Re: Chapter 8 - Into the Swamp
Frog #2 and Del have a croaking back and forth conversation that only they can follow and it left off with Del saying something to it and it answering. Everyone else watches and chimes in to Del with some suggestions the frog looks at Grimnar with interest possibly smelling the dead stirge on the dwarf.

Trist says softly to Grimnar,"Uh you might want to wash that off. I think it is considering a larger meal."
"Jivet you best stay perched on me for a while too."

"We should just keep moving. The frog wants to eat Grimnar and I think I have talked him out of it. It doesn't seem to know much about the light, other than it can be seen better at night. Not much else."

Re: Chapter 8 - Into the Swamp
The non-sleeping frog croaks at Del an the group semi-angrily as if a deal was made and not lived up to. The group starts moving the raft forward and the frog hops high and far and slashes down in the water further off to the raft's western side. and doesn't reappear. for now things are quiet taking the advice of the frog the group poles the raft to the south since they have at least one member of the group with a navigation or directional sense you head on. Day turns to night and you start to see lots of fireflies in the night but the greatest flow is the green glow from the beacon which is almost exactly the direction the frog gave you. Moving onward you figure you have closed the distance to at least half way there. You do not off to the east in the distance you make out what looks like stick huts in the trees but they are a good 300 yards in the distance. you wonder if perhaps you have closed into lizardfolk territory.

Re: Chapter 8 - Into the Swamp
The dead stirges were sucessfully thrown/kicked/pushed off the raft you assume the frog disappeared and consumed them.

Re: Chapter 8 - Into the Swamp
Pressing on the group more warry of the location and the fact that they are seeing signs of some form of civilization out in the swamp they press on south trying to avoid the huts to the west of them. The rest of the day goes by without any encounters during the day however late into the afternoon as the sun begins to set you do encounter something. The one steering the raft and the one pushing it along by pole both notice they're being watched from some of the little swampish island like areas with trees, vines and other swamp vegetation. Jivet also points out that she senses they are being watched and are just about surrounded by something with higher intelligence than any of the previous encounters so far. These from the distance appear to be humanoid ish cloaked and camouflaged though from the 100 yards distance between you and them they appear to have tails and either long sticks or spears. You notice that there are a lot more huts in the distance to the west and slightly in the south ahead.

Trist and Jivet
"Great work Jivet. Stay invisible as you scout ahead."
To the group, "Looks like we need to veer away from getting too close to any huts and contact if possible. Agree with Egon. Cool, slow and steady.
Be ready to talk/parley possibly if it comes to making contact with the beasties.
Trist gets her bow ready just in case unless she's pushing or steering.
