Heard about this place...

#1 Post by ylinett »

...From the Thaco's Hammer Podcast. In case there is anyone out there who doesn't know what it is it is THE BEST Second Edition podcast EVER! In the last few weeks I have listened to the first 60 of their episodes; And boy does it have me wanting to get back into playing some AD&D. The locals all play Pathfinder (which doesn't seem that bad having read a smattering here and there); but of course they are moving to a night when I work. So, PBEM it is.

Anyway as for myself I have been playing RPG's for about 20 years including D&D/AD&D, Star Wars, Paranoia, Marvel, Various WoD, Star Trek, DC, Role Master...etc. I also LARP, am in the SCA, and most other dorkly pursuits. I prefer serious to silly, and have been the DM/GM more than my fair share of the time. Anything you want to know just ask.

P.S. I live on my phone and with unlimited data I am able to post as frequently as anyone could want.

Welcome welcome!!
We do 2E here, as well as other Es and games.
Glad you found us!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Welcome aboard, ylinett. I'm sure you'll have no troubles fitting in here.

I'm with you when it comes to 2E. I was only familiar with 1E and earlier editions before discovering the boards here, but signed up to play in Tavern Tales, a 2E game which was a lot of fun and became hooked. By the way, you're aware of the rules shared on the Purple Worm website, right? It has proven to be an invaluable reference for me since I don't actually own any 2E material.

It seems like there are new games springing up all the time, so hopefully you'll catch on to something soon.

I think we should have an active campaign to get Unseen Servant mentioned on as many WGP podcasts as humanoidly possible.

I am aware of the rules on Purple Worm (thanks again TH!) and I have shared them with the various PBeM games I have joined. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Now to find the perfect game.

Er... I wouldn't hold out for quite that.
