Oof. Let us collectively discover wrong information! Huzzah!
These are clearly magical symbols. Unusual symbols, arranged in an unusual manner, asymmetrically, making it hard to make out their intent, even before the sands and winds had taken their due from the stone.

They're also different from the rest of the symbols you have encountered thus far in Telkomel, the work of a different class, or perhaps of a different tradition.

You dig through the many records you have studied, the signs you have learned, the languages known and unknown, coming up with a few ideas for various symbols. Protection. Burnishing. Light. Color. It occurs to you that the stone is unmarred by the sand, that the cuts are clean and the color brilliant, despite the age of the arch. It seems it's a spell to keep the stone beautiful no matter how long it sits in place.

Farrouk has no eye for the statues, the stone or the new carvings. He is pretty occupied by the cord and probably will be for a while.
I think this is a nice first step for a mold breaker moment for Farouk. He could ask Suen and/or Nutesh for help, but he despises the idea of being influenced by a demon (Suens help) or pressuring Nutesh into using his half-baked abilities. As a player, I'm interested in seeing either of these things happen!

Lilly closes in to whisper at Finnithir - "No movement yet, right? Might as well make a show and you can see if someone leans out of a window to check."

Louder she turns to the biggest of the cultist volunteers (can we get a name for him?) - "You, with me. We're taking a stroll down that way, seeing if someone is bothered by it, and stroll right back here. Eyes sharp!"

"The rest of you, defensive positions! Be ready for anything!"

She taps Suen as she starts trotting towards the carved statue - "If you can't make me invisible, you could at least make these poor little legs run like a horse."

  • B1: These people are defenceless children without me! I will keep them safe in and out of the city.
  • B2: I am truly lucky to have found so many magically Gifted humans to work with. I can't wait to see their craft!
  • Trait: Curious

The largest is named Sofian. I'll look for an appropriate trait or other magic after work!

nice! I will address that IC below.

Let's try again for the other roll. That is "as we go" so I assume you will stop us at an appropriate point to read something new?

Nutesh studies the luminous red stone carefully with everyone's help, careful not to touch it. It is the tip of the spear, once atop the arch but now lying where it has fallen and pointing upwards. He wonders at the man state's face - what anger was so important it needed to be memorialized in stone? A mystery. He shakes it off and turns to Lilly. "Not the stone we seek, but a worthy one nonetheless. It is an enchantment that will ensure its beauty never fades. Perhaps a worthy interest to your immortal elf-friend." he suggests, leaving it for Lilly to touch, and take.

He looks over the runes on the walls, still curious if they differ from those at the market stalls. The lone fallen arch and dry fountain still hold interest to him, the bird mentally reminds him. He wonders if it is just the raven's attraction to an everlasting shiny object...
