Re: Chapter IV - Comancheria (Charlie & Ezekiel)
Charlie
Charlie will start shooting at approximately 200 yards. Braced shots, aimed, slow fire.
You can go ahead and roll for me as many times as you feel meet his criteria.

Re: Chapter IV - Comancheria (Charlie & Ezekiel)
The Comanches yell to each other, but at a distance of over 300 yards, Charlie can't make out the words. Charlie lying behind his saddle bides his time and waits for the Comanches to come into fair range for his Winchester. Sarge takes two shots at the distant rider with a bow who was circling toward his left flank, but sees no results.
The intentions of the Comanches soon seem to become apparent. They turn to ride toward the bodies of their two felled men. The man with the prone man's muzzle loader rifle rides to him, quickly dismounts, hefts the limp man over his shoulder, and lifts him onto his horse's back. The bow man quickly gallops his pony to the spot and dismounts. He turns to face the dead or unconscious man's still charging horse and slaps his naked thigh three times. The horse looks back over its shoulder, uncertain and seemingly looking for signs from its tribe of horses and their riders.
At the same time, the two men with repeating rifles gallop toward the scouts' right and the body of the rider with a lance. They repeat the same, one man loading the limp body of a man onto his horse back, and the other slapping his thigh three times. The felled warrior's horse circles back, shakes its head, and runs at a gallop toward the men and their horses.
Need two Gun rolls for Ezekiel's horse. Then, Turn 3 is done. The range is still Extreme.
Ezekiel fired 8 shots. Please update your character sheet.

'Sarge' Ezekiel
Here are some rolls regarding firung while mounted and controlling Dandelion my horse.
Sarge Ezekiel: Gunfire vs Horse Intelligence (10) [1d20]=18 [1d20]=3
Sarge Ezekiel: Riding (19) [1d20]=18
Ezekiel: Luck (7): [1d20]=6
Subject to being dismounted, I will continue to shoot.
Ezekiel: Rifle (4): Careful Shot vs Dex 17 [1d20]=9Wound Location [1d20]=11 Severity [1d6]=4
And
Ezekiel: Rifle (4): Careful Shot vs Dex 17 [1d20]=3Wound Location [1d20]=14 Severity [1d6]=5
Both shots at the dismounted indian who is retrieving a body. My actions would be to keep my horse in place and shoot from the distance we are at currently.

Re: Chapter IV - Comancheria (Charlie & Ezekiel)
Sarge sees his shot fired at extreme long range hit the Comanche in the belly. He tries to lever a shell into the chamber, but knows from the sound and the feel that the magazine is dry. He yells something to the other two Comanches, swings up onto his horse's back and gallops to the rear. They leave the body they were hoisting up and also mount up and ride to the rear.
At the end of this turn the shot Comanche with a bow will be out of Extreme range. The other two with rifles will be a little inside the border of Extreme range. Reminder that all shooting by both sides happens before all moving by both sides.
Ezekiel has fired 9 shots here and 2 at the wagon train. Please update your sheet with the new number for ammunition.

Yes, except for the two that are down. The way they're headed, they'll move out of extreme range this turn if the PCs stay stationary.

Charlie
Charlie will try calling his horse. If that doesn't work he will shoulder his saddle and start working towards the horse (if he can see it) or the downed Comanches.

Re: Chapter IV - Comancheria (Charlie & Ezekiel)
Charlie's borrowed horse doesn't come on a whistle. In fact, the strong farm and ranch animal shies away from the loud reports of Sarge's nearby gunfire. Carrying the saddle and the saddle blanket to the reluctant horse, Charlie sees a fleeing Comanche stop his horse, drop to the ground, and take aim with an old breech-loading single-shot U.S. Army-issue Sharps rifle. His lever action Henry or Winchester can't even hope to return fire at that range.
[1d20]=13 Extreme range at Sarge -5. A miss.
[1d20]=13Extreme range at Sarge -5. A miss.
Bullets wind through air above and below. Over time, one of them might connect. And reaching the dropped Comanches's bodies would require riding up much closer. Say, to within 200 yds or so, the effective range of a lever action rifle....

Re: Chapter IV - Comancheria (Charlie & Ezekiel)
There's a line of live oaks around a half mile away to the north. (The wagon train is 5 miles to the east, the Comanches are to the west). Charlie knows that a line of trees on the prairie surely means a creek, which may be dry in June.
Sorry, I was wrong about your horse. It does come when you whistle. But I don't thing the error had and practical effect on the situation.
Borrowed horse – STR 18, INT 5; cutting out cattle, comes when whistle

Re: Chapter IV - Comancheria (Charlie & Ezekiel)
Charlie turns his borrowed horse north, touches spurs to flanks, and rides for the line of live oaks. Looking back, he sees the three Comanches to the west galloping northeast in a path to cut him off. The man with the Sharps rifle's horse pulls ahead of the two others. It looks like a strong and spirited horse. He wonders if they'll take the time to chase him down and battle him or go back to tend to their dead.
