Dragon Battle!
Initiative Order: Dragon (28), Tumbler (14), Elwood & Tuga (11), Khawla (10), Allean and Gurkan (1)
Atop its mushroom tower, the wyrmling spies those who have come to hurt it...and reacts almost instantly. It inhales and belches for a cloud of poisonous gas which engulfs the companions directly in front of it. Elwood, Gurkan, and Khawla feel their eyes and lungs burning as they try to survive the assault! (Reflex save please! Damage is based on your saving throw.)
While Tumbler scoots around to get behind the dragon, Tuga kneels and fires an arrow into its shoulder!
Actions!
Map is pretty much unchanged except for Tumbler and Tuga moving in behind the dragon.
Stats:
Allean - healing potion
Elwood - smoking sword
Gurkan - down 5
Khawla - scroll
Tuga - down 2/18; hat of disguise & healing potion
Tumbler - bracelet & wand
Dragon - down 4
Rolls:
Dragon initiative: [1d20+11]=17+11=28
Dragon Breath: [5d6]=19

Tuga will see the dragon is on top of the mushroom, Tuga ran under it
Then Tuga will then cast his Cantrip: Tanglefoot DC14 [1d20+4]=15+4=19 on the dragon.

Re: Menace Under Otari - Return to the Caves!
Seeing the blast of gas hit three of the others does it for Tumbler. Holding a dagger in one hand and a wand he isnt sure he can use drains all his confidence. He stays in the shadows and quickly makes a retreat the way they came in.
Re: Menace Under Otari - Return to the Caves!
Khawla
Khawla casts Stabilize (cantrip) on Gurkan.
If it is a better move she will force him to drink her potion of healing instead, but I am not sure if that is allowed.

A Dance with a Dragon!
Initiative Order: Dragon (28), Tumbler (14), Elwood, Gurkan & Tuga (11), Khawla (10), Allean (1)
Not waiting for its the poisonous gas to dissipate, the wyrmling leaps off its mushroom tower and into the midst of the three companions before it! It's claws rake Elwood across the chest, gouging rivulets in his armor, almost killing him! Gurkan is not so fortunate as the dragon's claws rake him down the face and chest, leaving bloody furrows in his flesh! As Gurkan falls, the dragon wheels, whipping its tail around at Khawla. The priestess is able to avoid the same fate as Gurkan, ducking under its tail.
Seeing this as his moment to live another day, Tumbler takes off at a run...and heads out of the cavern!
Elwood doesn't give his fellow fleeting Dwarf a glance as he steps up, brandishing his new sword and cleaves a flesh and scale with a mighty stroke! Never knowing such pain, the dragon roars in anger!
Wielding her magic scimitar, Khawla steps up and swipes at the beast, but is unable to score a hit!
A few feet away, Tuga casts a simple cantrip, attempting to snare and "tangle" up the dragon, but his attack narrowly misses!
On the other side of the chamber, Allean sends force missiles streaking around the mushrooms to slam into the dragon! Another round of pain and the dragon roars again!
Actions!
Elwood's new sword does 1d8+5 damage or he can "command" it to do 1d6 fire damage one time only.
Allean -
Elwood - down 19/22
Gurkan - down 34/30 - dying

Death-Dealing Dragon!
Initiative Order: Dragon (28), Elwood & Tuga (11), Khawla (10), Allean (1)
Roaring in anger, the Dragon launches another flurry of attacks with devastating results!
A blur of green, it claws Elwood across the chest and face, ripping off pieces of his flesh! The noble Dwarf falls back and does not get up.
Another claw attack and this time Khawla's armor fails to protect her and blood flies through the air as she falls back, her eyes rolling over to look at Gurkan dying beside her.
Sensing another behind it, the dragon whips its tail around, but Tuga rolls and ducks under the swipe! The nimble Gnome jumps up and hacks the dragon in the back with his glaive! A sneaky attack to be sure!
"We need to get out of here!" comes a shout from across the chamber, as Allean moves into position and fires an electrical burst from her outstretched hand. The arcing bolt blasts off a chunk of the giant mushroom over the dragon's head, but otherwise does no damage.
The dragon roars and wheels in her direction, trying to find her.
Actions for Tuga!
So...the three dying characters have two choices: let your character go on, or roll a recovery check (d20 + your dying condition; no other bonuses).
Allean -
Elwood - down 31/22 - dying condition 1
Gurkan - down 34/30 - dying condition 2

Rolls:

Dragon Claw 2 [1d20+10]=19+10=29 [2d6+4]=5+4=9

Re: Menace Under Otari - Return to the Caves!
Being behind the dragon and short, Tuga decide to get in close and under the dragon and stab in the gentle area just in front of where the tail intersects, hoping it will distract the young dragon that knows nothing except instinct. Hoping it will allow a moment for his friends to run.
Stratagem [1d20+7]=17+7=24 Glaive [1d20+5]=10+5=15 dmg[1d8]=3
All this time I have missed Strategic Strike +1d6 if stratagem is successful: Strategic Strike [1d6]=2.

Re: Menace Under Otari - Return to the Caves!
Some Folks...Gnomes Can't Take a Hint!
Initiative Order: Dragon (28), Tuga (11), Allean (1)
Witnessing the horrific end to her companions, Allean continues to slip toward the back of the cavern...where she finds a small tunnel. She darts down it without looking back...and after several feet of winding back and forth, she soon finds herself in the back of a small cave in a ravine outside the town of Otari.
Tumbler also emerges from the caves below the fishery, the only survivor, as far as he knows, of the group who returned to finish the threat to the town. Tamily Tanderveil greets him with a smile that soon fades to a sorrowful frown once she learns of the fates of the others.
She is undecided what to do next...should she send for help? Put a call out for other adventurers? Petition the Sheriff for men to descend into the caverns and slay the dragon before it threatens the town? She decides to go to the great Library and ask Saeranrae for guidance...and hopes for a quick answer, for surely the safety and well-being of Otari depends on it!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Thus ends the adventure, Menace Under Otari.
Thanks for playing. Best of luck in your other games.
Allean - running for her life!
Elwood - down 31/22 - dead
Gurkan - down 34/30 - dead
Khawla - down 28/26 - dead
Tuga - down 27/18 - dead
Dragon - down 28
Rolls:
Dragon claw 1: [1d20+14]=5+14=19 [2d6+4]=7+4=11
Dragon bite: [1d20+10]=11+10=21 [2d8+4]=12+4=16 [1d4]=3
Initiative Order: Dragon (28), Tuga (11), Allean (1)
Being in a position to strike possibly a mortal blow to the beast, Tuga gets in close and rams his glaive into the dragon's "tain't" area. His glaive skewers the dragon between its bunghole and ballsack and the creature bellows in agony! The wyrmling wheels around, finds Tuga...and rips into his flesh with its claws, pinning the Gnome to the floor. The last thing Tuga sees in the dragon's open maw descending on him just before it bites him in half!
"We need to get out of here!" comes a shout from across the chamber, as Allean moves into position and fires an electrical burst from her outstretched hand. The arcing bolt blasts off a chunk of the giant mushroom over the dragon's head, but otherwise does no damage.

I have never had a chance to do that to a dragon, thank you for the possibility. In Tuga's defense, he had a mad fighting dragon between him and his people.
