The Highway
Moonday, 17th day of Planting, 597
12th day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 62/63)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 53/53)
Boff (AC 5, HP 61/61)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 48/48) (Continual Light rock)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 64/65, Armor 26/26) (Glowing Sword)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 49/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 27/27, Armor 8/8) (Continual Light coin)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8) (Glowing Dagger)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Nah Olos attempts to climb along the wall but even with the rough walls given his slightly slippery hands and feet he makes it 12' down the hallway. With Siouxsie's light in place it is clear the mud area is 40' long. (The brown X's show the mud)
Qleceec fires two arrows at the middle flying serpent and hits it twice for 5 HP.
Boff critically hits (see house rules) with southern flying serpent one of his arrows for 10 HP.
Androgost and Siouxsie realize they have little to offer in this situation.
Garrant drops some heavy ice on the flying serpents for 19 HP damage!
Hex centers a Paralyzation spell on the flying serpents, but none of the serpents seem to be affected.
Raffi with is glowing dagger lights the way for Frannie and himself (10' radius). Frannie for a moment considers using her sling to shot at a 130' range, around all the members of the party in a 10' high and wide corridor and then gives up the idea.
The three flying serpents are hurt from the attacks and perhaps momentarily stunned by the paralyzation, but one labelled #1 says, "Those four Primers stopped the expansion of our mud bath, but we can be immune from their attacks if we combine to create the Whirlwind of Death!"
The other two say, "YESSSS!"
The three flying serpents locks their tails, with their teeth and feathers pointing out. The trio of creatures starts spinning very fast coming very close to the walls at a height of about 4.5 feet off the mud ground and move about 10' down the corridor in the direction of Nah Olos and eventually the rest of the group.

Nah Olos will climb higher up the wall and wait until the creatures come close enough for him to jump them to grapple them or pin them down in the mud.

Garrant lets fly with a magic missile at one of the serpents:
Magic Missile damage: [4d4+4]=9+4=13
Retain 1st lvl evo (vs 16):[_4d6]=(2+5+6+3)=16 (pass, just)

Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Androgost seethes at the futility of his inability to meet the enemy in melee. His knuckles are white on his sword and his eyes are locked on the flying creatures with a smoldering intensity.

Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8) (Glowing Dagger)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
The three flying serpents having locked into the so-called Whirlwind of Death and seem to become rigid with the teeth and feathers acting like saw blades. The creatures spins faster and faster and it sounds like whoosh, WHOOSH, WHOOSH, WHOOSH as the joined creatures move down the corridor. Androgost and Qleceec stand swords at the ready to take on the these strange creatures. Boff is unclear what he should do and Siouxsie throws a javelin that is perhaps deflected by the wind being created by these creatures. Garrant fires a Magic Missile and it hits one of the three (unclear which is which at this point) - but it has no apparent affect on the incoming attack, Hex watches the rear with Raffi and Frannie way back in the rear.
Nah Olos climbs up to the top of the wall, getting ready to spring on top of this mess. The WHOOSHing sounds comes down the corridor. At the right time he springs from the wall with his arms a legs wide and attempts to grapple. Just at this moment, the sounds and the spinning creatures disappear leaving poor Nah Olos landing with a belly flop into the mud to which he begins sinking almost instantly (the sinking rate is 1 foot / 6 seconds and landing in a belly flop Nah Olos will be covered in the mud in about a segment.)

Hex will move up and try and disbelieve the mud.
Raffi will go and get Frannie and lead her to the group. Keeping his eyes and glowing dagger behind them as he does so.

The Highway -
Moonday, 17th day of Planting, 597
12th day since leaving Loftwick

Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 53/53)

Androgost (AC -6, HP 60/65, Armor 25/26) (Glowing Sword)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 49/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 27/27, Armor 8/8) (Continual Light coin)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8) (Glowing Dagger)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Starting in the mud pit, Nah Olos tries to push off to stand and finds that he is just going deeper his face is under the mud forcing him to hold his breath, but his hands are looking for a life line.
Androgost rushes forward to help drag Nah out of the mud. Since there is a 10' pit in the way Androgost tries to jump it across the 10' pit in plate armor and he makes a good 6 feet across the pit, but falls to the 20' deep pit for 5 point of damage (4 to the person and 1 to the armor).
Qleceec yells "We need rope up here now!", but remembers that she had her silk rope out, move up and throws one end in the area of Nah Olos. Qleceec I am asking for 4d6 vs. (DEX + 1) roll to get the end of the rope in the area of Nah Olos hand (the +1 helps you). If that is successful, Nah Olos will need a normal 4d6 vs DEX to grab the rope. Siouxsie berates the stupid flying snakes but also moves to help Qleceec when hauling becomes required.
Boff shakes his head at the whole situation and Garrant wounders aloud if it is an illusion, but does nothing else. The illusionist moves up and says "That mud is an illusion." All of the wondering and disbelieving does not impact the mud at this time. (Any such rolls done behind the screen)
Frannie and Raffi move up closer to the group.
If both rolls are successful, Nah Olos will be holding on to one side of the rope if either fails then no luck. If either roll fails it will take a round to roll up the rope to try again or another rope can be used. With no hostile force to deal with that takes us to the parties actions.
