Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
isvand sags against the wall. Yay! … we won?
Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Yes, Gideon used it to revitalise Isvand.SM did Gerdal get to use the First Aid kit? In that case I will remove one from her inventory.
Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Cosmo has one more kit if you want.
Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
I am going to trawl the thread to get an accurate time of day and update with current hp and resources so you can make informed decisions.

Exploring the De Ogilvy Corridors
July 10th, early evening.
You guys have been through the mill certainly. Several of the group brought into negative health status, nearly everyone injured to some level, burned by fire or acid, raked by troll and zombie, bitten by giant abominable rats.
Three of the party, Sven, Orgoth and Yardie are missing. Presumed dead or teleported to some unknown Barrowmaze location. Sven's Familiar wolf Smokie has also disappeared without further trace.
The miners have remained stalwart to their labours. All the gear removed from the cart, which was also dismantled, stored now in the crypt (c) of the 'de Ogilvy' corridor. (So named from the mage who was encountered exploring it).
Beyond the breached wall lies a devilish trap and an unholy baptistry in the form of the black and gold coffer. A token item, a black scale shield taken from the wall. It has not detected with any radiance or taint of magic or evil though while bearing it inside the room, the Black Pudding seemed restrained from flooding into the chamber.
The captive ravenous zombies are all deceased, as is the troll from the Troll-in-a-box trinket held by the gargoyle statues hand. The cell door has been repaired and a new lock created by the gnomes that opens and locks using the short sword keyblade that designated 'key-master' Isvand wields.
Beyond the cell room is the secret room that contained the Bone Golem and treasure chest. The round plinth trap deactivated, the chest emptied of coins, +650gp, +2270sp. The Bone Golem, fractured and broken into separate bones is placed back in the chest. Some bones taken for research purposes. His four scimitars are 'adequate' blades, fine swashbuckling weapons of otherwise ordinary crafting.
Bucko has maintained his vigil in the above barrow mound, guarding the entrance and the mule that would struggle to descend through the gap. In the chamber below the block and tackle are two trapped pillars of loose stones, etched with glyphs (of Warding) that might cause the rubble piles to explode if disturbed.
Sundance is in a lighter mood, exorcised of whatever spirit or ill that possessed her. Patra-patra and Copperpiece aid where they can, the former assisting Gerdal and the latter squiring for Sir Dewey.
Gideon can collect all the remaining 1st Aid Kits and use them in turn upon the most injured characters subject to Wisdom checks.
Consolidating the area and resting seems a popular choice. Despite having rooms nearby unexplored, folk can take a timeout. Certainly the mages can use a few hours to replenish spells. Clerics will have to wait until the next day. Guards set, meal prepared, plans discussed.
The hours pass with no serious intrusion, taking you to late evening, (advancing four hours).
Actions and comments please everyone.

Sigrid
Sigrid will pass along her first aid kit to Gideon. She will then rest and study her goatskin bound spellbook.

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Cosmo gives up his last first aid kit. “This was a friend’s, he’s no longer with us, use it well.”
Cosmo will rest and resupply and study.

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Gerdal has an additional first aid kit, in addition to the one that was already used on Isvand, and she'll happily give that one up.
She will rest and memorize spells.
Can we have a map of the immediate area with the last rooms marked?

Gideon
"Thank you for use of the kits. Who among us is in most dire need? If at all possible, I'd like to keep one in reserve should another fall. I've stretched my calls to St.Ygg to their limit for now, so we must rely on the mundane instead of the divine, at least for a while."
Gideon will make his way among the ranks checking on all, offering encouragement and prayers along the way. Administering the remaining aid kits as/if needed.
Rolling 3 wis checks to use as required

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Sir Dewey
He has a FAK as well, offering it to the best suited. I think Isvand, Cosmo, Amos, and SD
The Knight nods at the treasure. "A good sum, though perhaps not worthy of that diabolical trap. Some people."
"Now that everyone is rested, let's finish up those other two rooms. The Museum and statue rooms should clear this hall. And now that we're less than ideal, let's stick together."
Unless I'm mistaken and the rooms have already been fully dealt with, SD will move towards the statue room.

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Amos doesn’t seem satisfied with the trove from such a difficult room. He looks over the empty chest again.
“I suggest anyone with such skills look over this chest again. My old instincts tell me there is something else hidden around here.”
He moves about the rooms, checking for any other secret niches or doors.
If there is nothing left to find, he moves to the statue in the wall room, trying something different.
“Hello there, sir. Quite a predicament you’ve gotten yourself into there”.

"I can help you with that sir."
Cosmo will take some quiet time now that people had a bit of a rest and search the chest and more of the room.
F/ RT (vs. 45) [1d100]=6 OL (vs. 40) [1d100]=17
Cosmo is on fire, has not failed his thieving rolls yet.
Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Treyvor and Cosmo set to work, combining experience and Gnomish ingenuity.“I suggest anyone with such skills look over this chest again. My old instincts tell me there is something else hidden around here.”
Treyvor: Find & Remove Traps vs 30% [1d100]=9
They note the chest is riveted to the central stone on the plinth. Finding no traps, you can chisel away the rivets to shear them from holding the chest in place. It had been noted as immovable before when a rope was looped around it. Moving the chest produces no hidden cache. No buried vault, no bag of goodies. A secret door led into this chamber, maybe other secret doors exist? No one has specifically actioned searching for concealed / secret doors, Sundance and Amoz probably the most skilled among you.
Sundance: searching Secret doors vs 33% Concealed vs 50% [1d100]=51
But even under her detailed inspection, none of the walls look to contain any addition door or entrance. Amos works, scouring walls and floor in the opposite direction.
Amos: searching Secret doors vs 33% Concealed vs 50% [1d100]=77
Both may feel equally exasperated and shrug. A paltry horde of coins gained perhaps but the Bone Golem is not available to give up any extra secrets he may have been guarding ... Amos vents that on the impassive statue that appears half stuck or strangely built into the northern wall of Crypt B.
There is the second body and you may strip him of an extra suit of rusted platemail armour. In need of refurbishment, the dented breastplates and greaves will equate to a chainmail equivalent in terms of AC protection until restored properly. His body as has an opal gemstone in a pouch, a Duchy broadsword and a sack of firebrand torches.
Actions, I will update next with any findings in the Mueseum Crypt (A) and Statue Crypt (B) and any other character rolls.
Gideon: 1st Aid Kit restoration [1d4]=2
Gideon assesses the wounded. His experience in combat triage is limited and he can only advance minimal applications of the 1st Aid kits. I applied to most injured

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
With no answer from the man stuck in the wall, Amos looks over the opal they found, assessing whether it is a simple gemstone, or something more, like Sven’s soul gems.
“Maybe this came from the chest before they were killed?”
He speaks with Sir Dewey and the others. “Most of us are injured, some badly. If this is really all there to find is in this area, should we fortify it the best we can from intrusion and try to get some rest? We are practically useless being this injured.”

Sir Dewey
"That's what I was thinking as well. Let's secure those last rooms, and then erect a barricade across the hall."

Re: Barrowmaze: Territorial Gains.
Sigrid
For now Sigrid is completely focused on recovering her spells so she lets the others work on the barricade.

Isvand searches for hidden doors as well. Hearing the others talk about resting, he adds I could do with a bit of a lie down, as well...
