Revisiting The Caves: Pt.2

The cleric shakes his head: "I have no weapon and I'm injured. I'm no climber, if I fall it'll kill me. I can stay here and be the lookout. Don't underestimate the bandits, they are organised. The best you can hope for is to rescue the prisoners, the ones that haven't joined up."

Rida

"We need to try something. Some joined them? We can try ambushing them as they leave the cave right?"

Stobart

"It was join them or end up an undead servant. I guess I can't blame them for choosing the non-fatal option."

Rida

"Maybe they are acting and waiting for a chance to escape. We should give them one."

"That is certainly another possibility."

Crobeus - Human Paladin

Crobeus grabs a blade from one of the dead bandits before beginning the climb back up. "Dredd is a captive, Pim is unconscious. Renna and Meinhardt...I think they were doing what they had to in order to survive the day. I don't think they really joined the bandits. I hope they didn't, anyway. We are outnumbered, but we may be able to get the element of surprise. They may not know about your group." Looking around, he realizes someone is missing. "Hey, where's Magdal? She was left with three other bandit guards. I didn't mean to fall over the ledge- my plan was to knock a bandit over the edge and help her, but I guess I wasn't quite as good on my feet as I thought. Did anyone see what happened to them?"

"Some of the bandits, I am not sure how many, took her into that cave over there."

He points to the cave they went into.

Loyn Dwarf fighter

Loyn quietly moves toward the cave the bandits pulled Magdal into. As he stands on the exterior side of the cave, he’ll place his ear on the hard stone, attempting to listen for any discernible sounds, while the others make their way up the cliff wall.

From his lofty position, Gyb sees the others pointing and moving towards a second cave. He moves along the ridge in the same direction.

Crobeus - Human Paladin

Rida

"Some of the bandits, I am not sure how many, took her into that cave over there."

He points to the cave they went into.

"Then I think that's where we start."

Haldric offers, “ if there is a lot of them, we could go get help from the gnolls maybe. They seem to want some action anyway…”

Rida

"Good back up plan. Get Magdal first." He follows Crobeus' order and heads for the cave they took Magdal in.

Back To The Caves
Chaos Abound
Early Afternoon, Sprinkling

Keya makes sure there are no more obvious injuries before he rushes up the steep stone wall behind Gyb. Crobeus grabs a normal longsword from the fallen bandit and heads up as well, finding these steep ledges difficult to navigate in his heavy armor. After a short conversation below, Rida follows suit as well. Stobart, Bugs, and Haldric stay below where it's relatively safe, except for falling bandits. Haldric offers up a good suggestion as stones and dirt fall on him from his friends already scrambling up the rock wall.

Loyn, Cobb, and Gyb shuffle towards the second cave where Magdal was last seen, though Gyb remains elevated above the opening for now. Loyn doesn't need to put his ear to the stone to hear a sudden commotion coming from just inside the cave mouth. It sounds like the early stages of combat, as they are sure they hear a muffled battle cry from their female friend coming from the dark opening.

As Keya makes it to the ledge 20 feet or so up, he notices the others about to enter the far cave. The Elf is almost astonished to look back at the other cave opening where he suddenly spots an unarmed Meinhardt casually exit.

As Keya makes it to the ledge 20 feet or so up, he notices the others about to enter the far cave. The Elf is almost astonished to look back at the other cave opening where he suddenly spots an unarmed Meinhardt casually exit.

Keya makes a quick bird noise to draw his attention, and watches, he takes a arrow and puts it in his bow.

Rida will ready his heavy crossbow, preparing to shoot at any bandit accompanying Meinhardt.

Gyb waits for the armored folk to enter the cave below him. Once that happens he drops in behind them.

Bugs seems to be sorting things out in his head. Slowly. "The Gnolls would help, I think, but time is short for our friends. I think we have to act now."

"I'm going up. Maybe you could keep watch here and catch any allies that fall over." Bugs starts the climb.

Loyn hears the commotion, he nods at Cobb and charges around attacking any bad guys in sight.

Haldric raises a questioning eye, “stand guard here? Alone..?” He looks up the cliff face to see if it is remotely climbable or if a more reasonable path is evident he can follow the group in.

Crobeus - Human Paladin

The paladin follows on the heels of the dwarf, concerned for his companion who seems to be in combat by herself- and unarmed at that! If he is able, he will swing his new sword at whoever is attacking Magdal.
