He registers that Loyn said something and turns to him. "Huh? Junior? Oh. No, he must be hurt and weak, he never called me junior."

Haldric hefts his hammer and raises a curious and cautious eyebrow, "What's the crack here? Is your Pappy some kind of shape shifter?"

Mid Morning, Partly Cloudy

As the party talks over this new predicament, they hear rustling near the edge of the patch of thorny trees. Eventually a head pops up from a leaf covered area in between two of the thorniest and largest. The head is small, like a gnomes, and wearing a brown pointed hat. Eventually the head crawls out of the leaf cover, and you see that it is fortunately attached to a brown robed little body of a gnome who looks unmistakably like your tiny friend Bugs. The figure stands there for a moment. staring at Bugs uncomfortably before he speaks again.

(it helps to read his dialog in a very bad scottish accent)
"My shtars it TIS you, June ya! You actually answered my call thish time? How long hash it been mi boi?"

The tiny gnome who looks like Bugs appears to be carrying something in his cupped hands, though you can't tell exactly what it might be.

LOL, I am struggling with the 4 Int too. An interesting experiment anyway.

Rida will step closer to Pappy and take a close look to make sure he is really a gnome.

Gyb stands a bit further back. (slightly more suspicious - Int 8 ) "Gnome-father. A strange place to run. Danger here more than gnolls, yes?"

Loyn’s very happy for Bugs to have found his Da, but this triggers a sadness within him, about his own father’s whereabouts. He wipes a tear off his face.

He clears his throat, then says, “I am Loyn, son of Groyn, good to meet you and very Glad to see you’re ok!” He looks at Bugs’s Da intently… “What you holding onto sir, something tasty?”

Haldric sighs. "So back to the keep, then? Regroup with the others and make preparations for the Gnolls?"

Mid Morning, Partly Cloudy

Peppy the hippie gnome looks somewhat disappointed at the reply from his boy Bugs. "PIP! Whatsh the matta with you boi? You havent sheen your ol' Da in.....whatsh it been? thirty yearsh now? And all ye can say is letsh get back to that damn Keep?" He looks to the others than back to Bugs. "Howsh about a hug, at leasht?"

The little gnome then looks up at Rida. "Growling? I didn't hear any growling."

He then looks up at Haldric and Gyb. "Gnolls? Ack! They're harmlessh enough, I shuppose. You know, they've been chased out of their cave at the ravine, or show I hear."

Finally he looks to Loyn Groynson with a hint of recognition on his wrinkled face. "Shon of Groyn, ya shay? That dwarfsh got quite a reputatsion at the Keep, ya know."

When asked if the item he holds is tasty, the gnome pulls his hands away and snaps. "Of courshe he ishnt tashty! He'sh my friend! Ratsh!"

The gnome un-cups his hands slightly to reveal a tiny little field mouse resting comfortably in his palm.

"Thirty years is lots of time to talk about. Gyb thinks the Keep would be the best place for talking. Nothing in the Keep is roaring."

Gyb takes a few more steps back, hoping this will encourage everyone to follow.

Curse you, playing on the character's low common sense.

Bugs rolls his eyes and chuckles. "Ok, Da, you're right. But I promised your wife that I'd bring you back, and I know better than to disappoint." He moves to put his arm around Peppy and continues. "How come you never told me about her? Lovely woman."

Loyn swallows hard after Peppy’s response, hoping someday he’ll have the same joyous reunion with his father. “Ya, me Father’s reputation exceeds itself within the walls of the Keep! If I only knew where he was!” Loyn, thinks for a bit and says to Peppy, “If the gnolls are harmlessh enough, why haven’t you gone back home on your own? Why stay out here?”

Peppy looks at Gyb and nods. "Oh, I shee what you're shaying now. Shomeone shaid growling, not roaring. That must have been Ratsh here. I have taught him a few tricksh. That'sh what you musht have heard." He whispers to the mouse, "shpeak, Ratsh." With that, the tiny mouse lets out a roar so powerful and loud that it blows your hair backwards. It sounds the same as the roars you heard earlier.

The elderly gnome smiles at the astonished looks on everyone's face before addressing Loyn. "I dont like the Keep sho much these daysh. It's nice to shtay out here in the wild shometimesh. I've built myshelf a nice little camp in thish thicket. Complete with cool running water and everything. Would you like to shee?"

He turns back to Bugs lastly. "Ah, yesh. You've met Penelope then, I shee. Nice enough ol' gal, perfect for rearing gnomish children and all, but godsh how that woman can nag!"

Seeing most of the group attempting to get him to return, he finally gives in. "I shopposhe it ish time to head back inshide though. I would guessh ol' Tarlac wash concerned ash well?"
