Still catching up but the "Starport" is of such cyclopean scale that upping its self defence capability is not hard as we simply "plug in" bay weapons and launch bays (in olde High Guard I believe fighters and missiles have no energy requirement). If the design has "spare energy" to power these bays then Screens and Main Armament (but not Spinal Mounts) could be added. I was thinking SDBs but then adjust for scale and thought "squadrons of" before adjusting again to "Battle Riders"!

Strategically though the only thing that can hurt this thing is likely a Battle Cruiser plus sized Fleet element...

However, as far as foreign powers go there's quite a lot of Imperium to fight through before Glisten!

I'm not at all sure how far we really need to go down this road but... if the Princess and the Imperial Navy really want us protected... they could loan us their White Globe generator while we fab another one...

The bay weapons on the station would be spinal mounts in battleships. It could mount meson guns powerful enough to kill a BB in one shot.
