Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Akhilleus smirks upon hearing Kaixanarthos' soft-spokenness and decides that the best course of action is to let him do the talking.
Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Xenos keeps quiet, but alert, happy for Kain to do the talking.

Ceana
The druid jumps a bit when the woman's voice breaks the tension. As Kain speaks, Ceana scans the area to try and pinpoint the source of the voice.

Taibhse
Relaxing a bit in the quiet after the others exit, he tries to make his charges more comfortable, but also keeps his eyes on the approaches to where they are.

Under The Zakath Desert
Below The Basement
Late Afternoon
With the scent of fresh dirt and rotting mushrooms wafting upon the otherwise stale air inside this massive underground chamber, the group seems content to let Kainaxarthos do the talking with the strange voice in the darkness.
“Of course not, silly. Matron is a title, not a name.”
“My, you are a pretty one, aren’t you? I see your sly tongue matches nicely with the rest of your face.”
A lithe female figure enters the very edge of your torchlight. She is dressed in long, flowing robes of a dirty white color. An explosion of deep red and orange colored hair surrounds her head, waving wildly in the wind current or whenever she moves her head. It is difficult to make out any other features from a distance in the dim torchlight.
“You are wise to be cautious, for many dangerous creatures can be found down here. But I suppose that’s no different than the crowded streets of your precious Xambaala?”
She stares at the group for a very long time before finishing. “Now…..WHAT could you possibly offer me that I don’t already possess?”

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
This sounds like you prefer to stay behind? Is that the case?
Thats fine for you and our missing Sik, but Drest is already making actions with the group below.
Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Drest
Drest remains silent but gives the woman a good look over. He also tries to see where she came from.

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Am I following this correctly that me and Taibhse are still in the cell at the top of the hole/tunnel? Can Sik hear whats going on below?

Cyril moves so that he has a better view of the woman and scans the darkness behind her. "Information primarily I would guess, my dear. We do come from Xambaala - quite clever of you to reason that out by the way."

Kainaxarthos
Kain smiles warmly and nods graciously. "Matron. You mentioned those dwarves, perhaps you could tell us more about them and we could deal with your problem."
"Or, maybe information is your trade, like he says. I will give you one for free, I'm not from Xambaala. But finally, I can give you some company, possibly not too many travelers come by this way."
He shrugs and looks over her shoulder at the building. "It's been a while since I've had a good quiet sit. Those in Xambaala are quite rushed, you know."
Kain tries to determine if she is wearing one of those amulet things, or if she even has feet.

You can be where you prefer to be. With the group or not.
If another PC wants to stay back, you don't need to comply with their idea.
Sik is not hobbled and is free to act on his own.
Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Of course I'd prefer to be with the party, I was staying to provide security for those two ill to go on.

Then the party can remain together like I suggested initially.
Please make your actions accordingly.

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Akhilleus slightly swells his chest as if to display his warrior's pride when Kain mentions they can help against the dwarves.
He continues to suspect the woman though. A person here, alone, isolated in a strange underground building, can only survive by being aggressive and cruel. At least, that's what's on the warrior's mind.

Ceana
The druid eases up to stand just behind Kain, keeping her torch low so as not to affect his vision. She peers into the darkness, trying to sense if anything is trying to use the woman as a distraction and attack the group.

Under The Zakath Desert

Late Afternoon
The pale skinned woman with the wild orange hair smiles from ear to ear at the words from Kainaxarthos, ushering the group closer by motioning with one hand.
"Where else would you be from? There is nothing but rock and sand above our heads for as far as anyone can travel."
Though tensions are obviously high, no other threats can be seen in the darkness beyond your torchlight.
"Say it right. Dwarfs! DWARFS!!! You could deal with the stinking dwarfs for me, but will you? I suppose I better come up with some kind of reward? Could I hire you to kill them for me? They are such a disgusting burden on me at times."
She points directly across the river, scrunching her face up in disgust. "Having dwarfs for your only neighbors is not ideal for me, as they are unpredictable and dangerous. Not to mention stupid."
"Perhaps we can talk over an agreement between us? Come closer, if we are to trust one another, that needs to start here and now, before I can invite you inside."

Kainaxarthos
He chuckles and nods. "Very well. A show of trust." Kain walks half the distance to the Matron and stops. "Now, could you show me your neck and feet? We've been trailing something very sneaky."

Drest
Drest moves forward as well, trying to get a good look at the woman and making sure she isn't a snakeman in disguise.

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Sik makes his way down the tunnel to see the strange woman speaking to the party. He regards her with suspcion while listening to her proposal, but he, too, looks to see any signs that she is a snake woman. He grips his axe tightly, ready to attack if she isn't what she appears to be.
