Chapter 8 - Into the Swamp

Grimnar uses the water around them to clean all the blood off. "Well that was fun, I'll not be throwing my axes away in the swamp, just so it is known. Good luck finding your daggers. Damned Giant Mosquitos, grumble grumble."

Day 2 in the swamp

First portion of the day goes by uneventfully. More regular sightings in the swamp of non-threatening critters. Around about an hour or two after lunch you encounter something odd. in the distance it just looks like a frog on a log until you get closer the raft stops as about 30 yards from the frog you realize it has grown in size as you have gotten closer. It watches you and the raft with interest as it swallows the last thing it ate it's big wings sticking out of it's large mouth. Currently as far as you can tell you are out of it's tongue's range but these things can jump and swim & may well have friends nearby.

Taking note of the range and having had his fill of swamp creatures for the day, Reywald waves a spell of slumber in the large amphibian's area...

Trist looks it over to see if the creature that was swallowed shows any signs of life. “Maybe that creature is alive and could use our help.”

Trist prepares to shoot her bow twice.

Prepares his crossbow and keeps an eye out of any additional amphibians of large size...

Weston looks around, alert for more frogs or other dangers.

Tellurion

Seeing the giant frog in the distance and hearing Reywald’s incantation, Tellurion prepares for any potential threat, while maintaining a low profile on the raft.

He secures his daggers, ensuring they are ready for use, and positions himself to be able to react swiftly if the frog decides to attack. Then he scans the surrounding area, looking for any signs of additional threats or movement, keeping an eye on the frog and its possible companions.

In searching the area another of the big frogs is spotted to the west of the raft, so now there are two one to the north one to the west.

Egon readies his bow, just in case.

"Keep alert and keep us moving."

Del will cast Speak With Animals and ask, "What is the safest route to the green glowing light friend?"

Hadn't rolled for save yet. I just did.

The first frog's eyes close and it makes some odd croaking noises with part of a wing of a dead stirge still sticking out of it's lips.

The second frog looks at Del blinks it's eyes and croaks back at her.

I don't think there is typically a save for sleep spells. But the end result is the same this time it seems
