The trip to the cargo storage area goes without a hitch. No one pays you the slightest mind. It's not in the best neighborhood, but not the worst, either.

A clerk inside greets you when you come in. "Welcome to Fabeno Storage. How may I help you?"

Garvin gives his best gregarious smile and drums a riff on the clerks desk "Actually, me old mucker, I'm 'ere to 'elp you! Name's Garvin... an' I'm a fekkin' frighteningly bad man. Keep smilin' son an' don't do anything silly or sudden that would make me demonstrate. Good lad! The good news is I'm a licensed and bonded bounty hunter. The better news is - I'm not after you". He unclips a slim pack from his tac vest and lobs it onto the counter. It lands with a thump and the plastic sound of credit chips. "That there's your up front fee. I can tell you're goin' to be 'elpful because I reckon you 'aven't got an un'elpful bone in yer body... but why do we need to be goin' on about your bones? I'm sure they're all very 'ealthy, eh?" Garvin winks at the clerk emotionlessly "Now a little while ago two nasty bastards - button men, killers - no less, came through 'ere. They are Maston Wiastona and Jack-o Campbell but may 'ave diff'rent IDs 'ere. They are wanted for murder on Imperial warrants. I want to know where they in your facility an' to fek up anyone aidin' an' abettin' 'em". He shows holo likenesses of the pair and the warrants. "They are no fekkin' doubt in egregious breach of their storage contract with your company an' , believe me son, you want to be nowhere near the ruddy shit ton of grief comin' down on 'em. So, I 'ear you say, what the fek should I do to avoid the brown? Take the money, plug this into your security network an' do whatever the gentleman on the other end of the link says. Then, old son" he leans in conspiratorially "if it was me - I'd take lunch. There's enough in that pouch to make it last a few days - maybe a week if you go easy on tippin' the strippers".

I believe a couple of grand (~2.000 Cr +) was booked out/mentioned. It's not huge (but therefore not so generous as to be suspect) but all the guy has to do is cooperate/not look guilty/obstruct an Imperial warrant and (deniably) plug Spicoli's drive into his computer.

He's also being intimidated (persuasively) by Garvin who has all the background career and attributes to be intimidating and knows exactly how to use them at expert/elite level. We are not gods but that doesn't mean that it might not look a bit like Ares/Loki is on the other side of the counter and within easy reach... anyone with a DM of +10 is rather more than really good at the task in hand (by any mortal standards/appreciation or frame of reference). In this case diabolically good might apply??? Showing my own working as a player here but that's why I put the effort into the "pitch" IC - it's a significant event.

They went back about an hour ago with two handmade crates. Big ones. Then that lady came in. They said she's come by, and she only beat you by five minutes. She doesn't look like a killer. More light a high-powered suit. Maybe a lawyer? I don't know, but we only have video feed of the halls. None inside the bays. You can do your thing. I'll stay right here."

The kid plugs the stick in and Spicoli has access. He'll quickly confirm that he has no eyes on the targets, but he can see the door to the bay. It's a roll up and it is closed. A scan of the rest of the building turns up nothing out of the ordinary. He'll shunt everyone the floorplan. You can come up on the bay from two different directions. Neither one being overly exposed unless someone comes out of the bay.

Garvin relents "You know I'm only lookin' out for 'er. If we can wangle it that way then that's fine. I'm 'avin' enough worries with the pitfalls I can see let alone the ones I know I won't!"

We are running as fast as we can over a field of broken glass and try not to fall. Open communication and even honest disagreement is going to be important going forward; more important than anything we do with the technology."

Garvin returns the grip "On the face of it maybe it seems like I'm one of those more on the "outside" of the Imperial fold but, with Aster, I'm all in. Ciencia's a lovely girl an' she's always 'ad my loyalty an' I'll always be on 'er side - even if we disagree". He grins "In fairness though you might 'ave a bit more chance than me of actually bein' let into the Imperial palace - an' even more chance of not bein' searched on the way out".

William laughed. "I'll make sure to 'liberate' some silverware emblazoned with the Imperial Sunburst for your collection."

William asks Spicoli. "What do we know about the owners of the place? We could pressure them to let us in on their security apparatus."

"Considering the business, wave cash under their noses and they will play ball if it is serious enough. We can afford it."

Garvin contributes "Let's try that. Spicoli give me a "plug in" and a "splice" for your gear. If they play nice I'll hard connect you otherwise I'll just cut you into their system. Once we know exactly where they are I can likely get near enough to 'em in this environment to give us more improvisation options".

Garvin's sports his "melded" regalia/stealth gear plus diplo vest (which looks like his trademark long flak coat worn over a tactical vest). He has a "fan" of four monoblade throwing knives loaded into his wedding ring.

He slips a "riot foam" incapacitant grenade into one pocket and a stun grenade into the other.

Good point. Silencer will have a flash bang grenade in his ring.

With that out of the way, you now have time to figure out what you want to do next. Ciencia is looking at one of the bedrooms and then at William in a meaningful way. Aster and Garvin have disappeared... somewhere. The rest of you can do as you want or discuss things over breakfast if you like.

Feel free to do anything RP for the evening. William and Ciencia and Garvin and Aster experience the same thing that Roscoe and Jaelah did. As Garvin and Aster hadn't had that before, this has to be because they are both Ancients, not just psionic.

A little out of order but I wanted to catch up. William needs to start getting to really know his new bride.

During her bout of sickness William attends to Ciencia as much as she is awake. He is rarely away from her even when she is sleeping. When she is awake he entertains her with fables and legends told around the hearth fire in his clan home. The stories are a mishmash of old Terran legends with a Sword Worlds twist as seen through the lens of several decades of absence. William even sings softly to her the songs his mother sung at the cradle although his voice is nothing with which he will ever make any money. He will tell tales of his time in the Marines and bounty hunting and even teach her a couple of the risqué ditties from his time in the service when she is feeling up to it. Otherwise he will be a quiet and steady presence.

When she is sleeping he will go out and find Teresa alone. "Marine to Marine but more importantly as the person I think is the Princess' best friend I would like to ask you to open your heart for me. I have a rough-and-tumble upbringing and an even rougher life on the Raider and Force Recon teams. Then I went into bounty hunting the scum of the galaxy. Now I find myself in love with and married to both the Grand Princess and Ciencia. I know she likes to learn and loves to explore. She has a boundless curiosity and a joy for life but there is adamantium steel underneath the lovely grace and intelligence. What was her life like to this point? What advice can you give me her husband as her friend? I would sooner suffer for eternity and see her harmed in any way."

Just so you know that you and Garvin still need to respond to the unexpected wedding bed surprise I linked to earlier.

She appreciates the attention. She likes your singing. She really likes your stories. You are a rock as she becomes what she is becoming.

"You have my support, William. Just know that if you hurt her, I'll make you suffer. She is so damned curious. She wants to know everything. Experience everything. Especially the things she shouldn't be experiencing. She's the patron of the scout service because they are what she would do if she could. Feed her love of exploration and learning, and she will be very happy. I'd also appreciate if you shielded her from the rougher parts of you and your friend's lives. She's seen three more dead bodies this week than I would like. Four if you count Walt. She's the Grand Princess and doesn't need that. Or, God forbid, have to kill someone."

There is a childlike innocence to her that I don't want her to lose. And let her ride the damned grav bike as fast as she wants. She would love it, even if she crashed and burned."

I want to find the suit's transport an' look for a G lifter an' all - maybe she's takin delivery. Flag any footage of the suit or 'er transport for my pal".

Via neural link he sends "Anyone reckon those are the 'andmade crates from Aki? Lady Slade - it might be time to 'and out the Omicron armbands".

To his comrades he says "If we close in we can cover the door with long guns if Walt and Sillencer 'ave brought 'em. If not we can stop 'em leavin' but I don't think we want to bring on a siege where these two decide to shoot their way out with ancient Tech. We might be better takin' 'em as they leave but lets get a looksee with the spy bots first, eh?"

He sets one of his Creeping Spy Bots on a Grav Spy Bot and sends it to the bottom of the corner of the roller door, and send the creeping on through the gap in the rubber pad on the bottom. Once in motion, he activated Clairsemtients just inside the middle of the door and repositions it so he can view all faces and hear effectively. Once the creeper enters to provide redundant eyes and ears, he’ll maneuver his vantage to look inside each crate.
