Saul

I wasn't planning on selling it, Elias. But since it looks like you have your heart set on it, I'll trade it to you for a good bottle of gin. And if you can't find that, for a good bottle of whiskey.

He cleans his rifle, carefully packs his pack, and checks his ammunition and grenades.

Flores Point near Tanapag on the North West Coast of the island of Saipan; Noon, 6 July, 1944

Major Acme gathers up his team of Talents and the half-dozen Marines left under LT Mosely's command and they carefully move around to the south of Flores Point, which the Japanese have recently re-captured. Staying about 500 or so yards to the south, Acme with his binoculars and Tucker with his brand-new Springfield RIfle's scope are able to survey the area.....

The closest thing to them they can see is a blasted out Pill-box (labelled 10 on the map), which has been somewhat fixed and which currently has a pair of IJA troops in it. One appears to be sleeping or relaxing inside the partially smashed position while the other has an Arisaka Rifle at the ready. Beyond him, down at the waterline, only a small section of wing and the tail of the Emily Seaplane can be seen as it's mostly inside the rectangular Hangar (9 on the map) and sounds of work can be heard echoing off the waves. Beyond that, not much can be seen besides the occasional body of a Marine, though a few Japanese civilian workers can be seen here and there; taking no sensible cover and clearly being used as a labor force.....

Most of the buildings here are not much more than rubble or frames open to the sky (numbers 1 and 4) and other than an occasional worker dragging some lumber or hunk of metal towards the hangar, nothing seems to be happening here. One building though is mostly intact (number 2 on the map) and for split seconds here and there, Acme and Tucker can see the tell tale sign of a helmeted silhouette, revealing that some IJA troops occupy this position....

Saul
They're pretty hopped up about that seaplane, aren't they? Putting about all of their attention on it.

Acme

"If you're up to it, Elias, yes. If you can take out that pillbox without noise, we may be able to advance to the compound." Marvin looks to the others. "Saul. How do you think your camo would work to back him up?"

"If it goes sideways, the rest of us ride to the rescue."

Elias will prepare and use enough will to ensure invisibility and use focus to maintain it and advance slowly, knife in hand.

Flores Point near Tanapag on the North West Coast of the island of Saipan; 12:15, 6 July, 1944

(Apologies Jemmus if you wanted Saul to do something besides use his Camo Talent Power and accompany Elias)

From their vantage point, Major Acme and most of his SST 4 Team and LT Moseley's half-dozen Marines watched the Talents Elias Tucker and Saul Rabinowitz utilize their powers to vanish and turn into someone who blended in with the native terrain respectively and move towards the Pill Box nearest them....

Elias had his Knife out while Saul just carried his Rifle and both moved quickly, but quietly towards the Pillbox in front of them. As they crept closer and closer, they could clearly see that the lone Japanese IJA Trooper who was awake had looked their way several times, but never reacted, so clearly he was unaware of them. As they got right up next to the defensive cylindrical building's side, they could see through the gun port that a second Trooper lay on the ground, resting with an Arisaka Rifle leaning against the wall next to him. At about the same time, they heard sudden shouts and could see some movement coming from over near the Hangar position.....apparently some of the Japanese Talents had felt their Powers being utilized and were sounding the alarm. The troopers inside were starting to scramble up to take action*.....

Acme and the others, though farther away, could hear and see that a response was beginning to take place....probably due to the Japanese Unit 781 Talents 'feeling' the Talent Powers of the American Talents and sounding the alarm. Several Japanese civilians seemed to be rushing towards the Hangar, sometimes dropping pieces of metal behind them as they rushed to cover, while a few soldiers, including at least one with the distinctive Type 96 LMG in his arms, were moving in a crouched manner, from cover to cover to help with the defense.....

*I spent enough WPs for both to ensure their Talent Powers activated, you are right against the Pillbox, with a gun port basically in arm's length from you and seeing the two soldiers inside who are completely unaware of you....the door to the Pill box must be on the opposite side, but the gun port is large enough to shoot through or drops something through, etc.

"F--- it."

Elais drops his knife and drops a frag grenade in the pill box.

That's what Saul wanted to do.
Saul drops a second grenade into the gun port and drops to the ground.

Acme

He scowls as things start to go sideways and then smacks his head. "Oh god dammit. They can also feel our powers, can't they?"

Marvin rallies the Marines and has everyone race toward the pillbox.

Flores Point near Tanapag on the North West Coast of the island of Saipan; 12:20, 6 July, 1944

In the hot sun of July, on the island of Saipan a battle between the Talents of SST 4 and some Marines vs. some IJA Talents and attached IJA personnel began in earnest....

First, an invisible Elias Tucker and a camoflauged Saul Rabinowitz each primed and dropped a grenade through the machine gun firing port of the Pillbox and a moment later the twin muffled explosions tore apart the IJA MG Team inside and both members of SST 4 caught sight of their teammates and the half dozen Marine survivors racing forward towards their position. They also felt/heard/smelled several Talent Powers being activated....some were familiar and from their team mates while others were unfamiliar. The saw a man flying through the air, carrying a long rifle with a scope on it as he raced over their position and quickly moved towards some rocks a few hundred yards away......

Major Acme saw what was happening and ordered an advance to the Pillbox position as his teammates took out the MG team in the pillbox, but gave away the surprise as the IJA Talents felt the Allied Talents' use their Powers and moved to defend themselves. As he raced forward he was pleased to see Gurung, Roker and Queen join him, as did the half-dozen Marine Survivors of Flores Point.....

As they crossed to the Pillbox position, they could see a group of half a dozen IJA troops move into two groups, both behind cover. One group opened fire with 3 Arisaka Rifles and while one fired a shot that zipped JUST past Acme's ear, he was relieved to see no one was hit. The other group of three had two IJA troops with shorter carbines who held their fire but took aim and one man braced a Type 96 LMG on a low wall about 50 yards away he was crouched behind and he opened fire with a burst of tracers. One of the rounds hit PFC Ziering, who dropped clutching his leg and yelling out in pain...

Roker and Gurung raced forward toward the now-smoking Pillbox where they knew Tucker and Saul were and both flinched a bit as some rounds fired by IJA troops mounting a defense came close, but neither was hurt. The troops were in cover some 50 yards away. Of more concern though was the fact that two new Talent Powers were activated.....one was DEFINITELY the flying man who streaked over ahead at high speed from the Japanese lines and landed in some rocks a few hundred yards behind them. Where the other Talent Power originated or what it did though....that was a mystery....

Frank Queen, on the run, activated his Hyper Agility Talent Power and fired his modified Lewis gun and managed to drop one of the three IJA troops who had just fired their Arisaka Rifle, but a moment later, he was diving for cover as the tracers from an IJA LMG just BARELY missed him and DID manage to hit one of the poor half dozen Marine survivors from the earlier attack....

OOC: Okay, the group is more or less at the Pillbox position and about 50 yards from two groups of IJA troops taking cover near the Hangar. One group is now made up of 2 Riflemen, the other group has 2 Riflemen (with Carbines who are aiming) and an LMG armed trooper. 2 IJA Talents are nearby, one flew at high speed right over everyone and landed in some rocks approx. 200 yards behind the group while the other is a complete unknown so far....

Elias takes cover behind the pillbox and turns around and sights (while invisible) in the area where the powered enemy flew towards.

He doubts he will get a shot, but will take one if possible.

Saul tries to keep his eye on the flying soldier's course and spot where he lands. The team doesn't need an IJA guy behind them
sniping. He drops to the ground facing the rocks, eyes searching them.

Acme

He turns to draw attention to the flying sniper behind them, but the team is a well-oiled machine by now and his commands are anticipated.

"The rest of you, get fire on that LMG!" Marvin will get cover from the group of two riflemen and get a line of sight on the LMG group, firing at anyone foolish enough to expose themselves.
