"Please, we mean no harm. Show yourself that we can be clearly seen. You have no need of fear, we are just travellers and heading that way ""I think it was the winged serpents who did this. They are quite dangerous. There is a side tunnel that will get you around like 12 to 15,000 feet back perhaps you can find it."

The Highway
Moonday, 17th day of Planting, 597
12th day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 62/63)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 53/53)
Boff (AC 5, HP 61/61)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 48/48)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 64/65, Armor 26/26) Glowing Sword
Garrant (AC 8, HP 49/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 27/27, Armor 8/8) (Continual Light coin)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Boff and Siouxsie continue to parlay with the person in the hall. Boff says "Oi and who be you? Thank you for yer warning just wondering who'd be warning folks, you a worker trying to fix this mess?" and Siouxsie says "Please, we mean no harm. Show yourself that we can be clearly seen. You have no need of fear, we are just travellers and heading that way." The voice from the hall replies back, "I am neither scared of you Prime deni, travelers on the Highway nor a worker. This is my home and I was trying to be polite, but it appears that no good deed goes unpunished as the pranksters, the flying serpents have heard you. I do not wish to deal with them any more today - enjoy."
Siouxsie is about to lose her infravision (until she re-adjusts her eyes) because of Hex's light. At this time she is having trouble seeing much of anything.
Nah Olos comes across the pit with no problem (the walls are rough and he is skilled at this).
But this is where it gets crazy.

But this is where it gets crazy.
- Nah Olos gets off the wall and almost loses his balance into what feels like mud or perhaps quicksand. He immediately starts to sink quickly (2 inches per second, 1 foot per segment).
- Boff, Qleceec and Nah Olos using their infravision can see three flying serpents at the end of the hall.
- It sounds like the "voice" closes a (secret?) door hiding the corridor from view and ending the conversation for now.

Nah Olos will climb back up out of the mud/quicksand; if that is not possible, draw his sword and attack the serpents once they close in.

"Right oh! " she says, adding a few expletives to the vanishing voice, still none the wiser to who the speaker actually is.
Snakes that fly? I only know of mystical Couatl types. She readies herself if these 'prankster snakes' want a conflict that she would rather avoid. She will uncover the Continual Light rock to get the best illumination for us and we can see what we are doing

Any reactions from Androgost, Garrant, Hex, or Raffi. I will be moving this along in about 24 hours.

Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Androgost has heard enough. To those in the rear guard with him, "I'm moving up to help. Someone keep an eye to our rear!"
Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Raffi will draw his sword as well, keeping Watch.
Hex will take out his wand in preparation. What’s happening up there? he calls. He will move up behind the cavalier, encouraging Raffi to follow them carefully, but keeping his eyes on the rear of the group

Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Siouxsie pulls out her Continual Light rock and takes a few steps forward so that she (and many others can see the "flying serpents" in something other than Infravision.) All three of them are bright green, with feathered head and wings
Flying Serpent
Nah Olos is stuck in a very thick mud and he manages using his immense upper body strength to stop himself from being pulled down in the mud, and he even then pulls himself out and is clinging to the southern wall.
Qleceec sling the silk rope over her shoulder and is ready to fire at the serpents, but they do not get close enough for her to think they are hostile yet. Boff has not such a worry and moves up next to Qleceec and fires two shots at extreme short range (50-55') and hits with one of them.
Androgost, Garrant and Hex move up behind the line. Raffi is watching the rear so that Frannie is not left all alone, but soon realizes that the two henchpersons are away from the group and in the dark (the edge of Hex's CL is about 5 feet towards the main group from Raffi). Frannie's spell affects Qleceec, Siouxsie, Androgost, Garrant and Hex, but not Boff because he has fired by that point.
The central serpent calls to the group, "Come swim in our mud-bath, we have hidden a treasure at the bottom."
The one on the southern side of the corridor, says, "Come on let us extend the bath, so that big batch of Primers can enjoy it!"
The three serpents start chanting and the three tails are moving in unison.

Androgost surveys the field quickly and wishes the flying monsters were closer so he could sink his sword into them. He looks vainly for a way to cross the mud.

Does Garrant have enough of a line of sight to cast Ice Storm on the Winged Serpents?
