Ulfgar

If G6 is taken care of he moves to G8 and attacks. If G6 isn't taken care of he attacks G6.

Great Axe [1d20+3]=18+3=21 to hit [1d8+2]=1+2=3 damage

Round 5 Begins

Combat Initiative Rolls/Turn Order:
Naugrim 20 <-- I rolled
G4 18
Unknown Goblin sounding noises coming from OUT of Sight behind Willow and Wendel 17
G3 15
Wendel 14
Willow 13 <-- I rolled
Fergus 11
Black Wolf 7
Ulfgar 4

Actions/Moves due: Thursday the 11th 3pm CST

Note 1: Everyone but Naugrim will hear these unknown noises coming from south of Wendel and Willow before their action/move!
Note 2: PCs move 1 zone and have an action (that action can be to move 1 more zone).
OOC: Time has past for posts, so here we go!

Naugrim pulls out a rope and ties the Goblin's (G6) hands behind his back and stuffs a rag in his mouth.

Goblin G4 runs as fast as its little feet will take it up the trail away from all of you! You'll never catch him on foot unless he slows down or stops!

Everyone hears the sounds of goblin voices coming from behind you around the bend in the trail. There are shouts of "Hurry!", "Let's get 'em!" for those that understand Goblin and a generalized "Raough!!! for those that don't."

You see 4 of the creatures come around the corner. Two are carrying short bows and two have spears. They skid to a halt seeing all of you and the multitude of dead Goblins lying on the ground and (1-3 they run, 4-6, they fight [1d6]=2) their shouts turn to "AEEEE!" and they think better of being here at all. They turn tail and run back around the bend in the trail disappearing from sight as fast as they appeared.

Goblin G3, already limping away, continues to do so. He's trying hard to escape, but hurt as he is he is having trouble making time. Then Wendel moves up and looses another of his magical missiles at the back of the fleeing creature, knocking him forward and down to the ground, dead!

Willow snaps off another shot at the fleeing goblins to ensure none escape. (G3 on 1 or 2, G4 on 3, 4, 5 or 6...[1d6]=5) Willows arrow strikes the fleeing Goblin (G4) and it spins around before falling dead on the ground with the arrow protruding from its chest. Then hearing the noises behind her, she scurries forward towards the others to ensure she isn't caught on a new front-line.

Fergus looks down at his bloody hand. "You little green s***s!", he wipes his hand on his sleeves and races off after the goblins and attacks (G3 if still alive, if not G4 if he can reach it). As he starts his swing at G3, it falls dead, so he passes him and hasn't quite caught up with G4 as it falls dead with an arrow in its back. Skidding to a halt, Fergus is left with no one alive to take his anger out on! Fergus turns around and sees four goblins coming into the clearing from behind everyone, but when they see him they turn tail and run! Ha!

OOC: No action from Black Wolf? Okay, I'll NPC him...

Black Wolf stands put, turning to face the new threat. The new threat that runs away when it sees him! Ha!

Ulfgar goes to attack any standing goblins, but alas, they are all down. The only one still alive is being bound by Naugrim. Turning he sees four more coming from behind, but the bastards all turn tail and run when they see him! Ha!

OOC: You're now out of combat...for the moment. You have 11 dead goblins scattered around you and one who is alive, but bounded tightly and gagged as well. You know there are, at least, four more of the little buggers out there somewhere, but they all turned tail and ran away. So, take a moment to breathe, and now...

What do you do?

"Now, my small friend, do you have a name? Tell me your name," says the stout dwarf (in the Goblin tongue if needed) to the bound goblin in a sonorous, serious tone. Waving with a hand at the deadly warriors looking goblin corpses around them, "you know the seriousness and the capability of my companions and have seen that your own companions, such that still live, have fled and abandoned you. I am also sure thst you know that, under the Kudzul Convocation of the Goblin Punic Wars Article 3, your own life is forfeit for the crimes of kidnapping, skulduggery, and assault upon your betters... unless you have aught you can trade that would be of equivalent value for said life." Naugrim pauses, wiping the head of his mace for a moment, his eyes peering dubiously from under heavy brows. "Do you? Do you have anything to offer of true value in exchange for your life?" His tone contemplative, scraping a dried piece of something from the mace head with a neatly trimmed fingernail, "Under article 5, of course, information on your superiors is a clear item of significant valuation, especially when combined with the location of your victim, which demonstrates remorse for your criminal acts. I am sure, of course, you acted under compulsion of a higher authority and that you, of course, deeply regret and wish to ammend your ways. Is it not so? Tell me of the one you work for, who directed you here, and also where the kidnapped wizard is."

Ulfgar searches the goblins with Fergus joining him.

"Maybe we can find some clues to what they are up to."

Fergus in particular he takes a look at a goblin short bow.
Between the two of them they go through the bodies, it's a bad business as there is a lot of blood mixed with filthy clothing and bodies. The haul is just about as disgusting as you only come up with 2 silver and 3 copper pieces, a sling and bag of pebbles, 11 badly made (but functional) spears, and the pair of short bows with a collection of 18 arrows spread between two quivers. Ulfgar finds a small goat's horn under one of the dead bowmen with a hole cut in it so you can blow through it.

Fergus goes over the two short bows. He thinks one is in reasonably good shape and worth taking, although its string is frayed and could break on any shot. The other bow has a freshly cracked limb and is worthless, but it does have an almost new string on it.

Fergus looks up

"I got a minor scratch from one of the goblins. Will it take long? ... I need to see if can restring this bow. Unless someone else wants to try."

Fergus will let Wendel look at the cut. If nobody else wants to have a go at putting the good string on the good bow he'll try after Wendel has finished.

The Goblin blinks a few times as Naugrim talks then says, "Ur, me name's me business, and I don't know much about whatever else you'us spouting off about, but yeah we took a Magic Man. The Boss wanted him for sum'then or other. If he plays nice the Boss'll let him go."

The bound Goblin turns his head and spits out fibers from the cloth you had gagged it with then grins widely, "Say! I'm bett'en, Salub 'ud sure want to meet you folk! He might just swap that Wizard guy for doing sum'then he wants doing! We ain't a gonna do it cause'a the gods, but ya got different gods, yeah? Yeah! I'm bett'en, Salub'd dicker with ya, fur sure!"

"Course, now I canna take ya to 'em all tied up 'er dead..." the green creature looks up at you trying for an innocent expression, but to you it looks more sly than innocent.

Willow is lucky to retrieve all her arrows. None were broken or lost in the surrounding woods. One she has to cut loose from a tree, but it seems undamaged and the ones in the Goblins didn't shatter as they went through. She is careful to wipe the bloody arrows and the dagger she used to cut the arrows free on the filthy clothing of her victims before replacing them in her quiver. Ideally, she would wash the arrows with mild soap and water and thoroughly dry them before using them again to prevent corrosion of the arrow heads and warping of the shaft, but that can't always happen in the field. Wiping them down is the best she can do for now...she thinks as she walks forward to the edge of the clearing.

She looks up, up the trail the Goblins came down and where to they were trying to flee. She squats down examining the ground closely. Yes, the tracks go this way, drag marks that turn into stumbling foot prints. Different from the bare feet of the Goblins, these have shoes. Beto the Wizard probably. She follows the trail a few more steps and is sure the Wizard was taken this way.

OOC: Wendel succeeds and more! That will be 2 hp recovered by Fergus.

Removing arrows and binding wounds is about all Wendel became good at before he left the Hospitalry but he did become good at that. Wendel, always keeps a bag of moss, strong thread and a needle, and clean wraps and plasters in his backpack.

Looking at Fergus' wound, Wendel sees it isn't very deep, so it doesn't need any stitching. Instead he takes a wad of moss and pushes it to Fergus' side into the gash left by the spear and then wraps a cloth bandage around him tightly.

From his training Wendel knows this moss has healing properties because of its structure, but also the elements added to it when it is cleaned and prepared. Specifically, it has the ability to slow, often stop, bleeding quickly, ease pain, and promotes good healing. Unfortunately, he doesn't know exact how to prepare the moss himself and has to buy it from herbalists whenever he runs low on the stuff.

Fergus nods at Wendel

"Thank's, much appreciated."

Fergus sets about wondering about moving the string from one bow to the other when he suddenly has an idea, and goes over to the female halfling

"You're pretty good with that bow. The goblin's bows are pretty poor, but one has a good string and if we can restring the one half-decent bow we might have something worth using. Could you give me a hand?"

Naugrim smiles benignly to the goblin, adjusting his tack. He simply gestures to the imposing Ulfgar, standing beside him."What I mean to say, you need to offer something more substantive to live at all. The punishment for your crimes is otherwise death." He drops into a crouch to look the Goblin in the eyes. "Who is Salub? What did he wish that your gods forbid you to do? What does he want the wizard for? Be forthcoming. I really do not wish to see you dead, either... and there's little purpose in you trying to hustle me."

......

There's no difficulty in following a plodding, barefoot big ol' human wizard," pipes up Willow, efficiently wiping blood and goblin brain matter from her arrows as she pads into the clearing. She points to the the trail. "No reason to be so foolish as to say we will follow the goblin. What else does he know?"

As Fergus, the grim efficiency drops away as the tiny woman moves to the side to aid her fellow scout. She smiles kindly to him, rosy cheeked, her nimble, small fingers deftly following his direction to help with the bow.
