Okay. So it sounds like the bulk of the party is willing to try and find their way out and return to Threshold. I have yet to hear from Finglas, so assume at this time that Bregalad is Lost in the Dark 'til he reappears.

I need a vote -- preferably from everyone -- as to where you want to go next.

frobozz summarized your options neatly as follows:

1. Down the spiral staircase through the hole in the ground
2. To the east down the inverted staircase (first disabling/springing any more blade traps)
3. To the north through the stuck door (after forcing it open)
4. To the south and any of the myriad passages beyond
5. Into the natural caverns through the mausoleum.

Please vote on one of the above. It does not help me if you simply say you would like to return to Threshold.

We have already completed option #3, so a revised set of choices might look like this:

1. Down the spiral staircase through the hole in the ground
2. To the east down the inverted staircase (first disabling/springing any more blade traps)
3. To the south to try the other doors and passages we have already encountered on the basement level
4. Into the natural caverns through the mausoleum

In this set of choices, Lanny would choose option #3 and would start with the door to the north of the pedestal room.

This was my choice, as well, as indicated by my last IC post. :)

Bregalad the elf

Hi everyone. Sorry for being mostly absent. Like Riftstone, this last month has been a busy one for me.

TK, I'll catch up on what has transpired on the IC and OOC forums this afternoon, and then post something this evening.

Like the others, Bregalad would like to return to Threshold.

Innana the Fighter:

A few of my most recent posts have been out of sequence to what was happening for everyone else. I would start a post in Word, and by the time I could transfer info over, it was the end of the work day without any breaks to post earlier. Sorry about that. If I at least did not get my posts in, even if a little behind, I would not be able to post at all. Sorry if I seem lost in the game sometimes.

I really appreciate Lanny keeping me involved, and being patient with my non-sensical posts.

Innana would like to go back to Threshold, but would even like it better if we could do some fighting so she could level up when we get to the City. I am good with whatever everyone decides.

Welcome back Bregalad. Innana has missed talking Elvish with you. Ok... Innana has just plain missed you;)

What non-sensical posts? I thought that your stated intention to return to Threshold without any practical solution for getting out of the basement was simply your unbridled optimism again. ;)

So, it sort of looks like there is a general consensus to get out of the castle and return to Threshold as soon as possible AND to find our way out of the castle legitimately. To that end, we might defer going any deeper into the ground (including into the natural caverns, which also slope downwards) UNLESS we find out that this is necessary to try to find our way out of the castle. I'll also try as party caller to keep things moving along, so that we can cover the key areas of the basement level relatively quickly and with little thumb twiddling.

I believe the armour was in many pieces and several people are carrying parts of it. In any case, Rhys is not carrying very much of it, if any at all, since he has no claim to it, can't wear it anyway, and wants to remain completely unencumbered. :)

Wow, I completely misunderstood your post, Alethan, when you said Rhys was gathering the armor pieces (viewtopic.php?f=70&t=1876&start=45). I assumed you had collected all the pieces and were carrying it. Sorry about that.

TK, the armor found in the mausoleum is something Bregalad would not have left behind, especially since he came to the castle for the sole purpose of finding it. Would it be ok to say that he gathered all of the pieces together, and is carrying it in his large sack?

If all of the armor is indeed being carried by various party members, then Bregalad would consolidate it all and carry it himself. If the armor is still in the mausoleum, then the elf will insist on returning there to collect the pieces.

Thanks.

Hmmm... I think we were gathering it up into a pile when I said it. Sorry, didn't mean to imply he was the one carrying it, just that he was helping collect it all together. Rhys has no interest in such things, and probably couldn't easily scout in silence while carrying bits of armour. :) No worries, Finglas.

Finglas, just update your sheet to reflect him carrying the armor and adjust endurance (and movement) accordingly.

Also, don't forget about the Treasure/XP thread. I have been keeping a list of each and every valuable item that we have found and picked up during this adventure (including the plate mail). If a PC says "I pick up the item", then I put that PC's name next to the item on the list. If no one specifically says that, I just put a "?" next to the item and move on. This is just to show who carries the item, in case we get split up or something... I assume that all actual distribution of such items takes place at the end of the adventure, probably after we get the items properly identified.

Anyway, I just updated the list to show that Bregalad is now carrying the plate mail.

Bregalad the elf

Character sheet updated. Thanks, TK! (Movement reduced to 10'/round.) Does having 15 STR give any bonus in reducing encumbrance?

Lanny, you did an awesome job with the Treasure/XP thread! Thank you, for keeping track of this!

Bregalad is also carrying the magical honeycomb with him (that works as a cure poison/cure disease).

Oy... Finglas, moving at 10'/round would actually slow down the entire group (remember that the group moves at the rate of the slowest PC, which is currently 20'/round). If our speed is cut in half, that would also mean that our chances for wandering monster encounters are theoretically doubled... So, uh, maybe we should just pretend we are all helping with that heavy load. Not to worry, Finglas - we all know you want that armor! ;)
Finglas wrote:Lanny, you did an awesome job with the Treasure/XP thread! Thank you, for keeping track of this!
My pleasure! Oh, I also forgot to mention that I am also including some of the treasure items we find (and in particular the magic items) on the "Custom/Unique Items" thread. It is on that thread that I will be adding the details about what the items actually do, as well as the history of the items (as we learn from the sages who identify the items).
Finglas wrote:Bregalad is also carrying the magical honeycomb with him (that works as a cure poison/cure disease).
I have been starting a fresh Treasure List at the start of each new adventure, which is why the magical honeycomb no longer appears on the Treasure List (I do usually confirm that someone has added an item to their character sheet before I permanently remove it from the Treasure List). Note, however, that the full description of the magical honeycomb IS still listed on the "Custom/Unique Items" thread, and it will remain there as long as the item is not used up (for a handy reference for all players).

It is funny reading all these ooh posts. I can't help but wonder if I would recognize each character in real life if we all had lunch together.

Lanny would be checking to see how we would be paying for lunch, and wondering if he should split the bill evenly, and collect all monies at the end of lunch. He would be monitoring the service to see what percentage of tip they would get.

Thordin would be listening to the conversations, and interjecting his two cents in when he was amused by the topics. I think Thordin would surprise us with how much he really talks in real life.

Merodin would want his lunch deep fried in oil. The more oil the better.

Traitiln would be multitasking. He would be texting someone on his phone, talking with us, and wondering if he should order a red or white wine.

Bregalad would be wondering if Innana really meant to use that word in the context of which she used it, and he wonders if maybe he may have missed one of the definition meanings when he read the dictionary.

Saul would have flirted with the waitress, and got his dinner for a discount when he found a hair ribbon in his salad.

Rhys would wonder if he overdressed for the occasion by wearing his linen shirt. He should have worn jeans. He knows what he wants to eat, but might change his mind.

Drudsa is thinking that Innana would have had red hair. When we ask him to show us some magic, he surprises us with a disappearing quarter trick.

LoL :) And, of course, there would be Innana, inquisitively asking everyone what they are going to order from the menu, and TK, waiting silently, with varying degrees of patience, for everyone to hurry up and figure out what they are going to order so they can eat already!!!
