you held up your end of the bargain and we will hold up ours. However, you seem to be walking through a scene of violence, toward where those involved went. Are you sure that is a wise decision? You are unarmed and going toward someone or something that has already proven capable of harm. If you wish to travel with us for a little farther, I would not object."
He then turns toward Lady Lenore. "If we had concerns that you were a bandit, we would not have healed your near-fatal wound and allowed you to walk free, my Lady. However, I would like to hear your story- how did you come to be a captive?"
To Keya, he asks a more pressing question as he looks around, trying to see if the threat is still nearby. "Are there any tracks- humanoids, troll? Maybe a beast of some sort- a wolf or large cat?"

Bugs
"Oh wow. It's actually trapped. Huh. Guess it's good I looked." Bugs looks both proud of himself and surprised he found something.
How are we running this? Do I need to make another roll to remove it? 1e really didn't like thieves.
IF he needs to make another check: "I'd rather break it with a dagger or something."
IF he doesn't: "Ok. I think I"ve got it. Should I open it?"

Loyn Dwarf fighter
He pats the thief on the back, as he gives a nod of approval. “I can open the door easily…Give me some room here!” He hoists his battle axe up and swings at the unassuming door knob. No more worries there! This must be a room of some importance and could have other traps within. He slowly opens the door, letting the torch light shine in, but does not step into the room. He’ll let the sneakier members do their thing.

Gyb
Gyb nods approval at the suggestion that the (ex-?) bandit travel with them. "Flarnaghan's will, Gyb thinks".
He does, however, keep some distance between himself and the man.

Back To The Keep
Splitting The Party
Mid Afternoon, Clear
OUTSIDE
Crobeus tells the ex-bandit he should be careful out here alone and defenseless, allowing him to stay with their group for a while, if he so wishes. He nods and returns to them without responding. This seems to make Gyb the wanderer happy as well, though he still keeps his distance.
Lady Lenore sneers at Stobart before answering the Paladin as best she can. "Like I already said, my group was waylaid and captured, like they do to most of the other wagons or caravans who appear vulnerable out here. They killed my guards and took me as their prisoner, in hopes of offering me up to some evil priests to do gods knows what with me." She takes a deep breath, trying to calm that unnerving thought.
Keya and Magdal search around on the ground, but neither are able to pinpoint exactly what happened here. They do find signs of some animal activity here and there, but that isn't necessarily odd out here in the wilderness. There are no distinct tracks to follow, and no other obvious clues jump out at them while they search.
Actions?
Keya Redd H-E (C1/R1) AC:5 8/12 CLW/CLW/CLW
Stobart (C1) AC:5 5/10 CLW/CLW/Sanct

INSIDE
Yes, Find and Remove Traps are two distinct and separate actions in this system, ech requiring their own rolls, unfortunately. No matter here anymore, however.
Crabgrass continues searching through the pilfered spoils, realizing it could take several hours to go through everything here. He doesn't find his lantern, but is still amazed at all the different goods the bandits stole recently. Grabbing anything he thinks valuable and easy to carry, he joins the others at the door, but not in time to offer his own style of lockpicking skills. (he finds a silver serving set and some other shiny utensils)
As Bugs tells the others what he found, Loyn uses his master key to hack the dangerous doorknob completely off the surface of the door. As it drops to the ground, one tiny drop of the black substance from the needle drips onto the stone, discoloring it instantly.
Meinhardt asks for more details of what happened inside while he was outside, but none seem as worried as he is about that business. Apparently, Catbird could be behind them listening to every word as they speak, and none would be the wiser at the moment. Knowing this, the human wisely suggests they leave sooner than later.
After displaying his trap removal skills, Loyn pushes the door in to have a look from the threshold. As the portal swings, three things suddenly occur. First, there is the sound of a thin wire breaking. Then there is the sound of a crossbow firing from somewhere inside the room. And lastly, Loyn feels a bolt shoot through his armor, lodging a few inches into his chest. 3 dam Looking down, he notices the missile sticking out of him, pondering if he should use the same *ax first* method on this new protrusion.
From the open door, the dark room beyond is clearly a living quarters of some kind. Looking closer without entering yet, everything inside this room appears to be sized for children. Short chairs, short table, etc...
Actions?

Crabgrass
Sack sling over a shoulder guards the rear from the top of the sloped passage. Hearing Loyn's muffled cry he inwardly curses since he cannot pray further healing until the new dawn.
"They keep children captive? For ransom hopefully not for the zombie supply." He dreads to think the second option be truer.

Relates her findings, or lack thereof to the group, "Animals as far as I can tell. At least I hope that's what the blood is," thinking of Dredd and hoping that is all it was.

Crobeus - Human Paladin
"If there doesn't appear to be any immediate danger, I think we should push on toward the keep."
The paladin responds to Lady Lenore, "Yeah, that seems to be their system. I'm sorry for the loss of your men, but I'm glad we were able to get you out. Had you been there long? Where are you headed? Perhaps we could escort you back home."

Inside
A glance in the room and Bugs calls out tentatively "Da?"
"Tricksy people here. And more vicious. No paint traps for this lot. Watch your step and assume things are trapped. Sorry about the bolt, Loyn." Bugs thinks for a second and decides that three traps would be a bit much, so he steps inside.
"Halflings? Tell us more." He starts to look around without touching anything, checking for more wire traps.
