Wrathbone
To work out any lingering issues that the Barrowmaze fooled us into slaying a noble knight, the dwarf will chooses a door in the east corridor, (the first locked one) and using whatever pick or sledgehammer we have, proceed to knock it through.

Exploring beyond the Harpy Shaft.
Deciding on some action, the next crypts in the east corridor are assaulted. Several thuds and then the door gives way under the swung sledgehammers.
The first crypt is designed in similar fashion to its neighbour, a smaller alcove fashioned beyond a carved archway of stone in the NE corner. This first crypt, though locked has been ransacked. Broken amphora litter the floor, the pottery pieces crunching underfoot. Inside the alcove is a skeleton resting in a simple plinth. He has been stripped of whatever armour and weapons he once wore. However a few salvageable remnants are left behind, three wax Neshralk on a shelf. These are the collective term for 'funerary figures' and these wax carved ones represent a typical caricature of a soldier in guard. The figures are like thick candles, about ten inches high and each has a tapering wick inside it.
The next door at the end of the corridor is treated with equal brutality. Wrathbone, Rickford & Duvall each taking a whack before it gives way. Another crypt with separate alcove.
Snakes! Fydmar's favourite. Not behemoth beasts that swallow a man whole but several viper like creatures that hiss and writhe as the door is barged open. The initiate warning strikes at the legs of any who try to cross the threshold into the crypt. You will need do so to explore the smaller chamber but the floor is covered with these serpents, so any access is done at great risk potentially.

Re: Barrowmaze: Repatriating the Red Lion of Aerik
Genaromes moves backwards, chilled by the presence of the deadly reptiles. Thinking quickly, he figures that a skeleton warrior has little to fear from such creatures. But he is hesitant to use his last bone finger for this task. "What do you say?" he asks his companions. "Do I use my last finger to get rid of these snakes?"

Fydmar
Snakes....it had to be snakes...
That is a good thought, Genaromes. Another option is we could burn them, but that could harm treasures hidden within. Perhaps if we are careful with the oil & only burn a patch at a time?
The snakes room is the farthest door on our left, yes?

I am thinking this is the room east of the "sleeping beauty" room on the north side of the hallway
Bhelnus
I'm thinking we close the door and revisit the room if we need to. I doubt Sir Guy is in there.

Bhelnus speaks wisely. There will be peril enough by the time our duty here in through.

Genaromes shrugs and gets ready to explore the next room.

Durgo takes the candles and stashes them in his backpack. "The Chapel might like these or as a selling item they might fetch a nice coin for our group."
Durgo comments, "Let's leave it be and perhaps we can cleanse it when we leave on the way out. Next room then."

Wrathbone do you want to help me with the door across the hall from the "Sleeping Beauty" room?
does the hallway continue or deadend past the doors? If it deadends, I believe we should check for secret doors after we clear the last two rooms.

Exploring beyond the Harpy Shaft
The east wing of crypts are broken into. Despite shrugging off Fydmar's previous lockpicking, the crypt doors cannot sustain the more brutal assault of sledgehammers. Patience, strength and a little endeavour and the two remaining crypts give way.
The first crypt, closest to the west has three raised slabs, resting upon each is a body wrapped in burial shrouds. Sitting cross legged at the foot of each slab is a gargoyle statue; not a large monstrous figure like the statue in the other room, rather these are short, pot bellied carvings with a caricature face of bulbous features more like a 'garden gnome statue' that fancy gardens or villas might decorate flowerbeds with. Each impish figure holds a reed pipe like a flute.
The second crypt, opposite the 'sleeping beauty' room is also a small twenty foot square chamber of loose tiled flagstones and plasterwork walls. This crypt suffers a bit more than the others in the area, with patches of mustard coloured mould in all corners and large globules of gel like blobs cling to the ceiling and drape over the single coffer that is set against the rear wall.

Bashes the first door, barging it open for others to explore then hacks and hammers on the second.
He looks inside. "Mouldy, not keen on those blobs. Oozes, slimes, gelly creatures. Never know if they are sentient and want to feed on us. But I think many cannot digest precious metals and coins."
I will look at Bhelnus and others. Is this crypt worth exploring?
"I doubt your Sir Guy is entombed here Durgo."
Wrathbone: hurls Javelin. [1d20]=10 [1d6]=4
I would toss a javelin at a big blob in case I can pop it like a big balloon.

Can Gen or Ygnvar use some spell on the moulds and oozes? If not, I think we should examine the room with garden gnome gargoyles a little more closely.

Durgo says, "I fear you are correct Wrathbone. I believe Sir Guy is further in this maze. Perhaps fire would deal with the mould and I'd not like those blobs dropping on me as I searched the coffer. It's a good sign though possibly that it hasn't been sacked possibly. Let's search the other one first gets what we want of it. Then deal with this one before searching for secret doors."
Durgo heads back to the other room with the others. He makes sure he has his lantern lit if needed otherwise stowed when cooled.

Room across from sleeping beauty is not one I like the look of. I say move on, although we could take a look at the 3 slabs room with the mini-'goyles if anyone has a hankering. Someone with oil should keep watch to make sure those slimy things don't start moving toward the exit. (if no one else volunteers, he will do it oil in hand) Snakes room also needs watching, burning, or close it back up if possible. Durgo, didn't you get that the remains of Sir Guy was somewhere in the other direction?

Durgo comments, "Aya Fydmar. Twas further in the direction of the illusion room with the mummy. Sir Guy's remains are likely further in that direction. Let's close these up then as best we can and move on. "
Durgo helps get things in order with securing the rooms so they can move on.

I will need a definite action in this regard. Who goes in to explore.I think we should examine the room with garden gnome gargoyles a little more closely.
In the other crypt, the gel blobs do not presently react to the thrown javelin which did not impale into any creature and the shaft clatters by the coffer.
Yngvar has no specific slime afflicting spells and prefers to save his Magic Missile castings versus more threatening creatures. Can Gen or Ygnvar use some spell on the moulds and oozes?

"Alright..Let's get everyone to the gargoyle room to lend a better search of it", comments Durgo. "Let's be smart about it too. Let's not crowd the searchers. 2 or 3 go in and the rest of us spread out in the hallway. Stay alert for any wandering beasties. IF we need to do a fighting retreat, we do so to the harpy shaft. Keep your earplugs close just in case."
Sword and shield ready.

Genaromes is ready to react to any danger coming the way of those searching the garden gnome room. He is keen to move on when this is done.
