Is that "Yes" for "stay and dig", or for "go and fight"?

Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
I will be home in 2 days so I'll get working then.
Once tou have some downtime i suggest Morwen studies the sword more. She has the Crsft Mystic Trinkets ability now so she could duplicate it's functions in expendable tokens or a resuable item (she cant enchant magic weapons though, so while she could make a sword with this property it wouldn't be any better in combat)

Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
I will absolutely do that, GM

Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
My IC post is mostly to get everyone able to share ideas, based on what we can do. That, and to let the DM add in anything we missed.

Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
I am home. Will get back to things tomorrow.
Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
I don't know what the plan is for Tibbius' return, but here's the funny idea that occurs to me.
Jing Si-woo (Leader, Lieutenant), Hemia (Leader), Gar (Pussiance/Prowess) and Drotik (Marshall) have been working with the "rabble" Sir Kyl has been stirring up and that Sir Tylar seems to dismiss. With Jing Jiho's Heroic Leader and morale impacts (positive on his side, negative on the enemy) they are motivated and now slightly disciplined units of foot. If Barnaby joined in with Inspire Allies it might make them unstoppable.

Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
Ah, that's a good point! I had been thinking Dramm, but Barnaby's an inspired choice.

Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
Si-woo will try to recruit one or more of the surviving woodsmen, if they are interested.
Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
I'm not sure if Leader or being JJh's number two man help, but the base roll is 9.
Si-woo recruit woodsmen [_2d6]=(4+5)=9
Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
Leader does help but 9 is already good.Leitz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 6:35 pm I'm not sure if Leader or being JJh's number two man help, but the base roll is 9.

Viable Henchmen [1d4]=4, Skirmishers [1d6]=5
The henchman are all Rangers. 1 3rd level, 1 2nd, 2 1st
The Skirmishers are all Ranger 1 that won't level up on their own and of course won't do dangerous adventuring tasks.

I like Dramm as the leader and Barnaby as his Bard-2 henchman.

I like Bofur being the "new dwarf king"

Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
A note to my fellow players. My character has Heroic Leadership and a +1 Charisma while I have the social skills of last week's pizza. I'm doing what I can to play him well, but if there's doubt, please think of the character's concept and not the player's typing.

Re: Discussion (out of character thread)
At this stage of the battle there are two main options:
1) Frontal Assault using the mass combat rules.
2) Heroic Foray where the PCs risk facing the enemy separate from their units.
Given the strength of the PCs and henchmen you can form a platoon or two on your own. So you can form up and choose to be either a normal platoon or to risk a foray.
To use magic Morwen must foray otherwise she is just as likely to hit your own troops.
