Svendt "I only have close ranged attacks at the moment, unless I throw a dagger. How about I come with you for the closer look?" the gnome offers.

Elias welcomes the help of Neia. I'm no healer either, but we can at least show some compassion and help the injured be more comfortable, even if they're dying, they don't need to feel abandoned.

He continues to search for other victims that have survived the collapse, but not hearing many calls for help, Elias doesn't hold much hope.

Helgash, Ahlannah and Svendt ease close to the spider. The spider is a giant black widow, but fortunately the immense vermin is several days dead, as becomes apparent from the smell and condition of the corpse as it’s approached.

Helgash

Helgash relaxes slightly as the stench of decay confirms the spider's death.

He cautiously approaches the giant black widow to examines it closer, looking for any signs of what might have killed such a dangerous creature.
His mind races with possibilities - other predators, disease, or perhaps even the demons from above. Turning to Ahlannah and Svendt, he says, "Stay alert. We need to understand what killed this spider. It could give us a clue about other dangers lurking nearby."

(Not sure if Scratch is also coming along?)

Svendt looks around for signs of something that might have killed the spider. "It's dead, but why do we care what did it? It could've just been others like us."

Helgash

Helgash looks at Svendt thoughtfully, his expression serious. "Understanding how this spider met its end could give us valuable insight into what else inhabits these caverns," he explains quietly, "It might have fallen victim to something more dangerous or cunning. By knowing its fate, we can better prepare ourselves and avoid any potential threats." He glances around the cavern, "Every detail might matter down here. We need to be vigilant."

Those near the spider note two disturbing elements—a muffled chewing sound and a bulge wriggling inside of the spider’s abdomen.

Helgash

Helgash frowns deeply in agreement with Ahlannah. "A creature eating it from the inside?" he murmurs, "That's unsettling." He gestures for everyone to move back cautiously, keeping his morningstar at the ready. "Stay alert," he advises, "Whatever did this might still be nearby." Helgash scans the cavern, his senses heightened, looking for any signs of movement or danger. If he finds no other immediate source of danger, he suggests they get back to tending the wounded, and return to the mysterious spider later.

Svendt draws his rapier once more 'being alert' "Hmm maybe some sort of giant bug eating a giant spider? That would be a weird role reversal."

Helgash

Helgash relaxes slightly as they move away from the spider and find no other immediate threats. He turns to Svendt, nodding thoughtfully at his observation. "A role reversal indeed," he muses, "but one we should stay wary of."

Looking back towards the rest of the group, Helgash motions for everyone to regroup near the injured. "Let's get back to the wounded," he says firmly. "We need to ensure their safety and stability before anything else. Neia, Elias, how are they faring? Any critical injuries?"

He walks over to where Elias and Neia are tending to the injured, his expression softening as he sees them working diligently. "Good work, both of you," he commends. "Let's keep at it. We need to be ready to move if another threat arises."

Helgash kneels next to one of the injured, carefully assessing their condition, ready to assist in any way he can.

Svendt nods his head and puts away his sword and goes back to where the injured are located. "I'm just a swashbuckling bard but is there anything I can do to help the injured?" the gnome asks. "I could sing a song, or read a poem, or tell a story." he smiles.

The three NPCs are in various stages of shock and pain at this point.

Aravashnial took a lash to the face and eyes from the balor’s flaming whip.

Horgus Gwerm complains a lot about aches and pains, but seems relatively unharmed upon inspection.

Helgash

Helgash surveys the injured group, his attention immediately drawn to Anevia's predicament. He hurries over to her side, kneeling down to assess the situation. "Anevia, can you hear me?" he asks gently, trying to keep his voice calm and reassuring. "It looks like your leg is pinned. We'll get you out of there, but we need to be careful." He looks around for sturdy pieces of rubble that can be safely moved without causing further collapse.

"Svendt, Ahlannah, help me clear this rubble off her leg," he requested, gesturing towards the bard and the sorcerer. "Gently does it. We don't want to aggravate her injuries."

With a controlled effort, Helgash and the others carefully lift and shift the rubble. Once they've managed to free Anevia's leg, Helgash assesses the extent of her injuries.

Ahlannah

She came over and did her best to help clear the debris off of the Woman's leg. Once she could get examine the leg, she bent down to examine it, determine if it needed a bandage or a splint of some kind?
