"I am with Fahima, we need to take them now, not let them be help for the undead one." Zan says in a calm voice while smiling.

Gormundel shrugs. "So...what should I tell them?"

Cassius
"My stomach is telling me that I could eat. It's been a rough couple of days. No, hours. No, I don't know. Maybe we pause and have a meal with them. I want to know where that Basilisk is before we go anywhere."
Cassius looks at the others and shrugs. "Fine. No meal with the minions of the undead. How about we go with them, then 'spot' some tracks and branch off to follow them? Or just put the lot to sleep now."
"You see? My mind wanders when I've not eaten well for days."

Re: The Tomb of the Lizard King
Moving forward guys...
With the hesitation of the group, the lizardmen get a bit restless; they glance at each other, hissing in their draconic tongue. After a few moments, their "leader" steps forward and says, "Big lizzyrd...ssslay to ssstone...kingsss tomb." It points at the pyramid just behind the campfires.
"Sssharp teeth clan...gift to King...go to you...go with you. Yesss?"
Gormundel turns to his friends and says, "They want to go with us. Seems they too have a gift for Sakatha."
Lt. Dan sighs and groans. "Then let's just go already! Hells bells! The basilisk may be dead for all we know! If not, maybe these lizardmen can distract it while we kill it."
Just then, a small lizardman, a child you might say, steps out from behind the others and slowly approaches Zan.
The juvenile looks the Elf up and down and then cautiously reaches out and takes Zan by the hand. "We go...I ssshow you. Yesss?"

As he following the lizard child, Zan whispers to the child, "What is your gift?", hoping he doesn't already know that the answer is the party.

Roan winces at the question hoping the answer is not the adventuring group. "Better hope they dun say it's us."

Re: The Tomb of the Lizard King
The juvenile lizardman cocks its head and gives Zan a quizzical look (if such can be conveyed with reptilians) and says, "You gave gift...stony lizzzard. Dead now...prolly."

Cassius
He sighs and adjusts his armor. "OK then. Let's go. At least the little one speaks common, he can tell us where to stand to be sacrificed."
Cassius stays near the front of the marching party.

Follows along with his long bow out.
Well this should be interesting. Maybe we try a little stealth here?

Re: The Tomb of the Lizard King
Into the Tomb of the Lizard King
Led by the adventuresome young lizard man, the wary companions allow themselves to be led to their doom...to the large structure looming in the near distance. It is an ancient structure; that can be seen from just a casual observance. It stands nearly 20' high and in the center of the wall facing you (and the river), are two 5' wide, 12' tall doors, bronze plated and slightly ajar. The metal on the doors has been divided into little panels, and each panel has a small scene done in bas-relief. Most of these scenes depict the everyday life of lizard men, but those in the top panels on each door show a great Lizard King wielding a fearsome trident in battle against humans, or receiving sacrifices of humans and other slaves. Other depictions of the Lizard King in some panels show him with lightning bolts and fireballs leaping from his fingertips.
Slowly, the young lizard man approaches the doors and pushes one open. It silently opens inward to reveal a huge room filled with tables and chairs, some overturned, some broken, but one table in the middle of the room, is laid out with a fine cloth of linen, porcelain plates, silver utensils and enough food and drink to feed a small army!
The smells coming from the feast cause your hungry bellies to rumble; even the lizard men accompanying you seem to salivate over it. On the walls are pictures of lizard men at a great feast. The pictures appear to be made of an unrecognizable mosaic material. Two wide hallways trail off on either side of the room. Other than the overturned tables, there is no sign of the basilisk's passing.

"Where is everyone? And would it be rude to eat without them?" Cassius moves to a nearby overturned table, thinking to use it for cover if needed. He'll look around for stoned figures or signs that this table was also set for a feast.

Re: The Tomb of the Lizard King
As you stand there pondering what to do next, several of the lizard men step out of the mosaic! They are not armed and seem almost friendly, in a reptilian sort of way. "Greetingsss, guestsss of the Great King. Welcome to the eternal feassst. Pleassse, let us ssserve you."
The other lizard men (about six total) gesture to the chairs at the feast table, clearly wanting you to sit down and eat.
