Barnaby and Borav may each cast Cure Wounds at 1st level for 1sp. They both only have 1sp so this is all the prompt healing for the day.

Alright so now that you have a plan I will make the most important morale roll of the battle. They have lost 3 out of 12 ogres which is 25% total losses so the leader has to make a roll to keep them together.

Ogre Morale, Full Force 25% losses [2d6]=9. They pass but will not pursue at this time.

Ogres 1-3 are dead or nearly so.
Ogre 4 is alive but out of action.
Ogres 5 and 6 are hurt but may rally.
5 doesn't Ogre 5 Morale under 25% [2d6]=5
6 doesn't either Ogre 6 Morale under 50% [2d6]=5

Both of them are in the way of the exit so you have plenty of time to get into position. You will have surprise so you can shoot and scoot. Sengrim, Barnaby, Hodlar and Kurev can then make a ranged attack into them as they emerge into the spears. Provided they do of course. Gurav and Borav only had 1 throwing weapon so they are melee only now.

alright the temptation has gotten me. I know the game is BX/Chainmail I am only familiar with B/X D&D. Not familiar with Chainmail (other than the armor) how might I jump into the action without slowing anything down friends? :)

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I am not the DM, so these are my thoughts on what the options might be. scarik is the final arbiter.

The easiest way might be to take one of the current NPCs and read the Dice Mechanics section of the Rules

That would get you into the game without any pause at all, and after this fight the group will probably head back to town if there are prisoners to take care of. That would give you time to make up your own character, after having some experience with the rules. Your character could join us there.

Optionally, there may be prisoners in the group, and you could take one of them. Depending on your social class, Barnaby (tibbius' PC) and Rolton (one of my NPCs) are nobles, so you might know them. There are other NPCs from this area, so you might know them, too.

Ask any and all questions you have.

The basics of why I call this Chainmail-B/X is that I used Chainmail's dice system for combat and the B/X Reaction table adapted for almost everything else. B/X rolls that would be 1d6 are retained as well. It let's me scale from personal combat all the way up to armies with the same dice methods. Its a tremendous amount of fun in a live setting to roll 100d6 for a skirmish then work our the hits on the table. :D

I use ACKS pretty heavily, especially in classes so that demi-humans are different from human. All the usual D&D races are available plus I have some Ravenfolk who made a brief IC appearance already. I caution that you avoid Small characters unless you are interested in dealing with issues that being 60lbs causes.

Once the combat is over if you have a character made then you can be a prisoner of the ogres as is tradition when dungeon delving. Otherwise you will be a new arrival to the area when they get back to town.

Can we pin the current roster to the top of the page? It'll make finding things easier.

I'll roll a few rounds of combat, if that's okay. You can use them, or not, at your pleasure. :)

I don't have a lot for questions basically what is there for NPC's in the lines of a dwarf maybe that I could just jump into things and figure it out by seeing what is being rolled by others, reading the rules, and just by doing. That's essentially how I like to learn by doing.

Once I figure it out, sure.

Leitz linked the Dwarves. If you're familiar with Warhammer Fantasy their archetypes should look suspiciously familiar. I steal quite liberally from WHF.

The Dwarves stats are in the Plot Hook thread.

Under a spoiler. Gurav is the leader, liege and elder kinsman to the others. You can play Borav (cousin), Hodlar (nephew) or Korev (brother) so long as you keep in mind they are all loyal to Gurav and their task unto death.
