The Lost Tavern
Re: The Lost Tavern
Theo has had enough of pit fighting, sausage, and almost enough of ale. And it seems about when the spellcasters were supposed to finish their studies. Back to the wizard's house, Maag?

Re: The Lost Tavern
The Ethereal Marketplace
Zuhma's House
Zuhma tries to answer the next barrage of questions.
"Stiller would only know the simplest of magic spells. Detections and maybe a few other charms. The boy was not the brightest or the best I have ever trained, mind you. And the fact that he was actually a plant by Garzanthanon didn't help matters."
"The Book of the Dead is filled with odd magical jibber jabber along with a few archaic incantations that involve raising the dead. The writings are dangerous to those who do not possess the powers to resist them. That is why I must warn you not to open the tome."
Just then, Theo and Maag knock at the door and are invited back inside. "The rounder heads have returned, it would seem."
Sensing the reason for Andron's final question, Zuhma nods. "Unless the vile creature has need to bring someone back who has died, I can't say I know the answer to that, friend. The book is obviously valuable, but I think there may be more behind this robbery than initially meets the.....erm......eye."

Re: The Lost Tavern
Theo replies, We passed the time doing some pit fighting, Mr. Andron. Some tough characters, especially a four-armed guy. I hope we don't run into more of them along the way. Maag did great though, he was a champion of the pit.

Zuhma tries to understand the excitement behind beating others up and being beaten up, but he doesn't seem to feel the same enthusiasm concerning unnecessary physical confrontation. "Yes, indeed.........fascinating."
Once the tales of brawling have ended, he tries to get the group back down to business.

Re: The Lost Tavern
The Ethereal Marketplace
Zuhma's House
After looking down his long crooked nose at Feanols question, the wizard just shrugs, unsure what she is actually asking of him.
He makes a soft whistling noise with his mouth when a black raven suddenly swoops in from somewhere unseen. He whispers in the birds ear and walks to the door, opening it to let the animal fly freely into the crowded and bustling Marketplace outside.
"The wait should not take long, as Percy is never very far away."

Re: The Lost Tavern
The Ethereal Marketplace
Zuhma's House
As promised, the wait is not long when the bird returns with a strange looking figure in tow. The creature is a halfling sized, skinny humanoid with a massive crooked nose and incredibly dark features. Dressed in long black boots and a dark cloak it uses to cover most of its face, the figure holds out a glowing magical dagger in front of it at all times, as if it were some kind of shield.
"Greetings Percy! I trust you were not too busy to come to my aid?"
The figure pulls out what looks like a small sea shell and holds it to its ear before gurgling something strange back into it from its mouth. If that was this things language, you didn't understand a word of whatever it said. It hands the shell to Zuhma who then holds it to his ear before laughing a little to himself. "Percy thinks you all must be pretty desperate to help me with this task."
The wizard speaks clearly back into the shell. "I trust you will treat these folks like you would myself. I don't want anything.......unfortunate....to happen to them since they are helping me here. All I ask is that you bring them to see Garzanthanon, or at least show them the proper route through the underground to get to him. Is that understood, Percy?"
The creature listens to the message from the shell and nods its little head at Zuhma before turning to the group to stare at you without making another sound.

Theo unconsciously touches his own rather over- wide and over-prominent nose. Yeah, Percy's got a champion one, doesn't he Maag? He assumes the Percy can't understand his impolite comment on a physical attribute.

As it seems this gentleman knows something of where Garzanthanon is, then I propose we get some details on it now. So we can do a bit of planning here out of harms way, so that we can act quickly when we get there. Is this a large area or a compound. Will we be able to stroll in or will we need to sneak in. Will this call for a frontal assault?
